“Just wanted to know if anyone else has this rule of avoiding big outdoor apartment units at night. Most of the time I dash at night just as a little part time gig. Even sometimes I’ll get a decent or good paying order that looks tempting to do, but once I click the address and…”

“Seriously, how common is this? This has happened to me twice so far and it's already annoying as hell. And is this just bad luck or a system glitch?”

“Then you're driving back 10 miles because you can't dash in the zone you've just been instructed to deliver to.”

Several DoorDash drivers report the app assigning them deliveries to high-crime areas, sometimes with a small incentive ($1) to accept. One driver described an area as 'bad' and had to quickly leave after completing a delivery. Another mentioned being enticed into a zone despite it being undesirable.

“Started reading dd driver threads, I have seen people mention scheduling dashes? I've dashed around 2 major cities in ohio, never had to do this. I've always been able to just dash whenever. Can you get rejected if too many people sign up for a certain time? What about area, are you restricted to a zone? Thanks for your time submitted by /u/YUMMIYUMMIDOWNVOTES [link] [comments]”

“I live in Atlanta and I dashed for 14 hours yesterday so this has me on edge as I prepare for my shift today. This is so unfortunate that she was just trying to make money and ran into a creep. Even worse that the police didn’t do anything but that’s unfortunately always expected when the victim is black. Even sometimes I’ll get a decent or good paying order that looks tempting to do, but once I click the address and put it into google maps and see an apartment pop up , it’s a decline for me. I know some will say that I must really not want to make money , but honestly I’m not putting myself through the hassle of having to pull up to a”

“Anybody else receive this challenge? So basically I earn an extra dollar per order. I have until the 25th to complete it. I don't really dash anymore so do you think this would be worth my time to do? submitted by /u/Accomplished_Law7299 [link] [comments]”

“The way the doordash app words it and some support issues what I ve read makes it look like sometimes in some cities you have to schedule in order to dash or guarantee good times to dash. Is this true ? Where we live in Colorado I get to dash whenever I want. I guess I just assumed it was that way everywhere. Does anyone have limited dashing availability ? Just curious. submitted by /u/BillyandBonnie7 [link] [comments]”

“Serious question, do any dashers here take the job seriously enough to consider bringing self defence tools / weapons with them while dashing for safety concerns? I image most don't, and that would be fair because confrontations and crazy people are very rare, but I wanted to ask anyways. submitted by /u/Palkia88 [link] [comments]”

“Can someone tell me if this is normal or is it because I just started with DoorDash? Can’t tell if this will be consistent cus of my first 50 deliveries. Thoughts? submitted by /u/Aggravating-View1848 [link] [comments]”

“So just recently started dashing. I wish I screenshotted the delivery notes but I didn’t think this would happen. Now, usually I just see “leave at door” or “don’t knock or ring doorbell” so I just drop off the order and I message them “order has been delivered!” I had an order that had “knock plz” in the notes. So, I did what they said… apparently, they forgot the “don’t” part and they then rated me three stars and said I “didn’t follow delivery instructions” I know we can’t see who it was but”

“I just spoke with a dasher in NYC, he’s been doing DoorDash like 7 months, his acceptance rate even was like 50%, but he got scheduled 24 hours, anytime, everyday in NYC!!! I did comparison between my account and his. Still it’s almost impossible to get schedules in NYC now, but him, he can dashing 24 hours anytime, everyday, I checked his account. But he didn’t admit anything regarding using Bot or Hacker Service!!! submitted by /u/Motor-Lavishness-440 [link] [comments]”

“I always set my schedule from 7pm-3am daily at 12am even if i’m a platinum dasher because I don’t trust the app 3 days ago, I couldn’t schedule anymore at 12am & waited till 3pm the same day & it only allows me 7pm -12am my previous 8/16-8/19 schedules weren’t affected I set a reminder at 11:30pm on 8/20 to extend my dash past 12am asked 2 support agents & they told me there’s a new schedule limit & even platinum dashers won’t be able to dash now at all times DD keeps implementin”

“I am a DoorDash driver in the metro east area. No matter what zone I am in, it will always try and send me to east saint Louis. I am a smaller woman, and I have heard some horror stories. Last night, it gave me three offers to pick up from granite city, and collinsville to deliver to east saint. My acceptance rate dropped to 92%. Is there any other way to dodge orders from a specific zone without the hit on my acceptance rate? submitted by /u/Dismal_Notice_1397 [link] [comments”

“I’ve been door dashing for 2 months now, but also I like to think I have common sense and it told me I should unassign this. I got all these messages before I even got to the location, which was right around the corner. submitted by /u/Winter_Cat1333 [link] [comments]”

“I think after everyone rejects it all the way through doordash attaches a huge tip on there and on top of that the customer tip is there so it turns into $14 but it's a high mileage trip. (8 to 10 miles that nobody wanted) But since platinum is known for not rejecting trips they get a big amount. submitted by /u/BasicInevitable2226 [link] [comments]”

“I'm half joking but it felt like the algorithm wanted to give me a lot of work as a reward for finally reaching platinum at 50 deliveries but the draw back was it was in a bad neighborhood. I have a feeling a lot of dashers avoid these area but dd found a way to place me there with a ice cream delivery and enticed me with +$1 to change the zone. 😂😂😂 After figuring out what was happening.. I got on the freeway to run away but it had me exit u turn onto the freeway to go to an even more sha”
