“Simply can't afford to accept Doordash Platinum Crap no matter what? - have not even taken into account W&T of car, Oil/Tires/Brakes & of course Taxes.”
“I have been a lot more platinum focused before, not so much now.. but I’ve been basically forced to accept a $2 offer just to keep platinum, and then just unassign. But what do you do if your completion rate is at the border line, and your acceptance rate is also? Just curious…”
“This is with platinum and accepting every single order in Los Angeles. But this is before I resolved the battery power saving problem so I get a lot more offers now. I need to accomplish a full week again with no sick days to really compare to the weeks pay in the screenshot. Is…”
Several DoorDash drivers report significant income loss after enabling the Platinum program. One driver lost $350 in one week, citing a need to drive everywhere for offers versus waiting for them at home. Another mentions needing to recharge their EV every 30 miles, further reducing earnings.

“27 an hour is about my daily average. Any “low” offers were part of a stacked and I drove under 80 miles total for the day. Most deliveries were 5 mins or less from pickup. The “inactive” time was my break. submitted by /u/Wit2Gold…”
“For reference I am a platinum dasher so i could dash anytime. I live in a small 13,000 small college town . Before this week I was making 100-150 for 5-6 hours of dashing wed-sunday primary lunch and late night. This week the changed it in my area where anyone can dashing now so its severely over saturated to the point of only making 80-100 dashing this week same amount of time dashing. Its currently 2pm on a Saturday I've been logged in since noon and received 1 run. submitted by ”
“Hi all! I just became a plat tier dasher, about 20 orders in. For any fellow plat dasher, just curious what’s the pay per mile of a typical plat level order vs gold/silver? Also how frequently do you get those? Every 10, 20 etc. As a gold I get a gold labeled order about every 10-15 run in my area (usually 3 to 5 per mile) Also somewhat surprisingly I haven’t seen much low value orders since becoming plat (obviously I can be lucky with low sample size compared to my gold days where I need to rej”
“A lot of people got a taste, and I’m sure it tasted awful. If you rely on plat because of your market, right on, get that bag. If you don’t, then don’t get discouraged. Keep picking cherries! Good luck out there friends. submitted by /u/Bassrusher [link] [comments]”
“I see randomly that I get high paying offers because I am platinum, but the more I work the more I realize maintaining platinum seems to be netting me less than other drivers who aren’t platinum. If I start declining lower paying offers will this help me overall or hurt me when it comes to losing platinum? Am I getting extra money as a platinum driver or am I just being taken for a ride by maintaining my platinum status? submitted by /u/DustinS85 [link] [comments]”
“Wondering what your thoughts are platinum making a big difference or better off being super selective? I definitely feel like the offers I get are better when I’m platinum but not sure submitted by /u/IndividualBee1368 [link] [comments]”

“Wouldn't it be great if long-time dashers got extra pay? Like how about "Platinum Pay" or "Platinum Bonus" like you would get an extra amount per order or a weekly bonus. Isn't that a great idea? Can you add any other ideas that would be cool for the company to better compensate their drivers? submitted by /u/Nearby_Occasion3444 [link] [comments]”

“I don’t really care too much about being platinum, I’ll unassign, decline 10 orders in a row I don’t care and I still got platinum lol not that it’s makes a difference lol submitted by /u/Itchy_Tree2909 [link] [comments]”
“Having been Top Dasher and then Platinum for over 3+ years I will concede that you do receive more high value offers. However, the flip side is you have to accept more low value offers to maintain Platinum. Even under the new point system that still remains a fundamental truth. This is why I believe cherry picking is still the best approach to dashing in most markets. Less gas used. Less vehicle wear and tear. More net profit. submitted by /u/Intelligent-Plane711 [link] [commen”
“I’ve recently started door dashing since sales have slowed down a lot at work. To make up for the seasonal slow down I decided to start dashing. One question I want to ask is maintaining status worth it? I feel like once I hit 70% acceptance rate I feel like they chokehold you into maintaining status. They throw in some of the shittiest orders for you to maintain status. They are so quick to deduct a point but it seems like it doesn’t go up when you accept. What are your thoughts on maintaining”

“Honestly dont understand how door dash gets away with these offers. Anything 7 plus mile should already pay out $10 and more depending on the miles itself. If I would of taken this... would of been a total of 40 miles to go and come back! Like what the eff man... on top of that this was during "peak hours"... one extra $1 btw 🤣🤣🤣 submitted by /u/AdOutrageous7181 [link] [comments]”
“That's like 21 days of Platinum status?. What about real Platinum dashers who struggled to get the status and now have to face immense competition? submitted by /u/One_Look_7008 [link] [comments]”
“how is it? notable slow days were tuesday and saturday. i dont dash due to not being able during peak hours (5-10ish). unfortunately ive noticed a lot of the best offers are in that timeframe. it’s a lot of takeout orders. i look for anything $1.5/miles up and when im bored i pick up the crappy $4.50 orders for 2-3 miles. honestly i spend a lot of time driving back to my common hotspot. i’m at 35% acceptance rate. HALF OF MY ORDERS WERE PAST THE FIRST FIFTY. should i grind up to gold? thoughts?”
“I was Platinum for two years and Top Dasher (precursor to Platinum) the year prior. When another gig revenue stream I participate in took off I dropped down to Gold and now Silver status. A couple of two things happened: I did start receiving more low value and no-tip offers. It's a real thing. I just kept declining them. Good paying offers appeared and I accepted them. My dollars to miles ratio improved substantially. As of this writing I sit on a YTD ratio of $1.72 per mile. As my dollars”
“So I was out in Cartaret, NJ earlier and my AR is currently at 73%. I was randomly checking my app to see how it was out there and I got a message saying you're stats have earned you Platinum Status with a button that said - Start Platinum Now, so I did. I saw it under my name showing I had Platinum. And now, when I just got back to my hometown which is Jersey City, NJ I started a dash just to see how platinum would be, I accepted this double order same customer for $6 bucks going 1.5 miles,”
“I’m a Platinum Dasher that dashes in acworth and Marietta. I’ve not been making $200 a day like I usually would the past few days. For those who make that or more, where do yall wait for orders in the locations and do y’all do my offer or by time? any advice would help submitted by /u/Either-Presentation7 [link] [comments]”
“I live in a small town with like 6 restaurants and 4 stores listed on DD. Me and almost if not all of the other Dashers in town stay home, get a flash offer, complete it then go offline and drive home to wait for the next one. I’ve posted about this on here before and the majority of people on here seem to be in bigger and busier zones and have never seen a Flash Offer before. Anyone else a small town dasher? If so how has your experience been? I was on DD for about 2-3 months before they rolled”

“Kinda back into dashing and here lately as a platinum dasher all I've been getting is low paying long miles orders. I mean they're not even paying a dollar a mile. I dont live in a huge city but big enough to have thousands of restaurants. Yesterday i drove 148 miles for $93 and that was declining like 6 orders they was so low. Anyone else deal with this? submitted by /u/Dry-Negotiation9905 [link] [comments]”
“Hello fellow Dashers! I dash full time (unfortunately). I've been trying hard to keep platinum for a while. Recently, I allowed myself to go under 70% acceptance using a platinum pass. It's nice to cherry pick orders. Right now, I'm at 40% acceptance. I'd need to get to 50% to use my last platinum pass. But I'm wondering if it is worth trying to get back up to platinum. I can stick to scheduling so I can dash whenever since "dash now" isn't always available. Is”
“Looking for advice. I’ve only been dashing since the middle of June (see pic). I wanted to get a good sample size. I have the Platinum level for dashers and need 5 more shopping orders to progress from Rising Shopper to Pro Shopper. These are my earnings over 204 deliveries. It comes out to $2211.19 total making an avg of $10.84 a delivery. I also missed 3 weeks of dashing due to not wanting to dash in a rental car for 2 weeks and going on vacation for a week. I have my main job working 35-40 ho”

“I've read the posts on this sub claiming that Platinum status doesn't matter, that it's just a ploy by DD to get dashers to accept orders that they would otherwise decline. I didn't disagree, necessarily, but I still felt that maintaining Platinum was important. The few times that I did drop below by a point or two, I felt that both the frequency and quality of my orders were getting worse. I also liked being able to immediately dash at any time. What changed? The realization tha”
“I’m my market if you’re not plat your good paying offers plummet so I find platinum to be worth it. But I did get this absolute unicorn today submitted by /u/Lumpy_Actuator_8856 [link] [comments]”
“This week I tried to accept almost all orders but it gets to a point where DoorDash is sending me 20km away for 12$. I even got a 4$ order for 10km (I had absolutely to decline). Sadly according to my stats I’m making less per hour than the past 4 weeks of DoorDash. So I’m wondering is the salary sacrifice worth it if you want to get the platinum status. submitted by /u/Critical-Future-1560 [link] [comments]”

“Huh. Wonder what I’m doing wrong. Car is a VW ID.4 I got for $16,500 and charge at home. It does X/Comfort/Electric. I still say tiers matter. 🤷♂️ submitted by /u/JayGatsby52 [link] [comments]”

“I’ve been sanding that last 3-4 weeks and have been making good money especially being in between jobs. I just reached platinum over the weekend and I have not gotten much orders. Even when I was Gold, orders were coming left and right. It’s Wednesday now and I’ve made 5 dollars being online for 40 minutes. I just don’t understand submitted by /u/jayrixck43 [link] [comments]”
“First week July27 - During (no Platinum) I was driving around everywhere to find offers. $546 2nd week Aug 3 - (With Platinum) I'm just sitting at home watching TV waiting for offers. And it still is higher. $888 $350 difference. And this is with an awful EV setup where I have to go recharge at home every 30 miles bc I bought an old short range EV for $1000. 😂 if I had good range I could probably do $200 per day bc driving home & recharging wastes alot of time. I already made back the c”
