“Hello everyone! I’m a bit out of my depth here. I’m not sure how to repair this joint and get the ceiling matched. Do I try and put another joint tape in there after removing this damaged one and some can spray ceiling texture - do I have other options? submitted by /u/ConkyConks [link] [comments]”

“I level 5 skim coated my walls, and primed them with bullseye123…a month ago. Today I painted the ceiling, as I’m pulling the frog tape off this happened all around the perimeter! Please help me I can’t believe this, my walls seemed so perfect and now I feel they are ruined. Notes* I vacuumed walls and cleaned with damp rag before priming. I tested a spot of frog tape in the closet last week, I left it there for 2 days. Came back peeled it and all was good. This frog tape was on for less than 6”

“Hi all. We have a small room that had some textured ceiling. The texture was heavier across two lengths that I assumed was to cover imperfections in the drywall. My plan was to encapsulate with a few layers of joint compound as it was very hard to scrape in the area that we grabbed for asbestos testing (yes we sprayed, I believe it's painted). While scraping some of the higher ridges before the first coat I noticed one of those ceiling lines was slightly bouncy, I scraped it to reveal the dr”

“our 1970s home has me at a loss - it’s also possible this texture was done by a mediocre former owner with a love of questionable DIY. the closest I could find was crows brush, but it’s super chaotic and has a ton of different shapes and thicknesses. I need to be able to replicate it at least a little in this section of wall I’m patching (about 2x3 ft). any help identifying or recommendations on how to replicate this is much appreciated! submitted by /u/Universal-Grace [link] [”

“I don’t have much experience with textured ceilings. Trying to figure out the best way to match this texture. Thankfully the customer is a friend and not picky about results, just wants the damage repaired but of course I want to make it look as good as possible. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. submitted by /u/Forever_1228 [link] [comments]”

“I have a lot of large mud patches on my plaster walls because they were in pretty rough shape. Now the texture and sheen aren't consistent. I read a few posts on here that suggested painting with like a 1 1/4in nap roller, but is that all I need to do? Or do I need to prime again, mud more, etc? I will punch the wall if I have to basically start over lol submitted by /u/thereaintshitcaptain [link] [comments]”

“Had a ceiling repair and added the access panel, don’t really love what the drywallers did as it doesn’t match. Anybody out there that have fixed this before and make their ceilings match better than this? You can also see the difference in stamps than my existing ceiling. Thoughts? submitted by /u/lebortsdm [link] [comments]”

“I recently sent my leg through my textured kitchen ceiling and after attempting a repair, I decided to scrape off the texturing and have drywallers come in for a “level 5” skim of the ceiling. They have been here twice and will be coming back Monday to continue. I am asking what my expectations should be for the finished product of this ceiling, knowing that it was old drywall. I would be grateful for any input from experienced dry wallers. Pics are attached, but again, this is not the finished”

“Hi!! So I had a slight crack in my ceiling I tried to fix myself. I filled the crack with dap Drydex, then sprayed with homax wall texture, I painted over it but it still didn’t look right, so I tried to start over and sanded it down a bit and then sprayed more homax. Got some new paint because I thought it might be my old paint…and painted again and now it still looks like this. I think I can fix the crack better because it’s just a straight line- I need more texture spray but had given up. I’m”

“I have a few fairly large patches in a room I am renovating. I really don't know where to start on the texturing since the wall doesn't really have a recognizable pattern in the first place. Any tips on how to get this to blend in more would be appreciated. submitted by /u/Technical-Shoe-2585 [link] [comments]”

“Hello all! This sub has helped me countless times and I’m back for some advice. I know mimicking a stomp pattern is pretty difficult but I cannot get even close to the design on my ceiling. I’ve bought three different types of brushes with no luck. Been doing some research and was told this stipple brush would do it. I must be missing something because I didn’t even come close. Any ideas? I appreciate all the help. submitted by /u/GeeWizard666 [link] [comments]”

“As the title reads, I applied two layers of USG 45 via roller to the ceiling and it’s not chalky white though it is hardened. The white patch is from USG plus 3 and it’s already dried. It’s been 48 hours so what gives? Been applying joint compound for 5+ years and this has never happened. I’m getting anxious to paint it. I’ve got a fan and dehumidifier going. submitted by /u/rodman- [link] [comments]”
