“I had a crew finish up a repair for a drywall project they did over the last few days. They were patching holes left from electrical work. One area looks great but this area is a little funny with texture on what should be a smooth wall. Is this texture a drywall issue or an…”
“Hi all. Currently painting a house that sits on black soil and moves with the seasons, causing cracks in the drywall. Most I’ve patched up and expect will appear again soon, but the worse one is the one provided in the picture that sits around a door frame. I bought a small…”

“Had a small crack in the ceiling where some drywall fell off. Everything was dry so I assumed it was just settling. Long story short, patched it up with some mud and then fast forward 5 months and I just took this picture. Looked completely normal the last 5 months….any idea what would cause this? Didn’t paint after mud which was probably stupid but life got ahold of me….any help would be great! submitted by /u/t-rex51 [link] [comments]”
“Dent is about 1-2 inches wide for context. I've got spackle, sandpaper and matching paint. I'm about the least handy person - first time repairing dry wall like this, any tips on how to repair so it looks good as new? Thank you! submitted by /u/DaddyOnTheMic69420 [link] [comments]”
“I had a crew finish up a repair for a drywall project they did over the last few days. They were patching holes left from electrical work. One area looks great but this area is a little funny with texture on what should be a smooth wall. Is this texture a drywall issue or an issue with the way they painted over it. Do you have a recommended fix? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/AnythingDangerous [link] [comments]”
“Obviously would prime the cardboard before patching. submitted by /u/eng2725 [link] [comments]”
“Trying to repair both small and large areas in basement. This is the texture. Will it recreate itself on its own from priming/repainting, and if so, what would be the best way to achieve it? First time DIYer so I'm very inexperienced but trying to fix some childhood shenanigans! submitted by /u/3GreedyGremlins [link] [comments]”
“I see the crack after mud where the patch was fixed. How to fix this ? Does sanding fix this. Think the plumber guy put i coat of mud and left. Looks i have to sand and paint. submitted by /u/Pravrc123 [link] [comments]”
“Had the ceiling in my basement kitchen skimmed with drywall mud as recommended by drywaller to fix a few seams that were noticeable, while finishing the rest of my basement. The rest of the basement is all new drywall but the kitchen I left existing. The drywaller did the mud, it dried for probably a couple days, then it was primed, left to dry, then painted and after painting it is all flaking really badly. This didnt happen anywhere else in the basement with new drywall, and this was the same”
“Hello! We just bought a house that was newly remodeled. After using painters tape on the ceiling, the paint ripped away from the drywall. Now, we can see the drywall u derneath is pink. Any ideas what this might be? submitted by /u/Amhity [link] [comments]”
“Never done drywall before so not sure what a repair like this entails. I mudded the whole basement and at least with the lights I got + no natural lighting I can’t see any joints so I’m comfortable mudding it if needed just rather be lazy if I can get away with it. What’s the correct approach to this? Looking closer I’ve got to do a couple spots, the paint edging tool I used turns out to suck (more likely I suck with it), you can see other paint lines next to this spot as well I actually didn’t”
“Hi all. Currently painting a house that sits on black soil and moves with the seasons, causing cracks in the drywall. Most I’ve patched up and expect will appear again soon, but the worse one is the one provided in the picture that sits around a door frame. I bought a small panel of drywall and was going to replace it, but I’m not sure if that will solve the problem, just cause separation between the new panels or have the new panel crack when the house moves again. Any idea how to handle this,”
