“I’ve been using wild deodorant for 6 years now but I feel like it’s stopped working as well than before, it definitely doesn’t seem to neutralise odour as well as it used to. I’m not sure if that’s because the quality has got worse since Unilever bought it. Has anyone else found…”

“I feel like I’m going nuts here! Obviously realized that my deodorant is a lot of plastic waste but I’ve searched high and low for a refillable antiperspirant (WITH aluminum) and I cannot find a single option. I know there are a few options on the market in the UK but I can’t…”
Consumers are struggling to find beauty and personal care products that align with their values—specifically, sustainability, ethical sourcing, and avoiding large corporations with questionable practices. They're actively researching alternatives, often switching brands due to acquisitions or concerns about corporate behavior, and frequently encounter issues with product quality or effectiveness. This search for truly values-driven options is proving challenging and frustrating.

“Does anyone know of any website or companies that have refillable antiperspirant? Bonus points if it's Canadian but honestly at this point I would take any of them that ship to Canada. I need antiperspirant not deodorant. That's the only product that helps and works…”
“hi everyone! im looking to venture back into the world of low waste deodorant options, and Wild roll-on seems to be a good option. im a 19 year old woman, i live in Australia so it is hot and humid, i work a physical job and i tend to notice i smell in my work shirts no matter the deodorant. also, i feel like deodorant stops working after about 2 months and i’ll need to swap between formulas and brands for it to still work. could i have some recommendations please? thank you! submitted by”
“For commercial use, this is all we use. We believe it is a better product which typically comes with a little higher price tag.”
“I've been looking at getting lotion bars to reduce plastic waste. The only thing I'm nervous about is losing what I usually use my lotion for. Typically I put it on to match and hold my perfume to last throughout the day. What are your favorite solid lotions? submitted by /u/Adorable_Goat_2092 [link] [comments]”
“Has anyone ever used this brand? I received this as a gift and I’m not sure if I should use it as shampoo or soap. I typically use Ethique shampoo, which works well for me, and I’m afraid that an unknown brand might result in a waxy build up or something else dreadful. Anyone got a review for this product? submitted by /u/rae_againsthemachine [link] [comments]”
“Thanks for offering to help. The detail about liking the smell but still getting a headache is useful. I'll come back with the material and fragrance details once I've checked them. This also leaves me wondering how people make that decision before buying. For anyone reading who's bought a candle, diffuser or other scent online: what was the last one you bought, and what convinced you to order it without smelling it first?”
“I made the switch to more natural, environmentally freindly deodorants around 7 years ago. Since switching I've genuinely seen a massive difference to my sweating levels - I sweated a lot less, to the point where I only really got sweaty after intense exercises. I have recently splashed out and bought the Rollr Deodorant a few weeks ago, after I got fed up with getting painful clogged pores under my arms (I have checked this with my Doctor and she confirmed it was most likely my Deodorant).”
“It's on my list to try. They finally restocked after is being out of stock for months”
“I know this topic has been exhausted on this subreddit. But I feel at such a loss. I have armpit hair and I prefer masculine scents and I haven’t been able to find a good plastic-free deodorant that actually works. I prefer stuff that works— I don’t want something that’s all natural. I really love Wild (I know they are owned by Unilever, I just need something that works) BUT it does not work with armpit hair. It clumps horribly and anytime I wear sleeveless shirts (which is often) you can see th”
“Looking for recommendations for a heavy, unscented vegan and cruelty free body lotion. I’m currently using Plaine Products lotion but it’s not cutting it for my skin. I prefer unscented because some products with scents irritate my skin. submitted by /u/feelgoodsometimes [link] [comments]”
“Heya, *For context - I have tried dozens of natural and refillable deodorants but the only I found that works remotely for me (Routine brand) is unfortunately not effective enough to wear while I do my (very physical and outdoor) job, and so during the week, I rely on deodorant sticks.* That being said, I'm conflicted about the recycling of the containers. First off, I live in Toronto and know that, unfortunately, a very small part of what goes in the recycling bin actually gets recycled. Se”
“Quick tip if you want a super low budget, non toxic and zero waste deodorant just use an alum bar dipped in a little bit of water, it works great blocks odor upto 5-6 hours (coming from a student who's in school almost 8 hours a day) and if it breaks you can use it in plant's like roses or jasmine plus it's no plastic so no need to worry about waste hope this helps happy sustainable living! ☺️ submitted by /u/FickleAffect1460 [link] [comments]”

“Sorry for the rant, but I hope this reminds you to do your research before committing to a reusable product, unlike me! I picked up one of those Wild deodorant sticks because they were on clearance and ended up even cheaper than the single use plastic versions. If you aren't familiar, their version comes with an aluminum applicator that you stick refills inside. In theory, it should work like any other stick deodorant, just twist the bottom and the product comes out as a solid block that you”
“Ran 15 different buyer questions ("best natural deodorant for sensitive skin", "longest lasting aluminum-free deodorant", "underarm irritation from natural deodorant"...) through 5 AI assistants on [date]. 75 answers. Leaderboard by how often each brand was recommended: 1. Native, 45.3% (won on every single AI) 2. Dr. Squatch, 18.7% (but every one of those came from a question that already said "Dr. Squatch") 3. Bulldog, 13.3% 4. Primally Pure, 12% 5. Ever”
“Hey all, so I read a few posts here from folks who switched from Wild to Fussy deodorant and am so glad I made the switch. So far, Fussy has been working significantly better for me than Wild did. I also read that many people were able to use their newer Wild cases with the Fussy deodorant refills which was great since it meant I could reuse my Wild case. However, while it fits, I am finding that there seems to be a lot more waste leftover after. Like smushed all inside the case and at the base.”
“Hi! I used a dry hair type conditioner from Ethique called The Guardian, and they no longer sell it, has anybody got alternatives to that bar? I'm in Canada so I need something that won't "stop shipping to Canada" and that's been reliable. My hair struggles with seborrheic dermatitis so something that can also help that would be greatly appreciated. Link the recommendations if you can! Thanks in advance, cheers! submitted by /u/JP-Cartoons [link] [comments”
“Hello! I've been using a face moisturizer from The Earthling Co for the last year and half. Just went to reorder, and it looks like it has been discontinued :( does anybody have recommendations for similar products? I can be prone to redness/irritation, and this moisturizer was very soothing for my skin and kept it happy. The ingredients list (from EWG): Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter*, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Behenyl Alcohol, Squalane, Gl”
“Yes. Deodorant. Papertowels. Toothpaste. Floss. Mouthwash. Bar soap. Toilet paper. Dish soap. Lots and lots of it, and stored in many places, room, car, bathroom, etc. Its embarrassing having 6 deodorants lmao 🤣”

“Hello! I have just recently learned that WILD has been bought by Unilever. I would like to find an alternative to it, unfortunately most companies seem to be from Europe and don't ship to Japan. Anyone knows an Asian alternative or a brand that ships to Japan? Thank you submitted by /u/wombatsaretanks [link] [comments]”

I know there are a few options on the market in the UK but I can’t find any that ship to the US. I’m kind of at my wits end so I figured I’d ask if anyone knows any antiperspirant options that are at least less waste available in the US? I know people will suggest it but I cannot do alumin”
“It's there crystal deodorant on a rope or something? Any techniques to make it less slippery? I'm sick of abrading my armpits with little shards of rocks. submitted by /u/YouTasteStrange [link] [comments]”
“I’m looking to get some lotion that is low waste/plastic free once I run out of my current tube. I’ve tried a lotion bar, but I found it very oily feeling on my hands and I didn’t like it. Does anyone have recommendations for non greasy plastic free lotion? Something affordable would be appreciated, and I don’t care too much about fancy scents. submitted by /u/Vanilla-phantoms [link] [comments]”
“So I’m looking around for a new car shampoo, I’ve seen Maguires HyperWash is an excellent choice but unfortunately as it only comes in large bottles at around £30-40 this isn’t viable to me at the moment. So my question is, does anyone have any recommendations on a shampoo that I can go pick up from Halfords or somewhere similar that’s going to give me some half decent results? Thanks in advance for any help 👍 submitted by /u/9CookieMonster6 [link] [comments]”
“I didn’t find any answer to my specific question regarding Fussy deodorant refills, so I am trying my luck here. My Fussy odor-less refill worked for a couple of weeks and then started smelling real bad out of nowhere (stench similar to wet socks ew). I tried searching for possible causes, but no one seems to have the same problem. Maybe I just use/store it wrong, or I am using it for too long, but I don`t want to use more refills if it always ends up this bad. Does anyone have a similar problem”

“I’ve been using these reusable organic cotton pads from Illum for years. I really love them! They’re unfortunately going out of sale so their prices are significantly cheaper than usual. I thought I’d share so others could also take advantage of this deal. Make sure you read the listed materials for each item because not everything is made of organic cotton. submitted by /u/Previous_Singer3691 [link] [comments]”
“Mildly frustrated with this company as they used to offer wholesale to groomers on their website. Well they apparently have partnered with groomersmart and now Houndsly doesn’t offer wholesale on their website. So the $52 gallon (if you buy 5-12 gallons) of shampoo in like 15 different scents we used to get easily now we are being told by Houndsly to go to groomersmart. Groomersmart discount on gallons makes them $58.89 per gallon (if you buy 4) and they have 5 scent options and half are always”
“I think I’m ready to ditch tampons but every single brand I find that makes period underwear using polyester in their undies. I’m really trying to get rid of anything plastic in my house. Any recommendations would be appreciated! submitted by /u/Beginning-Mammoth190 [link] [comments]”
“After years and years of trying different conditioners, I finally found one I liked in 2025. Now that I need to buy another one, I see that the company stopped shipping to Canada. If anyone knows about a fragrance-free conditioner bar with the ingredients close to this that I can buy in Canada, please tell me. Glyceryl Stearate Cetearyl Alcohol Shea Butter Mango Butter Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate Glyceryl Oleate Coconut Oil Behentrimonium Chloride (BTAC-228) Isopropyl Alcohol Hydrogenated Olive Oil Ol”
“I ended up ordering a couple of Big Ass Luxuries candles after seeing them recommended a few times online. They\'re definitely more expensive than the candles I\'d normally buy, so I wasn\'t sure if they were actually worth it. After burning them for about a month, I get the appeal. The first thing you notice is the size. They\'re huge, and unlike a lot of decorative candles, they actually feel like they\'ll last a long time. Mine has been burning a few evenings every week an”

“Does this exist? I'm wanting to downsize my cleaning supplies and switch to products that are not only better for my asthma due to some having strong fragrances that have become sensitive but also cruelty free and hopefully pet safe? I'm needing to go through my stash to downsize and have better cleaning products overall. I'm looking for pretty much every item in your home that you recommend using besides floor cleaner, dish soap, and laundry as I have gotten that down so fa”
“I'd love these with a cheap product, especially from some Korean brands that design packaging in very cute ways. With a 60 bucks "science backed" moisturiser which is extremely overpriced at this point? Nope. Money grabber.”
“Hello! I am switching from Wild to Fussy and I have their case for body wash refills. I was wondering if there is a way I could use Fussy refills without buying the the new bottle... Has anyone tried it, please? Thank you :) submitted by /u/munour_rounum [link”
“Thanks for your recommendation. I've tried Native, but the white cast is intense on me. Also, regarding Yuka, it's not a very good app unless you're have some basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, and toxicology. I used to use it because it was a good way for it to flag certain ingredients I personally don't like, but I had enough knowledge to know that some of their red-flag ingredients were not actually harmful at the quantity that they appeared in th”
“I’m currently using humble ( the cardboard tube ) before that I used woohoo body. There’s also meowmeowtweet. I like the cardboard tube over refills just because you can compost it when you’re done and there isn’t that much difference between per refill and per new tube of cardboard yk? Make Waves does sound promising though.”
“https://wearemakewaves.com/ I've been using make waves, they do deoderant and antiperspirant! Similar concept, reusable case, buy the deoderant refills. I prefer this one as wild deodorant made my shirts smell weird in the armpits”
“As I assume many of you here I own a Wild deodorant case, but had to switch to Fussy after Wild was bought by Unilever. Now Fussy is generating multiple pieces of content with AI and deleting comments that complain about it on their social media profiles. Honestly I don't know what to do at this point. I really disliked any other sustainable deodorant and I hate the jar form where you need to get your fingers sticky every single time you use it. How are you guys”
“I saw an ad on instagram from the brand Etee. I’m very curious to try it, mostly the sunscreen and the deodorant. I like the packaging idea and I want to start using less environmentally toxic products. They’re a bit pricy so before I commit has anyone used either of these?”
“I tried the natural deodorant and my armpits felt fine but with the roll on it makes me armpits have a warm sensation when put on at first goes away after a while I’ve never used roll on really before is it just my skin getting use to the different type of formula? I do have sensitive skin so maybe I should use a certain scent?”
“I would love to know this too. My favorite so far is Hey Humans, but it’s still not as good as Dove.”
“No Pong is highly effective, I've found it eons better than big brands such as Dove and Rexona. It has the consistency of a lotion, is in a tin, is natural and has no palm oil. I'm not recommending it because it is natural, I'm recommending it because it works and the packaging is zero waste.”
“Haven't been successful in finding a plastic free option, but I have been able to reduce the amount of plastic by switching to a Nivea roll on liquid which has a glass container, albeit with a plastic applicator and cap.”
“For anyone based in the UK, Make Waves seems like a decent option, much like Helmm, which I saw someone else recommended.”
“Preach!!!! I was wondering about making my own and putting it into cardboard tubes, or refilling an old deoderant package. You can purchase small amounts of aluminum chlorohydrate liquid, and there are a few deoderant recipes floating around. Where I've gotten stuck is how much of the aluminum chlorohydrate to add to the recipe so never took the plunge.”
“It truly is amazing how different bodies are! The crystal was just as bad as not using anything on my armpits. I never would have thought it'd have a positive impact on someone with sweatier armpits than mine.”
“Wild now do an antiperspirant but its quite expensive. I considered it but dunno if i can justify something 5x the price”
“Wild was bought out by Unilever, who are utter shitheads, environmentally speaking”
“I use the Wild Refillable Deodorants. As much as I miss my spray deodorants, I love that the Wild Deodorant is all paper packaging other than the metal deodorant dispenser”
