“At exactly 31 weeks I started to have a lot of regular, painful contractions. After being at L&D triage, I received a positive fetal fibronectin test. I got two doses of Betamethasone shots and took nifedipine until I reached 32 weeks. I recently turned 38 weeks pregnant and…”

“36 yo FTM in USA at 37 weeks. My amniotic fluid has been trending low, so have been going in for regular check ups at my MFM. Went in an hour ago, and fluid was very low. MFM concerned it indicates an issue with the placenta. So she booked me for a C-section today (baby has been…”

“I’m 12 weeks postpartum (I know). I took two clear blue test, one digital one pink dye. Both positive (see photos). This was after I woke up. 2-3 hours later I took two more clear blue test and were negative. Am I just really early? Conception date was possibly 7 days ago I’m almost certain but could have been before. submitted by /u/Journeytothehighest [link] [comments]”

“Hello, I had my child at 35 weeks, 0 days gestation 4 weeks ago and am looking for opinions/answers. I lost my mucous plug at 31 weeks. They looked at my cervix with a speculum (no cervical check) and said it looked fully closed. When I was 33.5 weeks I went into 4 days of intense prodromal labor. I went to L&D the first day of the prodromal labor and was 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I had consistent contractions around 5mins apart that then started to space out. They checked me 2 hours l”

“So I’m 12 weeks pregnant with my third baby. I did the early genetic testing (the ultrasound and bloodwork). I just got a call from my OB that I had tested positive in my bloodwork. She said it came back as like a 1/90 or like 1%~ chance of DS. She said that the indicator was related to my placenta and that it’s entirely possible that because there have been issues with my placentas in previous pregnancies (although nothing too serious) that this caused the results. Either way, I’m going forward”

“I had NTD test done at 16 weeks and it came back slightly elevated at 2.59 MoM. My OB recommended we do it again, so I retook the blood test three days later. This one also cane back elevated at 2.51 MoM. Because of this they referred me to MFM, which their sector is actually not covered by my insurance. I called them on Tuesday, they said they’d put me in the system and call back, I still haven’t heard from them. I’m just waiting in agony. I am now 18 weeks. submitted by /u/Pobodys_”

“Our pediatrician ordered blood work last week and some red flags came up (low iron, high wbc, other high markers) and then he ordered a peripheral smear test the next day. We are still waiting on the peripheral smear test results and it has me worried as hell. Has any other parent had to do that test for their little ones and what did they say? submitted by /u/NovelNothing5374 [link] [comments]”

MFM concerned it indicates an issue with the placenta. So she booked me for a C-section today (baby has been in a breech position since about 30 weeks). I’m totally unprepared! I didn’t even get to go home, a nurse just walked me over to L&D (my husband is on his way with a few things from home). So any recovery tips, recom”

“Hi fellow bumpers. Kind of spiraling and wanted to know if anyone else has been in this situation. I am 36 weeks and went in to the OB today where they did growth scans (for the first time since my 20 week anatomy scan). Babies head and femur are measuring well ahead of schedule, but abdomen was far behind. 10th percentile abdomen, head and femur are both 80th, so not just a “small baby” but disproportionately small in the abdomen. OB doesn’t seem overly concerned. Wants to see me back in a week”

“I’ll try to keep this short. My daughter is 5 months tomorrow. Just when does this stop. When we were pregnant one of the ultra sounds popped a positive for elevated NT score. Then came specialists, more procedures, talks about downs, cardiac issues, and terminating. Finally animostenstiths test came back with a genetic mutation. Brace for the worst. Doc literally said this mutation has zero scientific study and everything fine. Birth, emergency C-section. Happy normal baby. 2 weeks in, insert h”

“For my now 3 year old I had a spontaneous preterm labor at 33 weeks. I tested positive 24hrs before my labor began with the fetal fibronectin swab. Once labor started, We did mag drip for 48 hrs but that didn’t stop it completely. Thankfully the steroids were able to kick in. He didn’t have much nicu time, it was only for feeding purposes. I am now pregnant again at 5 weeks and decided to look up what it means now for a second pregnancy. I see my chances of it happening again is moderate. Lookin”

“Just got the call that I’m positive for Group Strep B at my 36W visit. Looking for some reassurance from Moms who tested positive and are on the other side. I’ve had 4 miscarriages before this pregnancy, so safe to say I’m an anxious wreck and this doesn’t help. I’m also allergic to penicillin. Has anyone received an alternative antibiotic that was effective? Did antibiotics cause any issues for your baby? submitted by /u/Peaks_Parks [link] [comments]”

“My 2 week old has had nonstop congestion (but in her throat more than her actual nose), projectile vomited a few times, constant spit up, extremely gassy/uncomfortable, mucousy poop. Asked the ped today at her appt about possibly having an allergy. They did the microscopic blood test and it came back positive for bloody stool, even though it was not visible to the naked eye. Ped says to try cutting out dairy first. I do suspect my 18 month old son also has a dairy intolerance of some sort but th”

“3 days ago I developed mastitis for the first time ever at 8 days PP. I breastfed my previous baby for a little over a year and never had a clogged duct or mastitis. I got antibiotics and took them over the weekend and got to feeling much better, but last night I spiked a fever again, and now my other side has a hard spot like a clogged duct. Has anyone ever dealt with double mastitis? Is this normal?! submitted by /u/Visual_Bid_6009 [link] [comments]”

“hi, i’m exclusively nursing and was wondering how you guys give your LOs vitamin d drops. The directions say not to directly drop into baby’s mouth. it says it can be mixed into formula, breast milk, juice, or other foods but she doesn’t take anything else but the booby! Do you just drop it on your booby for the LO to take? submitted by /u/AppointmentTop5602 [link] [comments]”

“My four month old got a cold with a low grade fever sixteen days ago. The fever and cough have subsided, but we are still battling significant congestion. We have tried standing in the bathroom during warm showers, a cool mist humidifier, saline drops and spray, and the nose Frida. We are aware that overuse of the nose Frida can cause increased irritation so we’ve been using it at most twice a day, and have taken multiple day breaks from using it at all. It is feeling like congestion is getting”

“5 weeks reporting in. I was losing my mind with sleepless nights and absolute inconsolable crying. Then hubby told me what days are like: simple. I thought we were raising two different kids. His trick to get baby to settle: over-burping. I was like, I literally do not have the muscle mass for that. Had hubby show me his burping method. Repeated everything last night with my muscle accommodations. I just mentally think of this as "beat the shit out of kid". Like, 30 min of burping: pat”

“Has anyone tested positive for fetal fibronectin in the second trimester, indicating a higher risk of preterm birth, and if so what happened? I'm 25 weeks and went into triage for intense braxton hicks. I was offered a cervical exam and a fetal fibronectin test which came back positive for preterm labour. I was told I would need to stay in to be monitored, might need steroids and might need to be transferred to a specialist unit. A few minutes later I was offered a cervical scan which showed”
