“Was super excited to sign a primary care job in WA and move out here. Now I’m just sitting jobless because the Department of Health (WA Medical Commission) is taking forever to issue my license. It’s been over 8 months since I applied. Everything is turned in :FCVS, transcripts…”

Several posts express frustration with lengthy licensing processes for physician assistants, diagnostic uncertainty regarding medical lumps, and challenges in accessing timely healthcare services. There's also concern about documentation accuracy and the burden of chronic illness management.

“How much of pain was hospital credentialing compared to NYS licensing? I have heard people tell me it is going to take 4-6 months for hospital credentialing. If thats the case it’s going to be very tough for me financially, I need to start ASAP. Does anyone know how much power I have in the context of speeding up hospital credentialing? In other words is there a big ROI of being a thorn to the hospitals credentialling department or would I be wasting my time and I just have to let the process ha”

It’s been over 8 months since I applied. Everything is turned in :FCVS, transcripts, background check, the whole deal. Portal just says "Under Review." When I email them, it takes weeks to get a automated copy-paste reply saying "we are reviewing applications in the order received." P”

“I submitted my application for licensure for the state of Washington in the first week of July. It's been almost 7 weeks not. There IS a licensure number that has been assigned to me and it is visible in SAW. Yesterday I called and asked for a status update and was told they will be starting to review applications submitted JUNE 26th and it takes up to 6 weeks after that. My mind spun as I reviewed the calendar in my little brain and realized it will be well over a month before they even sta”

“Maybe a strange question but I’m wondering how much detail you all give on licensing applications when they ask about conditions that can affect practice? I’ve been very healthy up to the last year when I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I recently renewed my state license and checked the no box on illness that could affect my practice but after the fact thought about it and wondered if I should have disclosed? I’m treated and don’t have any symptoms but theoretically it could affect my practi”

“How long after being in the “pending approval” stage does the license come out? I called and they told me I was in the final quality check. Also, for those who needed fingerprints, was it requested before or after the pending approval stage? Thanks! submitted by /u/dentalschoolwish [link] [comments]”

“For those who are licensed in AZ, how long was the wait after mailing your licensure application? Jobs are asking me to give them an estimated start date, but I don’t know how long it will take. Thank you! submitted by /u/Sad_Scholar_7039 [link] [comments]”

“Big post ahead… I just graduated in May in NC and licensing here takes approx 4 months. I accepted a job in May for a level 3 ED in the area where I graduated. The onboarding is 3 months and sounds solid. Nice group and i’d be onboarding with a classmate starting in Oct. On the other hand, I interviewed with a group in charlotte that does a structured 6 month onboarding with a small cohort of 3-5 people and is guaranteed employment. Full time pay begins at day 1 for each position. This job accep”

“Hey everyone! I have a lump in my neck, really actually under my jaw. It's right in the middle and I thought that lymph nodes were to the side. Urgent care said it's a blocked/enflamed salivary gland, but I feel like it's a mistaken diagnosis. I noticed it about a week ago, and it hurt when I would stretch my neck out/up or look down. Good news is that it seems to have gone down, I think, but it's still there and I still feel it. It worries me and I don't want to over think a”

Going into a Hematologist very soon, but any ideas would put my mind at ease So. These results have always been elevated since I was 14-15. I'm 26 now, 11-12 years of them getting progressively worse and worse. My CRP is now extremely concerning so I'd very much like to get to the bottom of this. AFAB 26 year old. I have a bunch of ot”

“Is anyone’s clinic closed on Friday but open on Saturday the 4th? Not an urgent care, but just a regular, Monday-Saturday family medicine clinic? My friend works for one. I didn’t believe it until he showed me his open schedule. Why not just let people go to the ED? Who’s going to schedule their annual pap or well-child visit on the 4th of July? The firework finger amputations have to go to the ED anyway! submitted by /u/radgedyann [link] [comments]”

“I submitted my application about 5 weeks ago. It took them 3 weeks to tell me they needed finger prints which I got and have been accepted for 2 weeks. They told me that it will take another 3-4 weeks for them to even START processing my licensure. My start date is supposed to be September 7th but my job told me accreditation through them can take another 90 days…if it does take a full 90 days we are already way past that point if I am to start on 9/7. My job told me they still will plan for 9/7”

“I told my PCP my left side hurt. She touched my left side/lat and I said it hurt. So she wrote "Left shoulder/arm pain... come tender on exam" but I don't understand how that's my shoulder/arm. I said it felt full. She asked if it was like a cramp and I said kinda, not really. She wrote that "it feels like a muscle cramp." She wrote nothing else about that. I told her it started hurting when I was sitting up and it hurts when I sit up. I didn't add anymore because”
