“I have an older Goodman furnace and the fan will just randomly run every once in awhile for a short time and shut off. I installed a new thermostat and know that isn't the issue. I will have the thermostat set to cool and auto but the outdoor unit doesnt turn on just the fan…”

Many repairs have been ineffective, leading to frustration and emergency situations.

Four companies gave me quotes, all said the 4 ton size was appropriate for a heat pump. The handler seems quite loud, at least louder than I'd expect compared to the old system. It cycles on for about 5 minutes and then shuts off. It ramps up to full speed every time it turns on, and I hear a”
“Hey! I have a -ecobee thermostat -Copacitor is getting power - the unit in the attic boots - the A/C unit outside won’t spin - changed out the filter I don’t know what to do. It 88 degrees in my house submitted by /u/ConstructionPrize459 [link] [comments]”
“As you can see by the Set To digit display and the faded cool on display, I'm getting some very inconsistent readings at the thermostat. I noticed it first while i was sitting at my PC which is located on the other side of the wall from the outdoor unit. The unit hummed on for about 3-5 seconds then shut off. The air handler inside stayed running for about a min after. Now im getting a "COOL ON" signal that is flashing inconsistently. This isnt a normal safety mode flash with consi”

“Hey I have a new York r454 system YC3 condenser with Tm9v furnace. The ac runs for hours when I’m there but every time I leave the builder calls me to say when he shows up it has stopped working. The stat is blank and no error codes on mitigation board or furnace. I arrived once and have seen the same thing checked for power coming in the furnace it is good. But still no codes or anything and Tstat is blank. Reset the power and everything is fine. Wondering if anyone has a had a similar experien”

Thankfully, the house has a generator so the electricity has come back on, but the Wi-Fi/cable/telephone have not. Why isn’t the AC working? Shouldn’t the generator be powering it like it’s powering the lights, appliances, etc… why does it seem like it needs Wi-Fi? This happened previously in a power outage, too. The thermostat has some error messages th”
“It seems a delicate game with trying to make sure both sub cooling and super heat are balanced. Have a buddy with an overcharged system, sub cooling was about 40-50. The tech removed gas and SC did drop, but then super heat shot up and they over collected and had to put new gas back in. Once more gas was added it ended up pushing SC back up why trying to improve SH. While watching the wet/dry glass on the gauge while the gas getting removed noticed a lot of oil being removed as well. New gas was”
“Sorry for the newbie question. I have a Bosch BOVB-36HDN1-M18M and an ecobee smart thermostat. I was wondering if the Bosch unit simply turns on and off when ac is called from the ecobee or if the the Bosch reads the indoor temperature from the ecobee and adjust the unit to speed up or down the cooling. I believe the Bosch has some sort of variable stage that adjusts to the need of the ac. How does it know if it needs to cool 2 degrees or 5 degrees? Sometimes I measure the cool air blowing into”
“We bought a new build 3 years ago, came with a Carrier two-stage heat pump. This summer we realized it was not keeping up with cooling the house and most of our vents started sweating. We would set the thermostat for 71 and by 2pm will lose ground and by 6pm will be 78/79. Context, we live in Texas. Our house is foam insulated. Highs lately have been in the low/mid 90s. Humidity indoors is 60+, but we have a little dehumider going, which brings down the humidity a bit. We’ve had two companies co”
