“Hi all, I've been using a portable AC unit in my bedroom for years because I have casement windows but last year I started experiencing voltage sag during the hottest days of the year and it happened again this week when temps are 100+ and it's been miserable. I have a senior…”

“Hello, my dad had a new a/c system put in last weekend. When I went to follow up on it I was shocked to find this. The tech told him he needed to make a cover but that man is now gone in the wind so I need to try and salvage this. Any ideas on what I could do here? submitted by /u/9th_Prince [link] [comments]”
“Hi all, I've been using a portable AC unit in my bedroom for years because I have casement windows but last year I started experiencing voltage sag during the hottest days of the year and it happened again this week when temps are 100+ and it's been miserable. I have a senior dog that I'm trying to keep comfortable and it's been a lot of cooling packs while the portable AC doesn't work properly, but I'm now finally looking at trying to install a window unit. My problem is”
“Thanks in advance for your help! This room is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. I am remodeling the whole room at the moment and would like to remove the old 70s register and put in a modern rectangular one in a different location. What I would like to do: Replace the existing duct with a 7” or 8” duct. Any recommendations? The ductwork connection looks kind of haphazard. Any recommendations on this, or is there a video you can point me to on joining two flexible air ducts like t”

“Hey folks, Upstairs unit is blowing hot air. Air upstairs is blowing hotter than outside temps. 3 ton unit I believe. Live in North FL and it’s been humid. Changed the filter, vacuumed the drain pipe, and I noticed the outside unit is blowing out cold air. Both copper pipes are scorching hot coming in/out of the outside unit. No breaker trips, noises, or anything other signs of compressor going out. Google is pointing me towards it being either compressor or refrigerant issue. Does it just need”
“I will call an HVAC company but could this be due to the air handler being in the attic in central florida? Anyone ever seen this? The air handler is about 15 years old so probably need to replace. Excerpt from inspection report: The air conditioning system was observed to produce heat temperatures exceeding 150°F during operation. This is significantly higher than normal operating ranges and may indicate a malfunction within the system, such as an issue with the heating element, thermostat, or”
“Has anyone gone from a Honeywell EMM-3U universal electronic minizone panel to a Honeywell TrueZONE HZ432 4-Zone Control Panel, 3H/3C ? I’m having issues with my 2nd floor not cooling. It’s set at 73 and is 79-80 degrees until about midnight, then it starts to cool down. I was told I needed to replace the control zone, dampers and duct plenum. I’m trying to keep cost down and can replace the board on my own. Just want some opinions on the Honeywell replacement. submitted by /u/Rodz84”
“Theres many problems and questions i have for this community that i am facing but ill do one at a time and I'll try to keep it short. Problem: I live in an old double wide mobile home with single pane windows In Central CA. AC unit having hard time keeping up so I bought 3 window units. 1 unit in each of the living rooms and 1 in the main bedroom. The units help but I can feel heat coming in from all the floor vents. It seems that where the airduct connects to the vents was poorly installed.”
“Any solutions? My sons room is 2-3 warmer than the rest of the house. Yes is the room furthest away from the furnace. Short of replacing my builder furnace are there any solutions? submitted by /u/Old_Chemical9361 [link] [comments]”
“I have a roommate who always keeps his door closed, and the ecobee shows his room is always a few degrees warmer than the rest of the house. The room does not have any of those vent grills that allows air to move between rooms when the door is closed. Would cutting one of those into the drywall above the door help alleviate this temperature issue? submitted by /u/Neothin87 [link] [comments]”
“Need suggestions for repair / replacement for my damaged cover (most likely custom). Not sure of gauge or material, but seems like 18 / 16 gauge galvanized? Thanks in advance for the help! submitted by /u/raiinmachine [link] [comments]”

I believe I blew a fuse but am not finding much of anything online of where the fuse is or how to replace it. Second question is it ever worth trying? submitted by /u/throllplack6 [link] [comments]”
