Multiple users report excessively loud toilet flushing, specifically mentioning an Eco Flush B8203 model. They seek solutions to reduce the noise, including adjusting pressure or using Styrofoam peanuts.

“The toilet keeps making this trickling sound which runs for several minutes. I’ve made sure that the stop valve is fully open. What else can I adjust? Thank you! submitted by /u/stevheng [link] [comments]”

“I just moved into a duplex and every time I flushed the toilet, it makes a groaning sound. It gets worse if I use the bathroom sink along with the flush. It seems to happen when large quantity of water is moving. I want to shut off the water to my portion of the duplex and drain all the water out to see if that fixes the problem. Possible water hammer, but it is more of a vibration and lasts 2 secs. I'm assuming it is either valves in pic 2, but I wanted to really make sure before I screw so”

“I've just had a new toilet installed in our ensuite - the bed is not very far away. Our old toilet was very quiet. Is this an acceptable noise level and should I just put up with it and get a life? submitted by /u/Ok_Understanding5823 [link] [comments]”

“Is it normal to hear plumbing noises when someone flushes their toilet? I mean this is a loud banging and whooshing sound. I've only lived in 2 apartments so I'm not sure. This is a brand new build but apparently it wasn't done well. submitted by /u/Wild_Journalist1630 [link] [comments]”

“Hello all, was wondering if anyone had an idea what could be causing this sound from the toilet. It’s just about constant. Toilet functions fine. Would this be a DIY fix or require professional help? Thanks in advance. submitted by /u/Plus-Antelope6405 [link] [comments]”

“It seems to happen randomly. Sometimes I'll notice it when the shower is running or if we flush our other toilet, but sometimes it's when nothing is happening at all, like just now. It's like a big air bubble forces its way up and splashes everywhere. What could be causing it? We live in a townhome so I'm wondering if maybe a neighbor's plumbing might also be involved but I don't know much about how that would work. submitted by /u/funtimescoolguy [link]”

“We have two of these in a home we purchased earlier this year. The other one works fine, but this one is so incredibly loud. I have opened it up and tightened every screw, but it still sounds like a plane taking off. Any advice on how to address this? submitted by /u/bougiebuttstuff [link] [comments]”

“My house was built in 1952. Major addition/remodel in 1992 with a new toilet in 1992. Seattle. Wood frame with concrete daylight basement. A lot of copper from the addition/remodel but I have seen some older pipes. I started noticing a few months ago, sometimes (not always) when I flush the toilet or run the bath water in the master bath there is a low vibration noise coming from the other side of the house near where the water main enters the house while the water is running. Should I be worrie”

“I have a toilet that, after flushing, there is some creaking in the pipes heard from the floor (maybe 3-5 creaks). Does anyone know what could be causing this and how urgent it is to fix? submitted by /u/RoyDonk81 [link] [comments]”

“It won’t stop. It’s bothering me and I can’t ignore it because the toilet is connected to my bedroom, so it’s all I hear. Help! submitted by /u/Special_Crab_1884 [link] [comments]”

“Turn the volume up! My phone doesn't pick up the volume as loudly as it is in real life. Trying to work out if this delayed loud gurgling at the end is normal or what it could possibly be? Its been new ever since a main line sewer backup on the same floor that was scoped and fixed. Draining is happening normally. The entire pipe work including p-trap is spotless underneath the sink. We even replaced the non-serviceable AAV we had to an Oatey Sure-Vent to rule that out but its made no differe”

“Most times when we flush the toilet in our master bath the tub in the bathroom gurgles. If feels like air pushing up through the tub, not sucking water from the p trap. My roof is very steep so from inside my attic I cut the vent pipes off and tried to listen for water running, which I could heard so that lead me to believe it wasn’t a venting issue. But I’m willing to reconsider that if someone tells me otherwise. submitted by /u/ArchangelPrecision [link] [comments]”

“Any ideas on what is causing my new toilet to make these noises when flushing? We recently remodeled a bathroom and installed a Kohler smart toilet in the process. It’s a Kohler Leap 1.28 GPF Dual Flush. It worked fine at first, but after a week or so it began behaving as you can see in the video. We didn’t relocate the toilet from its previous position and the plumbing was not fundamentally changed. There were new fittings installed to connect the new toilet, but the drain was not changed. “I have a dual flush American standard toilet, and when I use the single flush button I get a loud thump sound shortly after releasing the button. It does not happen when using the dual flush button. Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it? The noise is much louder when I have the cover on. Also this is not a new issue and has been happening since I moved into my house a few years ago. submitted by /u/sbielawa [link] [comments]”

“5 toilets in four story townhouse. When any of them are flushed there’s a pipe moaning/fog horn type of noise coming from behind the wall of first floor utility room/closet where water heater is located and where all pipes enter the home. No noise comes from the toilets themselves. This noise does not occur when any sinks or showers are running in the home, it’s only the toilets. Noise immediately stops once the tank is refilled. If water supply to toilet is turned off the noise does not occur,”

“Eco Flush B8203 in a Power Source MT-20205A I'm a long-term renter in a 1960's-era house. The old toilet rusted itself apart and the owner replaced it with this. It's very effective, but it is LOUD like an airplane lavatory. You can feel it through the floor, and it makes my ears ring! Is there anything I can do to calm it down? Styrofoam peanuts in the tank? Only half joking... submitted by /u/m4gpi [link] [comments]”
