“I moved into an apartment in a big city about 3 weeks ago, and already have a rat! I have never lived in the city before so I have never dealt with this kind of thing, and I am terrified, after reading about all the…”
“Just bought a 2005 VW Jetta that was in storage for 5 years. Interior stinks really bad of mice pee/ poop. There was a nest in the trunk, and also the entire firewall under the plastic scuttle where the wipers are was lodged with the material from the sound deadening mat that was affixed to the underside of the hood, filled with mouse poop and found a dead petrified mouse in there too. Pretty sure I got everything out, but how can I remedy the interior? Obviously all the seats are coming out and”
“Hello all, I'm about to move into an older house (built 1930, OH) and want to get ahead of any pest issues before I and a couple of roommates move in. Current situation: A few stray cats hang around the yard and patio, and I'm pretty sure they have fleas. I've seen one or two fleas while working in the backyard and one on the patio. I haven't seen any inside, and I'd like to keep it that way. Previous owner had her outdoor cats come in and outside, so I’d imagine there may be”
“This may have been asked previously. But do the corn cellulose baits work? The ones that make them die of thirst. Or should I stick with warfarin baits? And is it a good idea to use it indoors? The pest control guys told us that they would use poison to clear out mice outside and also indoors and also seal entry holes. They told us that dying mice are “okay” inside drywall. But it’s rats that will have a foul smell. I was wondering if this is true? I saw online that mice will also create foul od”
“So the pic is the flies in my room I assumed fruit fly idk. So basically over the past like 2 months or so I just haven’t cleaned my room. I’ve taken out trash or tried to at least put stuff in trash bags and clean laundry just don’t rlly put it up. I’m rlly stress rn for the past few months as I’m in school and marching band which is a 12hr+ day type thing yk. So I get one day a week to rest and do as much school work and stuff I can. However we’d always hear scratching in the walls and found very little droppings under the stove. We told our landlord there’s always scratching but he said there’s gonna be mice bc we live next to a small cow field and it shouldn’t be an issue. My question is couldn’t they be a hazard? Could they chew a wire or smth and cause issues or even”
“Hi, so me and my boyfriend have been dealing with mice since shortly after moving into this apartment building. We’ve done pretty much everything we can, we have traps out pretty much in every room and everywhere I’ve seen them. I clean our kitchen every day so I know there’s no possible food scraps left out. We have a sealed garbage can and we use the mint bags. We live in Minnesota and it being October I know they’re wanting to probably get inside at this time. I spotted one today after at lea”
“So a few months ago I had a rat in my home, we finally caught it, it died and we moved on. Tonight however, I came home and we had another one and the same place however this time it got caught by the tail and didn’t die. So I picked it up, put it in a bag and banged it around. I know that sounds terrible but it’s all I knew to do. However, I think it was a super rat because it kept moving. I was in a hurry and needed to just get it done. So when I thought I had it finally done the job, I put it”
“I believe that I have phorid flies in my bathroom. I have identified them from Google. I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them and nothing works permanently. I tried to seal any cracks in my bathroom, I’ve tried the stuff you pour down the drain, baking soda, pine sol, I’ve cleaned and scrubbed my drain with the thing that pulls out hair and a brush until it was clean but NOTHING works. I have some traps which do catch some but I still see them all the time. submitted by /u/Compet”

“Hi all. Thanks in advance for your advice and comments. Queens NY Going to keep this short. In the last 8 weeks we’ve been dealing with a rodent issue in our attached town home. I’ve been reading everything online and on Reddit (thanks Pcd for all the work you put into your stickies). During that time we’ve trapped one rodent (picture of it included) in our attic where we’ve been hearing activity at night. We’ve also got a nightly visitor in our ground-level kitchen and living rooms. Been settin”
“hi so for context i am in student accommodation in the uk and i know silverfish are very common here especially in halls today i have found a silverfish, what a believed to be a baby one and also a ‘long-tailed silverfish’. it was around 1-1.5inches long and terrified me as i have a bad phobia of bugs. i also did try to catch it but it was too fast and i didnt manage but have checked my sheets and under my mattress ect and its not there. i have also bought disposable dehumidifiers and places two”
“Moved into terraced flat in London, one bedroom renting. Quickly realised there is a problem with mice. Contacted landlord who sent her own pest control guy out the same night so felt good about it being dealt with. He put down bags of poison. Came back a week later to check them and seal the holes. He has left bags of poison that are half chewed and spilling across the bottom of the clothes cupboard floor. Contacted him and landlord and they are saying that the bait needs to be left as a precau”
“I moved to an apartment and the first two nights I slept in it I saw a silverfish (?) at the top of my walls and even on ceiling. As far as I know silverfish dont usually crawl like that. When looking at the anatomy of the long-tailed silverfish they do have longer hairs than the one I saw. Can somebody tell me if these are regular silverfish or the long-tailed ones. Or maybe something other than these two? Thank you in advance. submitted by /u/Own_Perception3437 [link] [commen”

“Hey everyone! So I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands. We recently moved into a new house in a fairly wooded area. Lots of wildlife around us, including some unwanted chipmunks. Outside of the million burrowing holes they have made in the ground around our property, they also appear from the sound of it to be in our walls. We had some pest control guys out here who took some pictures and found several entry points. They quoted me around $2,000 to seal up all of the holes which is a bit insane a”
“Have a bit of a rat problem in the attic. Don’t want to use poison. Looking for recommendations for rat traps and rat glue that you’ve found work the best. Could y’all help me? Thanks. submitted by /u/InflationFun3255 [link] [comments]”
“I live below ground level and the landlords said they'd have to open the wall to figure out the source, which they don't want to do. Two years ago there was a single mouse and it got out and went into the glue trap. No issues for the rest of the winter. Based on photos I think it was a deer mouse. Last winter they still got in and the bait box was effective in killing them. This year I have been hearing one for weeks now. I don't know what to do. I am not a dirty person. Most walls a”
“Found in my garage. It's been about 90° here the past few days. This was left overnight. Edit to add - Google image search said it could be toad/frog, rat, lizard. We do have skinks around here, but when I searched lizard poop, I'm not convinced. submitted by /u/how_I_kill_time [link] [comments]”
“I live in Australia and have moved into this new rental a few days back. There is quite an apparent mouse problem inside our place(lots of droppings) I didn’t want the pest control man to use poison initially as our neighbors have cats that go in and out. My worry was if a mouse got poisoned and went outside and the cat ate it , the cat would then get sick. Pesto control called me back and told me secondary poisoning is a myth. Is this true? Google searching I’m seeing a mix of answers, I really”

The boiler is in that cupboard and the pipes run upwards into another cavity which I’ve checked no droppings. But just above the apron and boiler im hearing the rodent. “Help. I’ve lived in my house for 3 years. Only in the last 6-12 months, I’ve noticed silver trails across my living room rug and carpet… on the odd occasion when I’ve been up in the early hours and watching tv, I’ve found a couple on the rug so have picked them up and disposed of them outside. I’ve checked along the exterior with a builder and there doesn’t seem to be any entry points as no cracks to the cement or brickwork. However, we had the downpipe crack when we moved in which led to water”

“Okay. I'm typing this as I'm hiding in my bathroom as it's the only safe place left from the mice. One's in my living room and another is in my bedroom. I'm a person with a severe musophobia and I'm literally in tears with how helpless I feel. My parents are asleep in the next room, waking them up is not a option. It's 2 am currently and I don't know how much longer am I gonna be hiding in here, probably till 5 am. Earlier, I used to think daytime was safe. That w”
“Hello, So I currently live in my grandfather’s basement for financial reasons, but down here has been a bad gnat problem. At first we thought it was from the backed-up floor drain in the bathroom (fixed now). We have put drain fly and gnat killer down pretty much every drain down here - shower, washing machine tub, kitchen sink and the floor one. Nothing is working. We don’t know where it’s coming from or how to stop it. They aren’t really in the bathroom anymore but now congregate around the ki”

“(at least I suspect they're fruit flies). Have a lot of them in my bedroom, have removed all the things they could get into except for my cats' food. Put a Zevo plugin in the wall a week ago but its barely gotten any of them. Just put two sticky traps up today in the areas they're more present and planning to deep clean my trashbin and vacuum the floor tomorrow. “We live in a row of townhomes, we rent and for the last 2 winters we've had mice. They seem to be getting worse every season. My neighbor who also deals with the HOA said they tried getting an exterminator but whatever they did didn't work so they just deal w it. I'm assuming all 10 townhomes are getting them. We also live directly across from the beach. It's not winter yet and we've killed 3 mice in the last few days! They seem to be coming in behind the wall in our kitchen.”
“Lease specifically says no traps or poison in the unit, something about liability for the building I guess. Saw a mouse dart under the fridge last week. “Hey! I’m hoping someone with pest control experience, or someone who has dealt with a similar situation, can give me some advice. I’ve lived in a mid-terraced house in the north of England for about 5 years. Around this time last year we started hearing noises in the loft, which turned out to be rats. We paid pest control around £400 in total. They essentially put poison down and advised us to stuff wire/“iron wool” into any accessible brick vents. They also told us the rats weren’t actually nes”
“We’ve been trying to trap a mouse that we’ve seen signs of in our house for a while now, and I just found him inside of a trashcan, unable to get out. He’s alive. What should I do? “I have this house Im remodeling and the more I pull back, the more mouse signs I find. Nests and poop. The funny thing is that the previous owners had pets and the house had a certain smell to it that I thought was the pests. I sprayed enzyme over everything and it didn't touch the smell. But now I'm pulling out kitchen cabinets and some walls in some places and what I'm finding scares me because I'm worried we're going to do all this work and move into a house with a permane”
“Hi all, I have been renting at this location going on 5 years. I have always had an issue with mice when the fall months come around and the corn fields nearby get equipment in them. Ive seen 2 mice in 3 days. Since then, ive patched a hole behind the fridge with steel wool, which is the only hole I could find when looking around my 1 bedroom apartment. I am also a very clean person, to paint a picture so to speak I have put glue + snap traps down around the apartment with a single bait box prov”

I do not want to deal with mice, it’s my biggest fear. “Michigan, 3/4 in exactly, slow moving even with light shines on it. Found inside the home on a rainy day. I plan on setting traps as this was the only one I've found. I even tore the kitchen apart cleaning everything to check. The plan right now is to set traps and wait. “Everyone i've spoken to in my day to day life seems to be struggling with Gnats in some form at home. I have had a very incredibly horrific time with them recently to the point i had to bomb my house and leave it for a week with how stressed out and jumpy the amount of my gnats made me. I even had to throw out my entire trashcan. I finally came back home and for a few hours of peace? I didn't see a single one. I thought the bombing had worked. I've seen plenty of dead ones around too”
“So, I’m just sitting here coloring, and I’ve killed at least 15 roaches!! We’re over ran and the exterminator comes every month!! Also there is a rat in the kitchen!! I rent my house and the landlord has sent pest control 10 times now and the bait he's putting under the kickboards and inside the under sink cupboard is being consumed every time.
