“I used to clean whenever the mess became impossible to ignore. I would spend hours doing everything at once and then feel like the house was messy again a few days later. Recently I started doing one small thing every evening before bed. I spend about 10 minutes putting things…”
“Okay so most sprays actually need a few minutes to work. If you spray and immediately wipe, you're basically just smearing dirt around instead of letting it break down. Spray it, walk away for like 5-10 min, then wipe. Game changer on soap scum, hard water spots, and grease on…”
“Parent of a crawling baby. I've hit the point where "it looks clean" doesn't feel like enough anymore. The floor can look fine and still have a thin film from whatever the last mopping cycle left behind. Like I'll walk barefoot after mopping and my feet still feel slightly…”

“Parent of a crawling baby. I've hit the point where "it looks clean" doesn't feel like enough anymore. The floor can look fine and still have a thin film from whatever the last mopping cycle left behind. Like I'll walk barefoot after mopping and my feet still feel slightly tacky, or there's a faint chemical smell hours later. My daughter's face is literally on the floor several hours a day. Hands go from floor to mouth nonstop. I want something more concrete than vi”
“This was accidental. I had a busy month and couldn't keep up with my usual whole-apartment cleaning, so I started doing the three areas that looked dirty fastest: the few feet inside my front door, the floor directly in front of the kitchen counters, and the area around my bathroom sink. Maybe 10 minutes total most days. After a couple weeks I noticed something weird. The rest of the apartment wasn't getting dirty nearly as fast either. Apparently I had been treating every room like it g”
“I used to leave small cleaning jobs until I had enough time to do everything properly. That usually meant the dishes stayed in the sink, the counter got cluttered and by the weekend I had a much bigger mess to deal with. One evening I decided not to do a full clean. I just set a timer for five minutes and cleaned whatever I could before it went off. I washed a few dishes, cleared the counter and quickly swept the floor. It was not perfect, but the room immediately felt calmer. Since then, I have”
“I used to clean whenever the mess became impossible to ignore. I would spend hours doing everything at once and then feel like the house was messy again a few days later. Recently I started doing one small thing every evening before bed. I spend about 10 minutes putting things back where they belong and wiping the surfaces I used that day. It sounds too simple, but it has made a huge difference. My weekend cleaning takes much less time now and I don't get that overwhelming feeling of having”

“Hello, I’m moving into a new home in the next two weeks and have realized that I am really, really, really lacking when it comes to my household cleanliness. I want my new place to stay clean. I want it to smell good and not have animal fur everywhere. I want to be proud of my house instead of embarrassed. I wasn’t taught growing up what a clean households looks like or how to maintain one. Not trying to make any excuses but give some perspective. What things do you do on a regularly/weekly/dail”
“For the longest time I thought I was doing something wrong because no matter how carefully I cleaned my bedroom it never seemed to stay clean for very long. I would dust the shelves wipe the dresser vacuum the floor and even clean the windowsill. Everything looked great when I finished but by the next evening I could already see a thin layer of dust starting to settle again. At first I blamed the windows because I like having fresh air in the room during the day. Then I wondered if it was becaus”
“One bottle was used for avocado oil and the other for olive oil. Looking dirty and greasy inside and outside. Soaking in warm water and dish soap and then scrubbing with a brush did not do much. submitted by /u/Beelzebub1100 [link] [comments]”
“For years I kept waiting until I had enough energy to do a full deep clean. I would look around and see dusty shelves fingerprints on doors crumbs under the table and laundry waiting to be folded. The more I noticed the more I wanted to avoid starting because it felt like there was no way I could finish everything in one day. A few weeks ago I made a promise to myself that I would clean for just five minutes whenever I noticed something bothering me. If the kitchen counter looked messy I wiped i”
“my cat knocked over an entire cup of coffee on my carpet. so far I have tried folex, baking soda & vinegar, & my little green machine & this is the result. ive searched this sub but it looks like the top reccs are things ive already tried. any special cleaners/advice? submitted by /u/Fantastic-Stress-562 [link] [comments]”
“In the title. I used a brush with a long handle you would normally use to clean dishes, went all over the shower. When I see the dirty water in the shower tray, I rinse it down with the hose. Now, I'm either lazy or always looking for methodical shortcuts, call it what you will. But I think grime like that is less likely to accumulate it if can be prevented. For example, if once a week I can throw a bucket of diluted bleach over it, I would do it. Advice? submitted by /u/Ill_Bar7”
“So today we bought our little girl a new pair of shoes, and in the same day she managed to drop pasta on them, leaving the sauce behind on the sole! We’ve tried The Pink Stuff, washing up liquid, White Oxi Powder, but none of them are making a dent sadly! Has anyone got any tips on how to get this out and to get me out of the dog house with my wife? submitted by /u/ItsShippoLDN [link] [comments]”
“My toddler dropped a whole sippy cup of chocolate milk in the second row of my 2024 Telluride last week. Most of it went right into the tracks where the captain's chairs slide back and forth. I wiped up what I could reach with paper towels and sprayed it with some generic interior cleaner but now that the car sat in the sun for two days it smells like literal death inside. I can’t get a brush or a cloth deep enough into the metal tracks to clean out whatever soaked into the carpet underneath”
“Hi all. My wife discovered two strange discolorations on one of her favorite jumpsuits. (it's okay, you can make jokes-- but that's probably not what it is) We're not sure how long they've been there, it may be over a year old now. It's most likely drips from some kind of food, like chips and dip or something, but there's no real way to be certain. I'd love to find a way to remove these stains safely, without discoloring or damaging the fabric. Unfortunately, the tag”
