“Ughhh, no matter how many times I tell my bf he, once again, didn’t empty his pockets before putting his dirty clothes in the hamper. Now our dryer is covered in blue ink. Tried scrubbing at it with my general cleaning spray to no avail. Suggestions? submitted by /u/just_a_tired_flower [link] [comments]”
“i have had my drip Mr. coffee maker for 3 years now and hadn’t cleaned it once (obviously i have washed the carafe and filter thing many times! i mean the whole machine) and recently i noticed my coffee tasting weird. so i ran vinegar and water through it and then a bunch of just water cycles. my coffee tastes a little better, BUT the water reservoir still smells SO bad. like a little like barbecue? the problem is it’s not detachable, it’s part of the machine so i can’t scrub it with soap and wa”
“Hi guys, We bought a glasswash machine on the cheap and need to clean it up before we can use it. Attached is a video of the machine, we’ve tried Vaikal and it just won’t get it. Any tips would be greatly appreciated 🙏🙏 Thank you ☺️ submitted by /u/Unknown___17 [link] [comments]”
“I’ve actually done several cleaning cycles and used bleach before, but the smell kept coming back. That’s why I don’t think it’s just a matter of cleaning the washer. Since I stopped using both machines, the smell has disappeared. I’m more concerned about the ventilation, which still hasn’t been inspected. [re: Could my washer being hooked up backwards explain my crazy hot water bills and the musty smell in my laundry room?]”
“Hi guys, I have been struggling with washing dark clothes in the washing machine from past 3 years now. First I thought it was the washing machine's fault, then I thought maybe its our cat's fur or something which has some reaction. Now we changed the washing machine and we dont have any cats around (don't ask why, its a sad story). Guess what we still have? These annoying white stains. It has destroyed a lot of our dark clothes. Is it the detergent powder? Should I switch to liquid”
“A black pen exploded in the dryer. I’ve accepted that the load of clothes in there is toast, but how do I prevent future loads from being damaged? I tried scrubbing with bleach wipes but it didn’t help much. submitted by /u/maxiesmom23 [link] [comments]”
“It also smells like mildew inside. I did my best to clean it with bleach, Lysol, vinegar, baking soda, washing machine tablet, hot water, etc. but the half-inch thick, half wet, half dry brown circular sludge I cleaned up on the floor underneath it worries me. Fixable or better to get a whole new one? submitted by /u/jilldotjpeg [link] [comments]”
“Would love to get some other people’s thoughts on this but I’m trying to figure out if my dishwasher is dirty or if it’s the type of cleaning pods I’m using but basically all of my mugs and glassware are coming out of the dishwasher with a slight oily film to them - even if I rinse them again in clean water when I make a cup of tea there’s a thin layer of oil on top. I can’t figure out if it’s the machine that needs a deep clean, if it’s the type of dish washing pod I’m using or something else e”
“Hello! Recently washed this skirt that shed a bit but thought nothing of it when loading it into the laundry but after drying all these black flakes appeared inside my dryer 😭 i thought “Okay i’ll clean it later” and took a shower but the clothes that washed with the skirt also collected the flakes and it stuck to my skin!! I got it off with tape but now i’m wondering how do i get it off my clothes? how do i get rid of the flakes in the dryer? i feel like ive tried EVERYTHING!! The only thing t”
“We had a 20 year old rusted washing machine that had a lot of water sitting in it (and under it). After a year of complaining about the stains on our clothes post wash, our landlord finally changed our washing machine. However the installation team couldn’t remove the old hoses due to corrosion and told us to get a plumber to fix the issues. The landlord sent over a licensed plumber who looked at it and said that there was a lot of corrosion but the drain pipe was also less than 2 inches in diam”
“I just moved into a new apartment and found the center column of the washing machine, where the softener goes, full of nasty brown softener residue/gunk and hair. How should I clean this? I tried a scrub brush and vinegar but it's hard to actually reach down in there, and ran an empty load with vinegar as well but that didn't make much of a difference. Sorry for the weirdly lit photo there's no lights in the laundry space for some reason. submitted by /u/Doodle-doo- [link”

“So for months I’ve been trying to figure out how to get the ice making tray clean. Like the scoop part. I run the cleaning tablets every week to two weeks and it’s still been collecting gunk in the back corners of the ice maker part. I wish I had before photos, but I’m also glad to not have evidence of how gross it was 😅 I tried scrubbing with a straw brush vigorously while it drops and lifts with no avail. I’ve tried running only vinegar like 10 times. Putting 5 tablets in to the machine with”
“While living qith my in laws, we did a load of laundry and it ended up staining some of our clothes. We have 0 clue what caused it and only our laundry was impacted. Their clothes never had this issue and it didnt stain everything but a few pieces in a mixed load. We've since moved out but some pieces of clothing are still stained like this, especially our white/ cream pieces. Ive tried re washing it and using baking soda sprinkled on top but they wont come out. Any other ideas I can try. &#”

“Hello there, Purchased a washer and dryer from the previous tenant in our unit as he could not take them when he moved out. Been trying to get these markings/stains out of the washer but struggling to get em out. I ran a few empty cycles with hot water to try and loosen them up before using some warm soapy water and scrubbing away (before I tried anything harsher). Any thoughts/help would be awesome! submitted by /u/Holiday-Substance101 [link] [comments]”
“My dishwasher is leaving this super nasty particles. I rinse off my dishes before loading so I know it’s not leftover food from the dishes themselves. Any help/tips? submitted by /u/Altruistic-Sleep-561 [link] [comments]”

“The Washing machine at my new place is gross. It smells musty and I can see grime/mold around the drum. Water sits in the front and stinks. How do I clean it? I can't get in there with a cloth; it's a weird angle. These pictures are after I wiped everything with a cloth. Any help would be appreciated!! submitted by /u/Adunn20 [link] [comments]”
“I think it's mould, I'm not completely sure. Can I use cleaning vinegar? Sorry, I'm new at cleaning these things and didn't know it needed to be cleaned periodically. submitted by /u/GraveDirtSommelier [link] [comments]”
“I’m not really sure where to start with this one. Apologies for the bad pictures, but I can’t really move it. I’m not sure how it got like this but it definitely needs to be fixed. submitted by /u/bananascanning [link] [comments]”
“I got a vintage ceramic coffee pot from my mom and love the look of it and would like to use it for serving coffee. When I got it from her it smelled faintly of mildew and patchouli (she puts patchouli oil on EVERYTHING). I ran it through the dishwasher which helped a little but the smells persisted. Then I put a few tablespoons of washing soda in the pot with some hot water and let it sit overnight. It doesn't smell like mildew and patchouli anymore, but now it smells (and tastes) like wash”

“I'm a complete noob at cleaning the lids of cups, don't judge me. I recently got this tumblr, and this is the part that covers the hole of the lid. I tried scrubbing it with a sponge, but it doesn't come off all the way. Hell, I even tried using a paper towel. Honestly the only drinks I put in this cup are water, black tea, occasionally chocolate milk, and occasionally soda. Please help!! This stain is annoying me and I don't have any fancy cleaning products made for this.”
“I’ve had multiple clothes come out of the washing machine with these dark stains on them. In the UK with a front loading machine, using Ecover liquid and softener and some Vanish Powder to help keep stuff white. My daughters Jessie shirt was washed while we were on holiday in the AirBnB’s machine and is definitely the worst, I obviously won’t be using that machine again but help removing or at least lessening the stain would be helpful. My Star Trek shirt was washed at home and I’ve had others c”
“Stain was from a coke or lemon ice tea i don't remember. Already cold delicate machine washed as per instructions and didn't have an effect. Terrified to use a stain remover (oxy action max or a lion stain remover pen i got in japan) in fear that it would discolour the black (more like a dark charcoal). submitted by /u/lust-boy [link] [comments]”
“So me and my girlfriend just got to our apartment where we are staying as exchanged students. Washed our brand new bedsheets in the washing machine here and these particles appear all over. Some dark, some light and they seem to kinda dissolve when we touch dem. Thought maybe it was due to mold on the rubber seal so I washed it pretty good with bleach and most of it disappeared. I also removed the detergent tray and cleaned that. We ran two empty cycles with liquid machine rinser both times. Tri”
“I’m hoping someone here can help because I’m honestly really emotional about this. This Breville Barista Express was a very special gift to me, and for personal and sentimental reasons it means a lot more to me than just being an espresso machine. I’ve always taken really good care of it and tried to keep it looking nice. I recently noticed these weird white spots and drip marks all over the stainless steel and I genuinely have no idea where they came from. I know it’s only cosmetic. The machine”
“Hi everyone! I accidentally left a tester bottle of perfume in my tote bag while washing it. The bottle looked like it was made of metal but I am guessing it might be plastic made to look that way too. After the cycle was completed I found the bottle lying on the door seal. There was a black liquid spilling from it - I don’t know if it was coming out from the casing of the bottle or if some metal part was oxidized and that was leaking. I ran the machine on 90 degrees hoping it would wash out eve”
“This is my humidifier I had sitting with bleach for months (long story, it got neglected to say the least). Can I get this gunk off or is it a lost cause? The rest of it is clean and fine. I have tried soaking it in vinegar as well with not much help. Scrubbing with a toothbrush gets some of it but it’s almost cemented on there. :/ submitted by /u/Infinite853 [link] [comments]”
“So for a long time now my clothes keep coming out of the laundry with mystery stains on them despite not having these stains before putting them into the washing machine. The place we moved into had a low efficiency washing machine where you put the detergent into the bottom of the washer and put your clothes on top of it then start it then it fills with water. (I use All Free and Clear liquid detergent) So I thought I was using too much detergent. I was filling to the first number 1 line in the”
“How do I wash this ????? The bottom covers are removable and washable so they are going in the machine, but the back cushions are filled with this amorphous fluff. The steam cleaner isn’t very effective and it is also EXTREMELY time consuming! There are still so many obvious spots on the ONE cushion I did so I’m just 😖😖😖😖😖 and wondering what I’ve started today LOL. Any tips so this doesn’t take me 12 hours? submitted by /u/RiskReasonable [link] [comments]”
“After this face&body wash bottle stayed idle for a while I discovered that it developed mold. Pumping soapy water through it doesn't seem to work (or should I do it more?) Is it salvageable? submitted by /u/tilteded [link] [comments]”

“Probably grease or coffee grounds from the kitchenette sink. I would attempt to snake the drain line from the washing machine first. If you aren't handy, call a plumber. I had a renter that dumped coffee grounds in the sink every day. That led to a conversation about what not to put down the drain.”
“The left one is a clothes washer. And the right has a dishwasher which is not shown because I pulled it out to take the picture.”
“A sippy cup of milk was left on our navy sofa for 10 hours and left a nice stain 😭 I can’t find the care tag and with Value City Furniture being closed there’s no one to contact. Is this machine washable?! submitted by /u/ChiGirl85 [link] [comments]”
“I took out the detergent tray and found this. Please help me i don’t even know where to begin. I don’t buy paper towels but I think now might be a good time to start. If i use rags to clean this do you think I should throw them away after? submitted by /u/Own_Concentrate_2346 [link] [comments]”
“I used Clorox wipes and then ran very wet paper towel over the knobs and the handrails. Mother understandably freaked saying now there’s weird rough patches in places… She usually uses some kind of oil? Should she or I put her treatment on it? submitted by /u/Mundane-Snow-3904 [link] [comments]”
“I got a used kitchen aid mixer an marketplace and it came with the Gormet pasta press and the auger had these nasty spots that look like mold but don't come off with soap. They also have no texture when you touch it. Is there any way to clean it or do I just have to pretend its not there hahaha submitted by /u/justglassin33 [link] [comments]”

“Just moved to a new place and before I started using the washing machine I ran it on 90°C with white vinegar and an anti limescale tab. I repeated this a second time when my first laundry came out with these debris. Today I did laundry again and the clothes still came out like this. Any help is appreciated. Sorry for any mistakes as English is not my first language. submitted by /u/Sana-ya [link] [comments]”
