“You say it hasn't leaked.... it looks broken to me. Like a heavy weight flexed the counter and the sink gave way, hope I'm wrong. Other's have said incorrect install, or lack there of. How was there not a leak? I also commented hoping for a update [re: Sink drain problem]”

“Also are you sure there’s no running trap? Could be further down the line. It should be cut out and affixed to the fixture but you also don’t want to double trap [re: Upstairs shower leak]”

“Not a plumber and hard to see a lot of detail with just one top-down picture but... Can you tell if that large outer ring with the two nubs at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions is some type of retaining ring? If so, maybe you can place a pair of pliers with the jaws spread wide to…”

“Not a plumber and hard to see a lot of detail with just one top-down picture but... Can you tell if that large outer ring with the two nubs at the 12 and 6 o'clock positions is some type of retaining ring? If so, maybe you can place a pair of pliers with the jaws spread wide to press against the nubs as you turn the pliers in a vertical orientation cohnter-clockwise. (A "faucet wrench" with variable configurations in its socket ends might work here.) The other guess is whether that”

“As others have said, the chain is too long or the extra slack is too long. Cut it with wire cutters. If that blue stuff is tank cleaner, using that will destroy your toilet tank internals. I prefer the Fluidmaster Flush N Sparkle kit. It’s cheap and it sends cleaner directly through the rim jets so the internals stay clean from the tank to the bowl without damaging the rubber seals. [re: How to stop the chain from hooking the flapper like this?]”

“Looks clean for what’s there, I’d just triple-check that suds pressure zone length if your local code is strict about it. [re: How am I doing?]”

“This is the only visible area I can see in my garage where the main water line is. Not sure if I have enough space to install a water shut-off valve or an actuator. What do you guys think? Pipe is 1 1/4". If not possible, do you have any suggestions for alternative products/locations that might work? Thank you in advance! submitted by /u/djmikmik [link] [comments]”

“get a more flexible hose. water is just sitting in that hose after 6 years. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FD33J6NC yeah you can see thru it...but for that short of a run, it should literally be horizontally running”

“How bad is this? Accidentally got a hose caught on my mower and yanked the faucet off the house. There do not appear to be any leaks, but the pipe will not slide back into the house. submitted by /u/JigsPagoli [link] [comments]”

“We are trying to figure out this pipe (the red arrowed open one). Is it supposed to be open like this? We are just noticing it and have no idea if it’s been like that since we moved in about 10 years ago. We recently moved a shelf unit and are just noticing it. The shelf unit had been blocking our view of it. While under contract to purchase the home and while the home inspection was done, I believe there may have been a water-softener and / or water-filtration system there; this system was not”

Tighten it

“It's a push connect. If the pressure has been relieved on the line push the tubing into the fitting while compressing the ring then pull tube out. You'll need to have a little slack in the line to get that procedure to work for you.”

“what snake model is that? how long did you try to get through? that’s 1.5 inch pipe. if you used a chain knocker you need the smaller size for 1.5 in”

r/Plumbing29d ago

“That would appear to be it. Go EASY on it. They're often crusted up internally and externally after years of not being exercised, and if you twist it off or break anything, the bill will be expensive and you'll potentially have a flooded yard until the water utility can get things shut off upstream.”
