“I'm not sure what the right word would be (ethical? Irresponsible? The L-Word that I'm apparently not allowed to use?). I've talked to the office, shown them pictures, maintenance has been contacted with an emergency rating, but I have to ask- should I be talking to anyone else…”
“oh i know. I told them. They wont. At some point you just CYA and stop caring you know. Mail with a sitrep and warning to the manager and from there on it isnt my issue anymore.”

“The card readers for teacers grant access from 5am to 10pm. There has been ONE time I needed it get into the building and I barely made it before 10pm because I forgot something. I’m just glad there is no alarm system that needs to be deactivated like my last school in the early morning.”
“Was changing a stepper valve on a 15t. Dropped a tool and punctured the coil. The property manager showed up about 3 seconds later. No gas loss and I instantly told him to go away he was making me nervous. How he showed up at the worst possible time I don’t know. submitted by /u/heldoglykke [link] [comments]”
“Hospitality is the worst for this type of thing. I used to work for a bunch of hotels and fought for every line item. Then they would ask if I could do it for cheaper. They see IT as a necessary evil, not something to invest in. If you stick with it try to pitch it in a way that will improve the business. Lol misread the title as the job type, same applies though.”

I've talked to the office, shown them pictures, maintenance has been contacted with an emergency rating, but I have to ask- should I be talking to anyone else about this? Aside from the crazily bending wood plank, the filter is the wrong size. Should I be talking to someone outside the apartment complex about this? If so, who? submitted by /u/TheWeirdTal”
“Yep, they give you the tiniest, dumbest location. That's why if I know I've got a built in, I'll put the shutoff valve in the ceiling below. Or sometimes, they do actually call for the box to be in the cabinet beside the fridge”
“Story time, gather round. This is a long one. We have basically been the exclusive HVAC contractor for this corporation in our metropolitan area for around 15 years. They have a couple dozen locations here and, at their peak, they had about twice that including a very large corporate office which eventually got consolidated inside one of their other existing locations but is now an empty space. They have many locations across many states. Over that 15 years we have seen locations and employees c”
“How is it gas safe ,who I’ve always considered toothless at dealing with cowboys and dodgy instillations, absolutely throw the book at me over a supposed flue clamp missing. Ive not been suspended or anything serious but I’m still annoyed. Had to waste a whole day getting spoken too about regulations 26(9) FAGS. The guy seemed really pissed off with me too (the gas safe HSE inspector) over one missing clamp. The vertical flue was supported by 4 clamps and it should have been 5. It was a really a”

“I got scanned, fingerprinted, photographed, scolded for not having the correct ppe, signed 11 NDA’s and maybe a DNR. Tool bag inspected several times, I had a bic lighter and that was NOT allowed! Phone was taken, inspected, and disinfected. Now,, what they are building at this facility any of the should be able to fix this counter top ice maker. Or be smart enough to realize it’s cheaper to buy a new one! Any way I quoted $2800 to repair a $300 unit. Stay sane yall submitted by /u/h”
