“If you've tried to remove the background from a photo, you know how it usually goes. You upload the image to a server, make an account, and then get a watermarked or low-resolution result unless you pay. That's annoying for a quick portrait or pet photo, and it's a real problem…”

Independent developers struggle with the tedious and complex process of creating localized App Store screenshots, often seeking alternatives to expensive or restrictive SaaS solutions. They desire more control over their data and workflows, prioritizing local processing and direct integration with Apple's App Store Connect. This pain point is compounded by difficulty in user acquisition and the need for efficient screenshot organization.

“I'm the developer of Pangka, an iPhone digicam app with eight looks. This clip applies each look to the same photo so the differences are easier to compare. These are actual iOS Simulator exports; the portrait is an AI-generated fictional person. Which looks feel too similar, and is the grain distracting at this size? “Most of the time I would send a full screenshot instead of cropped one, and I also edit it too. But as for now rishot doesn't support any quick fullscreen edit type of feature... Feature: when in select mode and the user hasn't select anything, left click will cause rishot to select the whole user's screen when in select mode and the user hasn't select anything, right click will cause rishot to exit (quick exit with mouse)”
“Hi, thanks for Skreen, I use it daily on macOS. One thing I miss: an option to put the captured image on the clipboard right after capture, without opening the editor or pressing Cmd+C. My typical workflow is capture an area and paste it straight into Teams, a ticket or a chat. For that, the editor is an extra step most of the time. Suggestion: a checkbox under General After capture, e.g. "Copy to clipboard", ideally next to "Show Quick Access", so both can be combined (copy immediately, still s”

“I’m looking for Windows testers for Picture Pilot Sorter 0.5.0-beta.7. It is free, requires no account, and runs locally. Picture Pilot is for manually reviewing a folder tree, applying your own layered tags, revisiting focused sorting passes, inspecting exact duplicate groups, and building new verified output folders without changing the originals. It includes local HEIC/HEIF support. Videos are counted and listed so the folder totals reconcile, but the app itself remains photo-only. I’m especi”
“this is exactly what ive been looking for, tired of these apps demanding access to my entire life just to delete a few blurry photos. the swipe mechanic is clever makes it actually sort of fun to clean up. have you thought about adding a way to detect photos of text like old screenshots of notes or recipes that might be worth keeping separately [re: KeepWise (Android): I built a photo cleaner that never touches the internet. Looking for honest feedback]”
“This is a clever pivot from screenshot tools to actual demos. The reproducible script angle is what makes it interesting, most recording tools just give you a static video you have to redo manually Question on the login secret flow: does the AI see the password at any point, or is it purely injected by Klevo at runtime? That's the part that would make or break trust for me I'll give it a shot with a side project that has a cookie banner and onboarding wizard, that's usually where the”

“I’m trying to improve my app launch workflow. Right now, my screenshots are fine for store listings, but they do not communicate the core interaction very well. Making a short vertical video manually means choosing a template, resizing screens, writing captions, timing everything, and exporting multiple formats. For those of you launching apps or SaaS products: Do you make promo videos yourself? Do you use screen recordings, screenshots, AI tools, or a video editor? How long does a decent 20–40”

“Hi, I thought about vibing such an app but then i looked around and found your app. Looks promising. Thanks for making it. It would be great to have Screenshots of the data entry form and the letter that comes out of it. Then i could better decide if I give it a try.”

“For tester feedback, a short task could help: import a photo they normally edit, make their usual adjustments, and export it. Ask them to include their phone model, file type, and the exact step where something failed. A sample image and a simple report template would make it easier for people to contribute. Seeing which workflow they finish and want to use again can also help you decide what to tackle next. [re: I made lightcraft-android; an adobe lightroom android alternative. Also accepting o”
“Screenshots plus the built-in Studio is a clear pair to lead with. A store screenshot or short clip showing capture, then trim, then export in one flow says more than a feature list. For feature data without a full analytics setup, a single counter per action (opened Studio, exported a video, took a screenshot) is enough to see what those first 100 users actually do. The plan for Reddit stays there if it's useful later. Do most people export from Studio, or open it and leave? [re: I built a”
“The only issue is it doesn't distinguish between camera roll photos and photos from apps. I have emudeck and neostation so it downloads cover art and it gets picked up by the app. It needs to allow the user to exclude folders or even better exclude apps that download images. Yes you have to folder option but with so many apps with folders it makes it messy. [re: Photo Duel - Clean up your gallery by comparing similar photos]”
“Since saved designs already work, a one-click export that bundles the theme file with a screenshot gives every user something to show in their own setup posts, with BrutalDash credited in the image. A small gallery where people submit those files would also hand you a new clip to post every week without making one yourself. For finding places, start where people already post their desks and screens, and read each community's self-promotion rule before the first post. If a community's rul”
“I love the glow effect from “Ambient light for YouTube” and couldn’t find anything like it for TikTok on desktop, so I decided to build my own. I’ve spent a while tweaking it so it feels smooth when you scroll, and it’s finally at a point where I’m happy to share it. It’s still early, and TikTok changes its page a lot, so things might break or look off sometimes. If you run into a bug or have an idea, open an issue on GitHub or drop a comment here. A screenshot helps a lot if something looks wro”
“I'm a product designer and I present flat screens all the time: dashboards, app screens, landing pages. They look a lot better with some depth, but every way I had of getting that was slow. Find a Figma plugin, configure it, export. Or pay for a mockup site whose templates never quite fit my screen. So I built Perspecto. You drop an image in, pick an angle and export. It runs in the browser, there's no sign-up, and there's a live demo on the page so you can try it before uploading an”
“The apps are all local-first (actually, local only), only a few kilobytes to MBs and free on the app stores, so I doubt OP is making any money from this. [re: I’ve been making minimal, private apps for everyday human needs (not another productivity apps lol)]”
“Fair point — screenshots belong in the post, not behind a DM. Here they are: https://preview.redd.it/dx6txkgqxouh1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=e950ea2048d39913b6ae3d2f8f7edd5956657bc9 And agreed on the required hourly rate — it's the number freelancers actually argue with themselves about. Leading with it next time. Thanks for the ThreadFox offer, but I'm enjoying doing this part myself — it's half the learning. Good luck with it though. [re: Looking for first u”
“It runs fully in your browser, no signup, no uploads. I'm trying to figure out what makes someone pick one of these over the dozen others. You drop in a screenshot, pick a template, put it in a browser/MacBook/iPhone frame, generate a background, set the lighting, and export for Product Hunt, App Store, X, stories, whatever. It exports transparent images, per-layer PNGs and MP4 for moving screens or recordings. What would you want from it? submitted by /u/Beautiful_Pomelo4316 [li”
“I'm PicPop's developer. The idea is simple: swipe through a small batch, bring detected look-alikes together, pick the keepers, then review the extras before deleting. I'd like first-time feedback on one part: when there are two good photos of the same moment, is it obvious that you can keep both? An earlier tester nearly missed that. Try it with a few unimportant photos first; you can undo a swipe and nothing is deleted until you confirm. Detection can miss shots. This is the releas”

“Color to Alpha filter is something Krita and Gimp have. It would be cool if PhotoCraft also had this filter as I use it almost daily: <img width="583" height="546" alt="Image" src="https://github.com/user attachments/assets/5ebddf0a 472a 4495 9987 1e89d8a058af" / https://docs.krita.org/sl/reference manual/filters/colors.html It could go in the menu category: Filter Other...”
“Agreed — seeing a finished preview isn't the same as having a file you can keep. We've changed the export message and added a named download link, but saving inside an in-app browser is still unverified. I'll keep that distinction explicit rather than mark the whole issue as solved. [re: Photo journal makers: can you turn 6 photos into a mini magazine with this free browser tool?]”
“I'm Spawn, the developer of Cloakshot. It scans a screenshot for private details, lets you cover them, and saves a separate copy to share. I'm looking for feedback on checking the scan and fixing anything it misses. Could you try it with a screenshot containing made-up information? Scan the image and check the suggested areas. Resize one area or cover a detail the scan missed. Save the edited copy and check that the private details are hidden while the part you wanted to share is still r”
“I get the friction problem, but I'm wondering if the real bottleneck for most people is actually getting the context back into their workflow versus capturing it. Once you have the file and line, does Claude Code pick it up automatically through MCP or do you still have to paste something into the editor”
“That collapsed section explains how someone could reach the upload step before realizing the photo will be public. Put the notice beside the upload button too, and keep upload failure separate from reluctance to publish a photo in the feedback choices. You can return to the earlier plan after this test.”

“Hi, I’m currently looking into using no screenshot in my Flutter project. I was wondering if there’s any possibility to support protecting only certain widgets instead of blocking screenshots or screen recording for the whole screen/app. What I’m trying to achieve is something like a SecureWidget : The idea is that the widget would still be visible normally when the user is using the app, but if they take a screenshot or start screen recording, only that specific widget would be hidden, redacted”
“Photocraft. Wow great job, honestly a few small bugs has it unuseable for me atm, Double clicking palette headers to collapse them, also sometimes the palettes are not properly rendering (tools cut off to the left side, can’t resize palette sidebar etc) Text tools don’t seem to work correctly (highlighting text etc) Overall it’s really just polish and UX refining, but that last 20% is really 80% of the work when building with AI. If you keep going, i’m totally behind ya and cheering you on!!”

“I have a new release for my coloring app that I was hoping to receive feedback from people. The latest version is available on my TestFlight link attached. But please also download my existing app on the App Store to see previous UI. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/color-kingdom/id6757393919 It is a full redesign of the UI (Simplified) plus I have redone the way colors can be applied, optimized for speed in filling the color along with a stay in the lines feature for coloring. “What problem does this solve? Most screenshoters allow cropping the image at the same time as any other editing functions are available to use. I cannot find a way to crop the screenshot in the editor in apexshot after already selecting the portion of the screen and opening the editor. I find it rather inconvenient that these are two completely separate steps. Sometimes you need to quickly screenshot the whole screen and crop it later as needed. Proposed solution Add a crop function in the edito”

“I'm stupid, how does this work? Run the command in the readme and it will prompt an install, or do you need to rerun everything each time you use it? Looks great by the way. Would AE plugins work here as well?”

“a small update to this digital wellbeing software since my last post. This is a prerelease version which i have tagged to be stable and slated for future release and add to main branch from the beta branch. This highlight is less about asking you guys to try out the beta release but more in the honor of over 3+ months of development. What makes me happy the most is that the project which i started even without a repository just to monitor my own system and usage has now come this far with over 5”

“Hi, thanks for Screendrop, I've been using it daily for a few weeks and it's become my go to screenshot tool. Use case After a capture I want the screenshot uploaded to my cloud (so it's stored and shareable later from history), but I want the image itself in the clipboard, so I can paste it directly into chats, emails or tickets. Current behavior The after capture options include "Copy to Clipboard" and "Upload to Cloud & Copy Link". If both are enabled, the upload wins and the clipboard ends u”
