“My firm's policy is they need to be able to be 100% covered no matter the temperature for any client facing or other public interaction representing the firm. Absolutely no vulgar or offensive tattoos period. Look, I'll be honest, I'm not asking about the tattoos if I see them…”
“just curious what everyone success is with getting a new job or keeping their job with excessive face piercings? I am about to leave my clinic and try and find a new clinic. However, I just wanted to know how realistic that would be for me while I have four face piercings that…”
“i have 4 tattoos right now, but all are hidden (ribs, bikini line, and upper thigh/hip). i’m wanting to get my shins done, but i’m working towards a career in accounting. i’d love to be able to wear skirts to work and not pants all the time, but would this impact any employment…”

“Just wear long sleeves during the interview and for a few years afterwards. Unfortunately it would make most people assume you are impulsive and have poor self regulation.”

Absolutely no vulgar or offensive tattoos period. Look, I'll be honest, I'm not asking about the tattoos if I see them. You just will be quietly taken out of the running, no discussion needed, the same as if you didn't match the rest of the credentials. As long as they are not offensive or vulgar, I have zero personal issue”
“I work F100 as a senior manager and am absolutely covered (arms, legs, and a chest piece that peaks out of the top of my shirts) and no, it doesn't really impact things. Just wear long sleeves until you've figured out the general attitude of everyone in leadership.”
“How is the sub salty? If you work with clients, they can find any issue under the sub to bitch about you. Half these people just don’t see it because they probably don’t work in management but tattoos are no go for some clients. Idgaf if it hurts your feelings, I am forced to put the major client on a different accountant. What am I supposed to do? Walk up to you and tell you the client thinks you’re trashy? Tell you, you didn’t get the major client because of modifications you did?”
Depends on the person and where you are. In NZ no one would bat an eyelid
“Probably best to avoid neck or face tattoos as well. Maybe a T-chart teardrop tattoo would be acceptable. Dr winning Cr sadness Or cr corp revenue dr happiness”
“Appearance is actually a significant portion of the initial mental health assessment. How we choose to appear is a reflection of who we are. Either tattoos are meaningful totems of your personal story that you got permanently etched into your flesh because they matter that much, or they mean nothing. Pick one.”
“If they're on your hands, neck, or face, that could be a problem. Anywhere else, you just don't have to let them see it. Long sleeves and long pants are always an option. There is no situation in which they aren't.”

“Nowadays it seems ok to have tattoos. The only concern I think would be someone in leadership seeing your tats and they might be concerned about what clients would think. But it seems the firm people themselves don’t care. But this is why I just have a 3/4 sleeve on each arm. Throw on a long sleeve button down shirt and my tattoos just disappear.”
“I’ve literally never seen anyone judged for their tattoos as long as they aren’t inappropriate or covering your face.”
“Only thing I found with piercings was getting caught up in a ceiling so I took mine out.”
“BOA does not care about tattoos or piercings at any of the branches near me, one of the girls has a visible chest tattoo and the other had a nose piercing. I would say swap it out for the most understated ring you have and just make sure you look professional. If your tattoos are offensive or silly or in another way inappropriate for a business environment then yes cover them up and be prepared to do so everyday but if they’re just artistic and not political or religious in nature you should be”
“Hi everyone, I’m looking to transition from an admin management role in the arts to a higher education administration role. I have been granted a few interviews, but my primary concern is my facial piercings. I am extremely traditional in appearance otherwise (normal straight brown hair, dress normal, tattoos are all covered when wearing work clothes) but I have 2 nose piercings, a septum, and 3 labret lip piercings. Other than that, I am vastly overqualified for many of these positions, with an”
“Hey all, TLDR: Going for interviews for new roles, facial piercings in or piercings out? For a bit of background, I'm a bartender working in central London in the UK. I'm getting bored at my current establishment and am looking for a role in a more professional, laid-back setting (my current bar is most comparable to a dive bar). Not necessarily fine-dining, but somewhere in the middle. I've been here for around two years and have gotten quite a few piercings. The ones on my ears are”
“especially as a masters holder who can’t find work in my field. Anyone successfully hid their eyebrow piercing from their employer? I searched the interwebs and theres nothing. I thought we’d advanced from when I got my piercing 10 years ago and found a way to make it low visibility (clear doesn’t work lol) ty submitted by /u/urghostn [link] [comments]”
