“We just got him a week ago and hes begun settling in, no noticable behavior changes but for the last 2-3 days hes been very sneezy, with occasional, watery, clear discharge from his nose when he sneezes, and now I can see the little corners of what I think are his tear ducts? They look kinda whitish. He's still eating plenty but is avoiding his water more than usual. We just switched to wet food and are using the sheba kitten perfect portions in the flavor salmon and the flavor chicken/tuna.”

“Hello I’ve had my cat for almost a month now and a couple hours ago I noticed it looked like he was gagging and he made two snort/sneeze/cough sounds. I thought maybe he was going to cough up his first hairball but then nothing happened and he was fine. He just did it again with more cough sounds and is now fine with no throw up or hair ball. Is this normal or should I call the vet tomorrow? submitted by /u/barbieferrera [link] [comments]”

“I’m located in California. My Sphynx is a 4 month old female kitten that is not spayed. She’s about 6 lbs. She has all of her shots. My main concern is that she randomly gets lower to the ground, extends her neck, and then does a hacking/exhaling/slight coughing sound. It lasts for a few seconds then she stops. Then, it starts up again for a few seconds, then ceases. I’m not able to add the video here. This occurs maybe once every couple days. Seems like asthma? I’m terrified it might be associa”

“I just adopted a kitten (3 months) at a shelter. They told be she had a cold and she was on medication, and it should clear up in a few days. They then gave me all her medication that I would need for the next week. But now I’m worried, I just got home and was playing with her when I noticed her nose was bloody. The humane society is closed for the day, but I wanna know is this an emergency or not? submitted by /u/22daisylove [link] [comments]”

“Please tell me what to do with her eyes. Last week it’s just the one eye. Now, its both and the right side is bulging. Last week, I tried to clean it with water and cotton balls. I haven’t touched it right now. I’m living away from home so I can’t take care of her always because of school. They were actually four but the three died already. It’s their mother’s first litter. We don’t have the money to bring her to the vet 💔 submitted by /u/introverted_purple [link] [comments]”

“I don't know what to do. Alert the shelter they gave me a cat that is sick or take him to the vet? He sounds congested but it's clear nasal discharge. He's currently sleeping next to me and I hear him breathing but it's not raspy. No mouth breathing. He has a neuter appointment on Monday. I'm afraid if I tell the shelter they'll take him back. He's the perfect fit for my family. Species: feline Age: 2? Sex/Neuter status: intact Breed: domestic short hair Body weight:”

“My kitten (10weeks F) has had a pale nose most of the time since I got her, about 2 weeks ago. She gets an actually bubblegum pink nose occasionally, after playing pretty hard. She plays, eats, drinks, and uses the restroom like normal. I took her to a vet yesterday and paid 50 dollars for the guy (pardon me, but he was decrepit-old, with a constant severe tremor. Probably 80’s) to tell me this color is normal. The entire interaction with him was maybe 2 minutes, there was no “some cats noses ar”

“I got my kitten a month ago, he came sneezing and I noticed that he had gunky eyes and green snot. I took him to the vets who gave him antibiotics (can’t remember the name) he did seem to get better, but he’s now been off them a few days and he’s back congested and sneezing. I’m pretty sure it’s feline herpes after having a cat years ago with it. My vets can’t get him in until Thursday. He’s still eating/drinking/pooping/being a dork, but he just seems to sneeze/sniff up mucus and “snores” a lot”

“I just got a 1 year old kitten after my 12 year old cat went to see heaven and she keeps on sneezing a lot it said there was no issues with her and I was wondering maybe is that because the cat litter or I smoke in the room with her but my door is open working as possibly an upper respiratory infection or maybe what's just going on with her submitted by /u/Numerous_Math_598 [link] [comments]”

“I was fostering kittens with herpes for a few days, they had eye discharge and one had sniffles, their eyes were cloudy and one of the eyes had tissue that had grown over it. They were kept separate from my own resident cats. My own cats came from a shelter as babies. I had accidentally left some wet food leftovers on the counter from the kittens with herpes and I think one of my own cats ate it. A few days later she had a watery eyes but then I wiped them and they look fine and no other symptom”

He’s estimated to be 3 ish. When we first found him, there was all sorts of gunk in his eyes. The vet gave us some antibiotic drops which did help to clear things up some. “I adopted a male kitten on 26 September, when he was 12 weeks old. He’s the runt of the litter and weighed 960g when I brought him home. The rescue told me he’d had diarrhoea that morning. At home, he continued to have very runny stools and wasn’t eating much. When I checked his medical notes, I saw he’d been seen by a vet around two weeks earlier because his new foster had noticed diarrhoea. He was also neutered about a week after that visit. He doesn’t seem like he’s sick either. He’s still super active. Still has a lot of energy. Still eating and drinking normally. They are both now about 5 or 6 months old and vaccinated. They are still quarantined from each other because Mouse had recurring eye symptoms after the course of antibiotics. “Hi! I recently adopted two kittens from a rescue and one had a tiny bit of eye discharge and a squinty / watery eye. The vet said it was very very likely a URI from the shelter and that it would result in 1-2 weeks a week ago. Hers looks much better, but now her sister's eye is watery and squinty as well. They do play together and groom each other. I realize now I probably should have separated them, but alas. There's no coughing, no discharge, they're both eating normally, as well a”

“I just adopted an 8 month old kitten about 6 weeks ago, and I got a PCR panel done for him because he was sneezing once a day and liquid was coming out of his left eye. He tested positive for both bordetella and mycoplasma. However, the last 3 days, he hasn’t been showing any of the symptoms at all so vet told me to hold off on medication because she thinks they resolved themselves. However.. “My female kitten is around 4.5 months old and today I happened to notice this patch of colour around her lower gums..she does not seem to have any trouble eating, drinking etc and the rest of her gums look pink/normal She is ash/grey /white coloured long hair kitten. Does this seem normal or requires immediate vet attention? Image: https://ibb.co/FkLrZQCW submitted by /u/Charming_Exam_7438 [link] [comments]”

“Hello. I’m from Saskatchewan. I have a 10 week old girl calico kitten. She’s not spayed and hasn’t gotten any shots yet. I’m unsure of her body weight. A few days ago one of her eyes had swelled up and there was no fur on the bottom of her eyelid. I did a warm compress and it seemed to help. But the past few days her eyes have just been red. I don’t know if I should take her in or not. I dont know what to do. I have photos but I’m not sure how to add it to this post. submitted by /u/”
