“Hey guys, my cat recently was prescribed Atopica in liquid form. She is usually great with medicine so I tried giving it to her straight, but after a couple days she began drooling heavily after administration. I googled and it looked like it was due to the bitterness of the…”

“Hello, again! I posted the other day about my cat who ate a rubber band. We took her to the ER and got her x-rays, and we also gave her fluids and medicine to keep her from throwing up. Since yesterday around four or five, when she got the medicine, she has not thrown up, and…”

“My 11 year old otherwise healthy cat was bleeding from the mouth when I got home from work today and showing obvious reluctance to eating or drinking. It was late so going to our normal vet wasn't an option so I took her to one…”

“I took my cat to my usual vet, and found out she has periodontal disease and a cyst on her lip. They gave her buprenorphine for pain- they said they can’t extract her teeth for four months - I live on an island in Alaska. We are going on over 24 hours of her on this med. She’s 12 and a Siamese cat if that matters. She refuses to eat or drink, is hiding under my bed and seems to be hallucinating. When do I become worried about her lack of appetite ? Is it even okay for her to wait four months for”

“Hello, my cat has always had issues at the vet, he hisses and growls like crazy and will bite and scratch so the vet prescribed him some sort of pill to calm him down and make him sleepy so they’d be able to actually do their jobs without my cat attacking them. We then discover he has pale gums and scheduled a blood test in 2 weeks. But as soon as we got him he’s barely peed and has only liquid diarrhoea, he poops about once a day. I plan on calling my vet tomorrow, but they’ve never seemed to b”

“Hi everyone, I’d really appreciate your opinions and advice about my kitten, Yuki. She is 5 months old and was taken to the vet on Wednesday morning with suspected antifreeze poisoning. They did blood tests, and since then she has been receiving IV fluids every day to help flush her kidneys, as the vets told us that her results suggest possible kidney damage. Her blood test results are: - UREA: 46.4 mmol/L - PHOS: 5.20 mmol/L - CREA: 367 µmol/L She also seems to be experiencing abdominal pain. S”

“Hey guys, my cat recently was prescribed Atopica in liquid form. She is usually great with medicine so I tried giving it to her straight, but after a couple days she began drooling heavily after administration. I googled and it looked like it was due to the bitterness of the medication so I began mixing the medicine with churu and sometimes a bit of bone broth. The problem is she is becoming less interested in the treat/medicine mixture! She has never been a food motivated cat, so we don’t give”

“Hello, again! I posted the other day about my cat who ate a rubber band. We took her to the ER and got her x-rays, and we also gave her fluids and medicine to keep her from throwing up. Since yesterday around four or five, when she got the medicine, she has not thrown up, and she does not appear to be in any pain. (As per the feline grimace scale, etc). But she simply will not eat. I went back to the ER today and got her a topical appetite stimulant, and put it on a little over an hour ago and s”

“Hi! So my cat is 15 years old and, until recently, she had only been to the vet once in her childhood. She outwardly seems very healthy, running around and climbing on high furniture (she has a designated spot up there), but there had been some semi-frequent instances of throwing up that didn't use to occur before, so I decided to take her to the vet. After a few appointments, an ultrasound and some tests, the vet came the conclusion that she has major issues with one of her kidneys and her”

“He’s been doing this for about five minutes now at least that I’ve noticed. He’s doing the lip licking thing as if he is nauseous, but it’s right before he has, what seems to be, a hiccup. He is a 6 year old neutered male medium hair tuxedo cat with a history of cranial cuterebra infestation (Sept 2025). Approximately 9 lbs, located in northeast Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA. The cuterebra infestation left him with permanent chewing/swallowing difficulties and lately he seems to be having frequent”

“I’m very sick and shaky, and when I was trying to give myself some cough syrup, I knocked the bottle over. It spilled on the floor, and on my cat because she is always at my feet. She ran off, and I thought it only landed on the floor, so I quickly cleaned it. But she came back, and I saw the cough syrup on her right arm, and she was foaming at the mouth. Currently on wait with poison control, but just looking for some additional insight. Been on hold for 11 minutes now. The anxiety is killing m”

“TLDR: 6ish month kitten went from eating 2 bags of wet food + 50g dry food daily (for the past 4 months) to eating less than half of that. Is this a sign of sickness or teething? 6 month male kitten had a massive appetite since we found him up until two days ago. He went from eating half a bag of wet food with 12g of dry food 4 times a day, to barely eating half of that each time I feed him. The odd thing is, is that he will eat any new food introduced, even though he used to love the food I cur”

“I've been doing what our vet showed me, and he really seems to swallow the pill, but then 20 minutes later I find his medication on the floor. He's not vomiting, there's no half digested food or fluid, just the pill. I usually grab his head/jaw from behind with one hand, tilt his head up and open his mouth, then drop the pill into his throat. Exactly like the vet showed me. He swallows, doesn't choke, doesn't gag, and gets a treat for his trouble. Then I find the pill on the”

“My cat may have eaten a garlic clove and a little bit more of another this morning at around 10:45 am. Maybe he ate even more. We left a head of it on the counter like we always do and he hasn’t done this in 3 years. It seemed maybe chewed on. Really hard to say. We walked into the home from outside and spotted him on the counter. I called poison control because my animal hospital won’t see me unless I contact them. I’m looking for my release papers, but can’t find the medication list, but here”

“My 4 yo is sick, she woke up and I saw she has a fever. Got the Tylenol out and gave it to her. I found my cat loafing on the counter by the open bottle. Bottle wasnt knocked over, didnt smell/see any on his fur or on his chin. Rinsed his front paws in the sink immediately after. What is the threshold for concern ingestion wise and what signs am I looking for? 1 year old average sized male cat. Neutered 150mg/5mL childrens oral Tylenol. submitted by /u/Upper-Main-5001 [link] [c”

“Cat are a poisoned mouse, she’s on vitamin K now. Can someone give me reassurance? I found the better part of a mouse outside my door, bright blue on the inside. I think though that she got it at least a day and a half ago. She wasn’t showing any symptoms but I brought her to the vet who gave me vitamin k tablets to give to her. She didn’t get an injection or anything. Will she be okay or should I take her to another vet? submitted by /u/Otherwise_Till_224 [link] [comments]”

“Okay so my cat , male around 4 years old, somehow managed to get hand soap on the baseline of his tail, I tried washing the soap off but I ended up missing some and most likely spread it and did not notice, this was around 9-10pm September 22nd yesterday . I also believe the soap brand was “ softsoap ”. Next morning at 8am September 23rd today, me and my family saw that he wasn’t looking good and saw him drooling (his mouth is open just enough to where his tongue is sticking out between his teet”

“I came home and my 5 month old kitten had chewed up one of my Cymbalta/duloxetine tablets. The casing on the tablet was hard from her saliva and there were a few of the balls from the inside stuck on the outside of the medication. Everything else was left untouched and she did not swallow the tablet. Her pupils are currently dilated and she’s a bit lethargic. I called her vet and she said that they don’t have anything at the clinic to induce vomiting and all they would be able to do is give her”
