Laminate Planks Ran the Wrong Direction

“Twice my installer laid this floor down in the same room and twice the installation has failed. The other 75% of my house has the same floor and there’s no issues but for some reason, they cannot get it right in this room. I can’t figure out why either. There was previously…”
“Hey all, first time getting work done with a contractor. In the rendering as well as verbally discussed, these wood tiles were supposed to go along the longest length of the room, pointing toward the window. With no communication, one of their guys started on the floor yesterday…”
“The floor closest was already there - but I don’t have any extra that was left with the house. The transition for the other rooms I did light up with the door threshold, but this is off by a few inches. I would have just added a small strip of the new flooring but it doesn’t…”

The other 75% of my house has the same floor and there’s no issues but for some reason, they cannot get it right in this room. I can’t figure out why either. There was previously engineered hardwood that was installed on this floor, so I’m not sure if that had something to do with it. Any advice would be great. They used Henry 650 R adhesive on this floor with a primer. I pulled up one of the planks b”

“We installed this vinyl flooring and it is lifting on the edges in a few places. The floor has a grip strip (tack strip) that overlaps on each piece. We aren’t sure the best way to repair it when it comes up like this other than replacing pieces that are lifting. The issue is isolated in higher traffic areas. Do you know a quick and easy way to repair it rather than replacing pieces? Thanks! submitted by /u/Grandindustrial5 [link] [comments]”
“I am redoing a kitchen that previously had hardwood floors which ran from the living room into the kitchen. They cut the hardwood floor where the kitchen began to rip it out and put down tile. The transition edge is really jagged and uneven (not straight) and it looks like crap. I’m hoping to hear feedback about what are some Solutions for this before asking the construction company to fix? Or am I being unreasonable and this is what a finished product should look like? submitted by”
“Hired a contractor to replaced damaged floor section. Each board measures the same width as the existing flooring. I’m at a loss as this is the second attempt as they accidentally installed red oak instead of white. I’m going to talk to him tomorrow but just curious what you all think. submitted by /u/tamandcheese [link] [comments]”
“I'm not a professional floor installer, this is a DIY job for my place. I do have some laminate left over, a full box and pieces, but are these fillable/paintable with a putty or wax of some sort? submitted by /u/Ecstatic-Knee-7689 [link] [comments]”

“We're replacing the LVP in our home because the builder-installed flooring is only 4 mm thick and has already started failing. Several planks have popped up, and in a few areas, screw heads from the subfloor are actually protruding through the flooring. We had a flooring contractor come out, and they recommended the two LVP options shown in the pictures. They also noted that our subfloor has a few minor depressions that will need to be addressed before installation. Does anyone have experien”
“I’m installing laminate flooring in my dining area and attempting to even out this Frankenstein flooring job that the previous owner left. I’ve been using a sander but some areas are very high. Any suggestions on how to easily cover this so I can put laminate planks over? Or is there another option of something else we can put over this in front of the door? Help! submitted by /u/ark0116 [link] [comments]”

“We installed these floors prior to cabinet installation in the kitchen. Shortly thereafter the planks separated. Also, when I mopped with the Bissel Crosswave it caught a corner and chipped it. We are putting the house on the market soon. Would like to see if there is something that could at least temporarily make it look better with plans to offer a flooring allowance upon sale. Suggestions? submitted by”
“We bought this house that has low-quality flooring, and we can’t replace it for at least a few years, so I need advice on how to maintain it for as long as possible. Previous owner didn’t leave any extra boards. First things first—is this laminate flooring? In spots where it has chipped 😖 it looks to me like pressed wood pulp underneath. Can I fill in or seal the spots that have chipped so they don’t get worse? If so, what should I use?</”
“The pattern looks so off. Contractor said it was because they were worried we didn’t have enough flooring planks? And making random pattern would have costed more material (according to him)”
“Indeed. I laid all new subfloor after sistering joists in my place, with an eight foot level and a laser. I had ideal conditions, and it turned out how it should have. Was so happy to have extra when I had a roof leak. Pulling trim and all that is a bit of a pain, but well worth it for the result. Got to touch up my trim job on my door, so that was a bonus. Thank God none of the boards around the flush cut vents were damaged. Never want to do that again. Bamboo”
