“New house and notices this on some of the tiles in the bathroom. Not very noticeable- took me a while to see them. What is the common cause? Is there a chance these are new from my cats jumping down from the sink? We live in new orleans could it be related to some house settling…”

“Looking for some guidance. We sanded our floor and the wood below was white oak. I liked white oak and decided to go with that so we did not stain the wood. My flooring contractor put a single coat of Loba Viva satin. After couple days he came again and did a buff and applied second coat of Loba Viva. He said it’s better to get a third coat if we have kids running around the house with a pet as well. Now I need help with 3 questions: 1- Do I even need a third coat? 2- If yes then It’s been 2 day”

“Has anyone used a different 10mm rubber underlayment for flooring? Old nyc house with plank floors that have been screwed down. Poly glue in gaps. In process of planing and sanding before patching with mapei plani patch with plani patch plus. Plan to seal after and then loose lay 10mm rubber underlayment. Polyethylene foam perimeter barrier 3/8 before rubber lay. Rosin paper and then 2 layers of 1/4” playwood with staggered seams, loctite original glue and stapled/screwed together. That plywood”

“We are currently renovating our resale HDB flat and had intended to keep our existing 34-year-old marble flooring. Unfortunately, several marble tiles were damaged during the hacking works. We are looking to purchase replacement marble that could closely match our existing floor (We understand there is no 100% match). Any recommendation please? 28 pcs of 600 × 300 × 12 mm (± thickness) for the floor 30 pcs of 300 × 71 × 6 mm (± thickness) for the skirting submitted by /u/JayNahhhhh [”

“Flooring installer here. I see a lot of people either terrified of refinishing or way too confident about renting a sander and “figuring it out on the weekend.” The reality is somewhere in between. A few things I wish more folks knew before they start: Refinishing is mostly about sanding, not stain. The stain and finish are the fun part, but 90% of how your floor looks comes down to the sanding. If you leave swirl marks, dips, or skip grits, you’ll see them forever once the finish hits. You’re r”

“Noticed some gaps in LVP planks. I'd estimate they are about 0.1 mm in width. Is this within spec? submitted by /u/Different-Party-b00b [link] [comments]”

“Looking to lay lvp on slab on grade. Pulled up the old laminate, found some pretty bad self leveling repair jobs. Is it better to try and pour self leveler throughout the entire house (it’s 950 sqft). Or rent some sort of grinder and try and grind all the high spots. submitted by /u/BeginningTricky2689 [link] [comments]”

“I am wondering how to bring out more of the brick color. My contractor left more grout haze than I would have preferred and it has more of a whitewash look than I was wanting. They used the 511 impregnating sealer before applying the grout. The 2nd 2 pictures are what it looks like when I wet some of the bricks and it brightens the red tones. It is the old mill brick cut into thin tiles. Any suggestions? submitted by /u/TheseAsparagus4624 [link] [comments]”

“Replaced the very old and worn out flooring in my aunt's living room, and quarter round was run up to a piece like this in every corner of the room. What are these things called? Thanks in advance! :-) submitted by /u/ConsistentCupcake524 [link] [comments]”

“Remodeling a home and I'll need some more of this lvp. Does anyone recognize it or the brand? I was hoping there were identifying marks on the rear but it only reads" US L4 =43=" with the production date and time below it. Any help is appreciated. submitted by /u/iopturbo [link] [comments]”

“The photos suggest Crema Marfil as the Floor material which is filled with epoxy because it has pores in it that is showing in the darker portions of the tile. You say new house assuming it was just built. Those cracks would suggest some settling has occurred in the Floor. That material also, as with any natural Stone has cracks in it that sometimes develop over time. If the pieces aren’t moving, if it doesn’t feel springy under foot you’re probably OK. I can’t speak to the installation but that”
