“I’m needing some advice. I have a severe clogged duct (skin has turned red but I have no fever/chills, etc) and an Nurse Practitioner at the clinic I went to advised to apply heat, massage and immediately stick my baby on the boob to breastfeed or pump. I’ve tried that but it feels like my boob only becomes more agitated, although I do feel like it loosens up the milk a bit - but the lump never goes away and sometimes my boob becomes hard again. I checked AI as well, and AI says this is an old p”

“Does anybody have any tricks to keep him comfortable? I’m not looking for medical advice, just how to get through this with as little stress on him as possible. I’m breast feeding so I’m planning on doing that more regularly, keeping an eye on diaper output, temperature etc. He seems happy enough right now even with congestion and a little cough, but in case he gets worse I want all the little tricks to try. ETA he’s 4 months old! We have now purchased a humidifier for our room, and I have lots”

“Hi everyone. I’ve come down with a viral fever and a runny nose, and my temperature is around 101°F. I have a premature baby who was born at 35 weeks. He has been gaining weight really well since I started pumping and giving him a few extra mLs. My concern is whether I can continue breastfeeding while I have a fever, and whether it’s safe for him to drink the milk I pump while I’m sick. I’ve been away from him for a day now, but I’ve continued giving him the milk I pumped. I stopped breastfeedin”

“I breastfed my daughter until about April of this year so it has been a minute since we weaned. But, I don’t know where else to post this. I never had a clogged duct or mastitis or anything during our breastfeeding journey. Two days ago my left breast started to feel very tender on the inner side, almost felt like it was bruised or something. It felt/feels kind of heavy like when I was nursing. Today I avoided carrying my daughter on my left hip because even that added pressure and was a bit pai”

I go to the doctor tomorrow but could use some relief tonight. I haven't taken any medications and have only used a humidifier and drink tea for relief but I am coughing so hard its making me pee my pants (separate convo with the doctor tomorrow!) and laying down is almost unbearable because i cant breathe. “I am officially sick! I’ve been dreading this day since I gave birth lol. I’m wondering what I can take to help me get through this and what I should or shouldn’t do for baby. So far he doesn’t have any symptoms and I’d like to keep it that way. He is 5 months old. submitted by /u/Longjumping-Cap-6795 [link] [comments]”

“My son is 20 months and still breastfeeding. When he was around 5 months I got a cold, and ever since then I’ve had chronic sinus problems. The worst symptom is dizziness that feels like I’m motion sick, but I’ve also got facial pressure, ear pain when flying, and headaches. It comes and goes every couple of weeks or so and I’m absolutely miserable! I know pregnancy rhinitis is a thing and pregnancy/nursing hormones can cause inflammation, and since I’ve never had sinus issues in the past my onl”

“Poor baby is battling his second fever in one month .. and it has been rough. All he wants is to be on the boob nursing half asleep. He takes Tylenol and ibuprofen and has seen the doctors.. we just have to ride it out.. but my boobs are so confused .. we went from three maybe four feeds a day a few days ago to now nursing for hours at night and during the day. I’m happy to provide comfort but my goodness … I feel very drained. Anyone else in this boat? He started daycare one week ago .. but to”

“Pic in comments. It felt a bit sore last night and then the baby slept all night so woke up really sore and my whole body just felt sore. I started feeling flu like (getting slightly warm chills, becoming photophobic). Took some ibuprofen 7 hours ago and felt fine for quite a while but it’s starting to come back now. Just bf as much as possible and luckily my husband took the 3 year old out most of the day. Baby is almost 11 weeks old submitted by /u/smcgr [link] [comments]”

“I’m 6w 4d pregnant, and down with influenza B flu. Yesterday my fever ran upto 102.4 every 5 hours, then I would take paracetamol because that’s the only drug my GP allowed. Fever would come down to 100.5 in 60mins after taking paracetamol. Then after 5 hours again fever 102. This continued for 24hrs. Today we got my flu report and turns out I have influenza B. i started tamiflu today. I want to know if getting flu in first trimester affects the baby? If yes then how? submitted by /u”

“I am 3 days pp and am ebf. When we got home from being discharged from the hospital yesterday evening, I suddenly started getting body aches, chills, I felt super out of it, and felt slightly warm (according to my husband). My boobs HURT and I started leaking like crazy out of nowhere. This is my 2nd baby (also ebf’d) and my initial thought was mastitis and I remember getting it a few times with my first. I took an ibuprofen and my symptoms got better. Throughout the night my symptoms kinds went”

“Being sick while breastfeeding is the worst… All I want to do is sleep and take Sudafed. Two things I can’t do with a 4 month old. It’s 2026… can’t someone develop a decongestant that won’t dry up milk??? submitted by /u/Danedogmom [link] [comments]”

“I've never had it before, I've had clogged ducts a few times and this feels exactly like that however the reason I'm confused is I have a fever. A few days ago, I got a cough, a wet one, (now did my chest hurt back then, if it was mild I don't remember, maybe?) then my nose got runny, then on my second day, night, I got a fever. A fever that came and went throughout the day. Sometimes I'm super hot and sweating because I'm overdressed for the fever, the next I'm tremb”

“Baby girl is 5 months old EBF, and we co sleep: she’s never ever ever been a good sleeper at night but usually she would nurse and fall off boob within a couple minutes and then sleep . We would wake up every hour and a half about Now she needs the nipple to sleep continuously. But she’s bobbing??? She gets off and then lunges back on, this happens multiple multiple multiple times . Wondering if this is because I’m so flat chested and on my side ?? She’s not gassy, had a little toot but nothing”

“First time mom and so lost, would appreciate your help and support. My little one is about 5 weeks postpartum. I have been trying to breastfeed her it took a couple of weeks for my supply to catch up to her, but I suddenly got mastitis with high fever, which is currently being managed. My supply has tanked, because felt very unwell initially and didn’t know what was causing the fever and missed quite a few feeds. In trying to reestablish breastfeeding I have noticed my LO gets very red and choke”

“My baby is six weeks old and has surpassed birth weight. I haven’t set alarms in a couple weeks for feedings overnight. She often can go a nice 4-5 hour stretch without waking. (Not bragging, taking the wins when I can) when she finally does wake up, my boobs hurt and have lumps all over. I’ll nurse her and they will feel better/back to normal. I’m curious if this continues, will it tank my supply or cause mastitis? I’m genuinely terrified of it. submitted by /u/Abject_Willow_2082 [l”
