NewTubers can't get views on their videos

“Yeah do your own calculation on how many 1 out of 1000 is? And think about how many days you need to watch to even fill 1000 watchhours, consider, that there is also a limited number of watch hours that count per IP and your own watches don't count and other hurdles, that makes…”
“Dang. [re: Stuck at 0 views no matter what I post, I actually give up]”
“I can definitely relate to some of this. I’ve been doing YouTube for almost two years now, and one thing I’ve learned is that growth is anything but consistent. When I first started, my channel actually grew pretty quickly. I managed to hit 1,000 subscribers within my first six…”
Many new YouTubers are struggling to gain visibility and views on their videos, leading to frustration and discouragement. Some feel their efforts are unnoticed, while others are taking the process more seriously after reaching significant watch time milestones. Some are quitting due to lack of success.

“I don’t think you read the post correctly. OP was saying that if you wouldn’t want to watch your own content, then why would anybody else. They were not saying to watch your own content to boost your views, that would be ridiculous”
“Yeah do your own calculation on how many 1 out of 1000 is? And think about how many days you need to watch to even fill 1000 watchhours, consider, that there is also a limited number of watch hours that count per IP and your own watches don't count and other hurdles, that makes it impossible to watch 24/7 from one IP or geolocation or account. In the end this absolutely does not matter.”
“Just send him/her a personal message explaining what happened. It's entirely possible they never even noticed.”
“Just uploaded my 200th video. Haven't made a dime, and don't see that changing soon. But my channel is super niche and so I plod along, adding a few followers here and there. Someone told me consistency is key so I'll just keep uploading my 1-2 / week. Also, have you seen those J-curves where it's flat forever, and then it starts rising, growing exponentially? I'm not there yet but who's to say you're not quitting RIGHT before the up? Best of luck to you either way.”
“Start for the wrong reasons, fail for the right ones. If it’s not a passion project it’s dead before your first upload.”
“There's no shame in trying, u did whatever you could and it's also alright to quit as long as it's ur decision, both my physical and mental health got affected because of something similar so I genuinely get it. Best of luck for your future 🤍”
“Yeah this is really good advice, I personally see YouTube as a creative outlook, and if I'm ever feeling down it's really nice to read my nice comments.”
“This op^ Don't delete your channel or lose the login credentials lol. You'll wake up one day and want to try again. Whether it be 6 months or 2 years from now. Life has a funny way of working things out. You'll be a different person by then, and with the much needed time off, and to reflect on things, you could have a Eureka moment and the channel will be there waiting for you.”
“Yeah it's not easy to make money. Going viral with a video is lovely but there's no guarantee anybody does. There's so much to watch on YouTube. Once you build an audience it's pretty nice, actually, but if you don't like appearing on screen, that's understandable. I don't like appearing on screen either so I normally synthesise my voice with Eleven Labs. I actually like editing, and I'm pretty quick, but I've been doing YouTube as a hobby for like 5 years now”
“As someone who makes a living doing this, this is the best job in the world, but nothing about this is easy”
“I could persevere and try again, but it isn’t for me. It's not for you because the way you went about doing this isn't for ANYONE. 100 videos in 100 days, double digit hours editing every day, all for half the watch time needed for monetization from low rpm countries even before the 8k update even kicks in... That's brutal and unsustainable. I'm actually impressed you lasted a year doing it that way. I would quit too if I had to work like that, and I work with the biggest channel”
“The top videos are a few tutorials (evergreen) that got spread in low RPM country discords. It was a while ago. I don’t like that content anymore. At this point my RPM/CPM would be a joke. I wouldn’t even get to the minimum payout.”
“most people who quit youtube dont even get to 2000 watch hours so you clearly did something right even if it felt like a failure”
“You didn’t waste a year. You learned a bunch of skills, learned what you don’t like and maybe some of what you like. You learned about yourself and your limits. I’m positive you’ll find that all these enriched your life sooner or later”
“I can definitely relate to some of this. I’ve been doing YouTube for almost two years now, and one thing I’ve learned is that growth is anything but consistent. When I first started, my channel actually grew pretty quickly. I managed to hit 1,000 subscribers within my first six months along with unlocking all the monetisation, and I genuinely thought I was on the right track. Then things slowed down massively. I spent the majority of this year uploading videos that I put hours of work into, only”
“I know this seems brutal but at least 80% of people taking a run at YouTube need to have this same revelation”
“No shame. We've all got to eat. Everything is finacialiased these days so it was worth a try but your physical and mental health is what's important and I'm glad you realised that”
