Nonprofit organizations using Learning Management Systems (LMS) face challenges when asked to translate courses, particularly when those courses were not originally developed by them. The process involves navigating content from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), dealing with complex translation requirements, and ensuring dialect accuracy, leading to significant effort and potential conflict.

“I have a feature suggestion that I think would be useful for everyone: the option to use custom offline translation models. I believe this would be extremely beneficial, as it would provide greater flexibility—for instance, users could choose a model that performs better on their…”
“Part of 846, findings loop 882; found writing the guide 880. The guide has to teach translation as "duplicate the book, set the document language, translate the Markdown", because a book with several editions can only come from a .postext file written with localized (code or CLI). The edition bar, side by side view and checks in every edition are therefore out of reach of a reader who starts from one book. An "Add a language" action in the Books panel (copy the open edition's chapters into a new”
“The browser UI is currently mainly in English. While I can use English, I’m more comfortable using my native language, so I’d like to request multilingual support. Specifically, it would be great if UI strings could be extracted into translatable resource files instead of being hard coded; users could switch the UI language; custom language packs could be loaded so users can translate the interface or create their own language packs; the project could provide documentation, a template, and examp”
“What do you want to do that you can't right now? Hello, administrator. Thank you for sharing such a great game. I have a request. Could you please add Korean voice overs and subtitles? I’m asking this as a sincere favor. Proposed solution No response”
“Great work, I see this will grow into something bigger. You could: Make Localization, where users can translate the globe/website to different languages or you could let the AI do it. Add a feature where user can add/suggest a place to be added to the globe, and from your side the AI will search and gather information about that place and then add it (I don't mean to add it immediately, but after reviewing). [re: I built a little interactive globe for my two boys. Somehow, they became my ent”
“depends on resourcing; if you have the engineering resources to add other languages, I don't see why you wouldn't. Similarly don't understand the rationale of treating french vs korean vs spanish speakers as different segments - for the group you're describing, the learnings sound like they will mostly be transferable between languages. [re: Narrow niche vs. broad market for a v1: how would you decide?]”
“Yes, it is; it's more complex than it appears if you want to do the translation properly. What's the platform? [re: Looking for 10 Shopify store owners to beta test our multilingual translation]”
“The fallback question is the interesting part. A reader clicking on a zh link and seeing English content probably feels like the page is broken, even if you label it as a fallback. I would keep the page unavailable until the translation is ready, or show a simple "translation in progress" screen instead of serving the wrong language. Fewer confused users than a page that looks finished but is not what they asked for. The part about separating freshness from language readiness makes sen”
“That's another thing people underestimate Localization goes way beyond translation Appreciate you sharing your experience [re: Tried adding Arabic to my SaaS. Gave up after 6 hours]”
“Good tip, thanks. A task that needs no Portuguese (tap A+, share a verse as an image, say whether it came out cropped) is a much better ask than reading the text. I'll put that, and the note about the phone's account and staying the full 14 days, into my next posts. [re: [Android] Bíblia Amanhecer – a calm, large-print Bible app for Brazilian readers. Looking for 12+ early users for 14 days]”
“Problem Translated text cannot be selected. Long pressing a translation does nothing, so there is no way to copy it. To reuse a translation I would have to retype it by hand. Expected behaviour Long pressing a translation selects the text and offers the standard Android context menu with "Copy" (and ideally "Share" and "Select all"). The source text should be selectable as well. Proposed solution Set android:textIsSelectable="true" on the translation TextView s, or use a selectable text componen”
“Most testers here won't read Portuguese, so give them a task that needs none: tap A+ twice, share a verse as an image to WhatsApp, and say if the image came out cropped. That answers your sharing question across many phones, and notes like that are feedback you can quote when you apply for production. Your same-account note is right; add that it must be the account on their phone, and that testers who leave break the 14 days. I make ThreadFox. Test Rounds puts Bíblia Amanhecer into a round o”
“Currently, DeckCraft's user interface is only available in English (or limited languages). As an Italian user, I would love to use the application in my native language to improve accessibility and user experience. Thank you for this amazing project!”

“RTL support is probably one of the biggest things to get right beyond translation, especially when forms mix Arabic with numbers, emails, or English text. I'd also look into local payment preferences, since they can vary quite a bit by country. Are you planning to target a specific country first or the Arabic-speaking market as a whole? [re: Anyone here building SaaS for Arabic-speaking users?]”
“Beyond translation, the part that usually breaks is the layout, because a simply mirrored form still puts error messages, phone numbers and email fields in the wrong direction, and Arabic users notice that straight away. I’d take your three most-used templates and test them fully right-to-left with real Arabic text, since Arabic usually needs more line height than English to read cleanly. Are the customers asking for it mostly in the Gulf or North Africa? [re: Anyone here building SaaS for Arabi”
“Hope it's OK if I reply in English — my French isn't good enough for a proper reply! Good point, and it's exactly why I think there's an opening. Atlassian is pushing everyone toward JSM, but the migration has real gaps (phone number porting, SSO, Terraform configs don't transfer automatically), and you need JSM Premium for full on-call features — so it ends up costing more. And for teams that chose Opsgenie as a standalone tool, not a Jira extension, getting pushed toward th”

“Hi there, I stumbled upon this tool while randomly searching online for a solution, and I must say it’s brilliant! Excellent work on this project. Since the interface is currently in Chinese, I used AI to translate everything into English so I could set it up and use it. However, I realize any future updates might reset it back to Chinese. Are there any plans to add native English language support in an upcoming release?”
“What problem does this solve? I'm building a multilanguage documentation for my open source project, I was tring to translate in many way the "Switch Version" test on the navigation, but seem like the text is hard coded....can we (you) do something? <span class="button text" <span class="vpi versioning icon" / Switch Version </span”

“Focus on an English version first, translated with the meanings you've intended, so there's at least one accurate and accessible version. Tbh I hate it when some websites try to serve me their website in Estonian and it sounds all clunky and poorly translated plus if you need any help then you need to consult English-language sources anyway and then it's difficult to figure out where I find the same things in my "localized" version. If your course expects people to use Engl”
“basically someone in my discord server for my game offered to localize the demo for free, in exchange for a copy of the game on release (obviously i will offer more than this & include them in credits), they seem to be part of an indie/hobby localization studio that focuses on cozy games, i also have my game's text fitted in csvs but have not properly looked into localization due to costs and etc. is there any possible risk to my game just to send them .csv files if i handle all the impo”
“Before you file [x] I searched the open and closed issues and this isn't requested yet. Which look is this for? Redesign What you'd like, and why Hi, I'd like to contribute a Korean translation for Chroma's settings UI. Currently all strings are hardcoded in English directly in the .m files, which makes it difficult to add translations without rebuilding the tweak. Would you consider refactoring the UI strings to use NSLocalizedString with a base English .strings file? If you add that foundation”
“Area (tag) UI / Layout Problem statement Community reviews pulled from Trakt.tv (/movies/{id}/comments) are predominantly submitted in English. For Spanish speaking users on Android TV, this makes the reviews section largely unusable because there is no built in way to translate or filter user reviews in the UI. Proposed solution Community reviews pulled from Trakt.tv (/movies/{id}/comments) are predominantly submitted in English. For Spanish speaking users on Android TV, this makes the reviews”
“Add dataset translations. Take a dataset, translate it to a language, and make language selection an option on Jeffy Use case described by comment on HN (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49952756): For me, this is a personal assistant that operates in Polish, and maintains memory across more than 20 categories. For every question, I have first to select the relevant category (or indicate that none apply) so the system can retrieve the right information from memory. Right now, I’m using Jev w”

“What problem does this solve? The UI is hardcoded in English with no way to change it. Users who prefer Chinese (or any non English language) can't read menus, dialogs and toasts comfortably, and there is no alternative short of forking the app to translate it. Describe your ideal solution Add a Language option under Settings ▸ General with three choices: Follow system (default, resolved from the OS/browser language), 简体中文, English. Implement it as a small, dependency free i18n layer: a message”
“Fair catch, and thanks for actually running it on the site. i18n/hreflang isn't something the analyzer checks yet. I've just added the missing hreflang (self + x-default) and og:locale tags to the site itself, and I'm adding an "international readiness" check (lang attribute, hreflang validity, locale consistency) to the report. The site is English-only for now, so a perfect score probably needs real localisation, but this should close the cheap gaps.”
“I personally agree—a translation model should stay faithful to the input. We didn’t specifically train it for safety filtering or to bypass safeguards. We trained from Qwen3.5 Base, so some inherited behaviors may still show through(especially larger model), but replacing the translation with a lecture is definitely not the intended behavior.”

“This was literally the first thing I did with ChatGPT 2 years ago. Translate while I was camping with a Chinese family. His English was new and my Chinese is awful. So I used chat and we were both having the most in-depth conversation we’ve ever had. Now it’s so fast compared to then.”
“First of all, thank you for building this great tool! Currently, the interface seems to be only available in English [o Spanish, depenent d'en quin idioma estiga actualment]. Adding internationalization (i18n) support would make yups.io much more accessible to non English speaking users worldwide. Suggested Solution: Implement an i18n framework (such as react i18next, next intl, or similar depending on the stack) to separate UI text strings from the codebase. Extract existing string literals int”
“Summary I'd like to translate the KoInsight web app into Slovak (and make it possible for others to add their languages too). Right now all UI strings are hardcoded in English in the React components, so there's no way to translate it without adding i18n support first. Context I've already opened a PR that adds a Slovak translation to the KOReader plugin. The plugin gets its own small koinsight l10n module, and English stays the default. It would be great to have the web UI match. Proposal Add a”
“This is certainly useful, but it requires careful tag maintenance. It would be great if there was an option for the translator to ignore tags altogether, perhaps.”
Would be handy have a config parameter for select the UI language.
“Hello. Please add Turkish language support. I tried to add it myself but couldn't manage to do so.🙏”
Please, add English README EN.md(for Russian README RU.md maybe?) file.
“So i got a review from one of the first users that they speak chinese and it didnt work properly for them as they cant understand english on native level. And Deiko was english supported the transcription and brief to agents all was in english. So I checked on things i could add and I updated Deiko to now have a brief language options into either english(default) or the language user spoke. And similarly for offline mode the languages supported by the mac device user is using will be shown as op”
“Summary Please consider adding Arabic , starting with Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) , to the TranslatePsy roadmap for bidirectional translation: English → Arabic Arabic → English It would also be valuable to evaluate Moroccan Arabic (Darija) as a distinct later track rather than assuming that MSA coverage automatically transfers to dialectal Arabic. Why this fits TranslatePsy Arabic is one of the most widely used languages in Africa and the Middle East, yet it is not currently included in the pub”
“Amazing feedback thanks will check the resource. I have code-switching implanted but has not been fully tested. The missus tested in tagalish blend of Tagalog and English she says is doing great, but that's just the 1 language set.”
“Hey everyone! I’ve been working in translation/localization for about 15 years. I actually started on the translation side (and studied translation), but over the years moved more and more into project management and operations. I now work in an Operations leadership role in the localization industry. A lot of what I do is manage teams and figure out workflows and localization strategies for clients that have all kinds of content to translate (different assets, platforms, content types, subject”
“Hi, thank you for developing and maintaining understand anything ! As a Chinese speaking user, I would like to request support for a Chinese language environment . Currently, using the project primarily in English can be challenging for Chinese speaking users. It would be very helpful if the project could provide better support for Chinese, especially when using the project for development and daily workflows. Ideally, the Chinese environment could include: Simplified Chinese ( zh CN ) language”
“There are 6 backgrounds per language, to match the country of that language. It doesn't match what is being typed, but it tries to visually represent the location of the language, I guess is what I'm trying to say.”
“The code for the Language Translation Model appears broken in a few places; Line 38: dataset = load dataset("opus books", "en fr") I could not get this to work until I changed it to; dataset = load dataset("Helsinki NLP/opus books", "en fr") Line 115: logging dir="./logs", Apparently this is unneeded and is deprecated, I removed this line. Line 119: no cuda=False Changed this to use cpu=False Line 131: tokenizer=tokenizer Gemini believes the code needs the DataCollatorForSeq2Seq instead of Seq2S”
“The text could be better placed inside the dialog boxes using the spaces like the brazilian portuguese translation of Terranigma found here: https://www.romhacking.net/translations/7276/ If possible and you wish so, why not trying another fonts? Maybe you'll find some you'll like. 👍”
