“We have a 9.5 month old great pyrenees/heeler mix who is really becoming a great dog. His biggst issue has been separation anxiety but he's already making great progress. Now that we've addressed that with him, I'm hoping to find out how to get him sleeping longer. He sleeps…”

“Y’all how much of the day do your dogs sleep? My 11 month old beagle/australian shepherd mix is crated while my husband and I work. Usually around 8 hours (I know I know “that’s too looooonggggg” spare me). He also sleeps through the night, that’s…”

Now that we've addressed that with him, I'm hoping to find out how to get him sleeping longer. He sleeps through the night with no issues, usually 11-6, but even if my husband (night owl) takes him out before bed around midnight he still is crying to be let out at 6. He doesn't rush to go to the bathroom (i usua”
“Crazy zoomies and land shark right now but she’s had trouble settling without being near or at feet. 9 week old labradoodle have had her for four days lol. Don’t want to keep getting bitten but keeps biting so won’t nap. submitted by /u/steelers412pgh [link] [comments]”
“We have got a cockapoo puppy, he is currently 11.5 weeks, we got him at 8 weeks and sleep is probably our biggest struggle at the moment. We didn’t go into this blind, we knew it would be bad and both took a week off work to get him settled in etc. For the first week, he wouldn’t go into the crate so we just let him settle on the floor in his pen and we slept on the couch in the living room and got up to settle him or take him to the toilet throughout the night, we gradually transitioned to him”

Sometimes especially after food he will whine a bit but then settle nicely in the crate but the nap NEVER lasts long like literally 20-30 mins and he wakes up whining. I do a very boring potty trip. and then he just cant settle back in the crate. i can see and hear him on the camera, I wait for a pause in the whining and go into the room and try reassure him if he gets super”
“We adopted our 19-week-old rescue puppy about a week ago, and our biggest struggle is getting him to settle. He seems constantly overstimulated and unable to switch off on his own. When tired, he becomes increasingly restless, starts biting, jumping, and chewing everything. Ignoring him doesn’t help, as he simply finds something else to destroy. He learnes commmands quickly, but seems to have almost no ability to self-regulate. We’re considering enforced naps using a playpen or crate. Has anyone”
“I got my puppy on Sunday and she turned 9 weeks Tuesday. Mixed breed but best guess is blue heeler/aussie shepherd. She was super anxious the first few days and would NOT settle. Tried to put her in her crate and she was screaming frantic bloody murder highly distressed. I slept with her in her pen but up every hour. 2 days later she was so tired and did relax and slept in the crate for 5 hours. But I haven't gotten her to sleep in the crate since. I put high value treats and feed her meals”
“Our 9 week old Labradoodle has trouble settling. We have had him for 9 days and have not had any success getting him to settle down and sleep during the day. He sleeps well at night in our bedroom on the floor with a blanket. During the day he cannot settle down anywhere, not in crate, not tethered or in his bed. He only sleeps for 12~ hours every day, not the recommended amount of 16-20. We try to go outside -> pee -> short play/training -> pee -> inside to calm down. Please send he”
“I am bringing home a rescue puppy home next week. She is 6 months old and is a small mixed breed (13 pounds currently) from Greece. I live in a condo, and will be able to take time off work when she first arrives here. She is currently being fostered not that far away, and has been doing well with crate and potty training. I am most worried about separation anxiety behaviours when I eventually return to work (she will be alone for 4 hours) as I don’t want her barking all day. I also don’t want t”
“Our rescue pug/jack russell dog. Estimated to be three years old has recently surfaced some very weird behavior. nearly every night at around 7:30 or eight, he will tense up, start yipping, and then attack the pillows in one of our two couches. This happens whether he's had multiple walks, a trip to the dog park. It happens with a full bowl of food (we free feed) and it's annoying. Any similar experiences, and thoughts, any advice is welcome. Note: This is the only time of day such behav”

“Hello! We recently adopted a rescue pup from Turkey. He was presented to us a lab mix but we actually think he’s a Dogo Argentina and Pointer mix. He’s 5 months old now and we’ve only had him for 3 weeks. He has recently started showing some aggressive behaviour (mostly at night) with biting (quite hard biting, almost breaking skin). It’s not related to play, there seems to be a bit of resource guarding (while we are eating seems to be a trigger has never protected his own food or treats) but th”
“I have a 6 month old blue heeler, she's becoming a bit of a nightmare. i take her out 3 times a day usually 30-45 mins after she eats and we walk about .5 miles then sit at the small dog park at my apartment building. Ive tried bringing the training pads to the dog park or even just outside our front door and she will hold everything in until she gets inside. she's also started eating walls?? didn't know dogs did that :/. any advice would be very appreciated submitted by”
