“Block 2x 90-min focus blocks on your calendar (same times daily) and decline anything that conflicts unless you're required. If you can't get that, start converting recurring meetings into async updates.”
“My team meeting was canceled today and replaced with a 1 on 1, 30 minute skip level call named Org Update. I have a feeling I know what the contents of the call are…”
“If you're not seeing the schedule notice, then the schedule didn't save for some reason or it was "unsave-able" for some reason. Support can help.”
Several remote workers are concerned about calendar blocks remaining visible after they leave a company. They're using reminders to ensure these blocks are removed, fearing potential embarrassment or professional repercussions from lingering access.

“Browser wake is the sneaky one: the page can look alive while serving yesterday’s truth. The stale warning should use the last successful sync, not the last attempt.”
“Its fully flexible the days the reminders go out, same with the term period. I just picked those numbers randomly. Good point that it's only the last reminder that people are interested in, I wonder if some more research will uncover better time frames 🤔”
“Yesterday I put a fake calendar hold on my schedule so people would stop booking over my lunch. A partner asked what the meeting was. I told him it was "personal." Now I'm wondering whether that sounded professional, suspicious, or like I'm secretly interviewing somewhere. Not sure if I can do anything at this moment... submitted by /u/LittleTrust2978 [link] [comments]”
“I received a meeting invite at 3:30 pm today for tomorrow at 8:00 am titled, "Team Update - MUST ATTEND" from my normally very chill manager. All of his direct reports (about 10 of us) are invited. There is no one else invited (his direct reports' reports, HR, people from other teams). My company has had TONS of layoffs (big and small) over the last few years. “I have no solutions for you, but I do agree they kinda suck. Better than nothing, of course, but also could definitely be better.”
“I'm with most people here, apparently I had missed something in the E-learning so my manager texted me when I was many states away. I leave work at work.”
“Why not just block the hour or half hour on your calendar? Why make people guess?”
“Document everything on a personal device. Save all the screenshots of the calendar and of the messages from your manager.”
“Monday morning update Our outsourced IT staff responded to ask that I check Teams and said "its possible that the outlook calendar is syncing with teams." This morning the person who tried to propose a new time said my calendar no longer shows this blocker. I still feel like I've seen something prematurely that I wasn't supposed to see and I'm asking for the root cause of how this was changed. Stay tuned!”
“Could it be that your boss is also being terminated and doesn't know so it was their manager that submitted the termination? I've also seen one example in my company that someone was terminated by someone in error and they weren't being let go. Someone selected the wrong person's ID when they were doing the task. Best of luck, what ever happens. This doesn't define you”
“There are a hundred different block messages they could've used. They chose that for a reason.”
