“Hi everyone, looking for some advice on a situation. A few months back, a B-level producer expressed interest in reading a pilot of mine. Fast forward several months, and she finally read it and was very enthusiastic. We met, and she said she’s interested in packaging it. She has a particular actor in mind who she has access to in the next few weeks and wants to pitch him the show to come aboard as the lead actor and as a producer as well. She wants me to develop a pitch deck and said that once”
“I recently took a meeting that I hope encourages my fellow writers. I am working with a very well known producer and was introduced to a new screenwriter who is repped at a very reputed management company. These are the companies that people on this board beg to be associated with because of their A-list talent and awards. I read the script and it was far from perfect. There was potential but there were typos, formatting issues, and major plot and character flaws. The point is, you don't nee”
“Do you just try to write the best script possible or do you take in to account the cost and feasibility of filming? submitted by /u/Optimumoctave [link] [comments]”
“I’m so curious about this. For those of us who don’t have managers or agents or any connections to the industry, we can’t exactly get in the room to pitch our projects (at least to “legit” people who can actually get things greenlit and produced). Those pitch meetings are exclusively for proven writers with representation. So the only thing we can really do is the dreaded cold query, where most of the time it’s ignored. Can’t blame them, I can’t imagine the amount of “please read my project” ema”
“I want to get my scripts made by an indie producer but have no idea where to look. I am based in Australia if that’s any help. submitted by /u/hamo-potato42 [link] [comments]”
“Hi! I had a script request come directly from an independent producer following a cold query email I sent a couple of months ago. They said I could either sign a release agreement or have my agent submit the screenplay on my behalf. I’m not currently represented as a writer, but I am represented as a crew person, so I had my BTL agent submit the script for me. I was wondering if it would be appropriate to follow up with the producer directly as a check-in, or if I should leave all communication”

BUT, before it did there was a real conversation happening with a bunch of great comments and incoming DMs that got my wheels spinning for the rest of the week. Also, important to mention, last time a couple people thought the post was in preparation for me launching a product to sell to writers. Let me be clear, I'm not. I don't have a product to sell you. Would I love to help solve this decades-old problem and help build or br”
“If you could change something in the process with getting your script produced, what would it be? Studies shows that less than 3% of all high quality scripts every years get in to production, can that be changed? submitted by /u/Left_Possible_8810 [link] [comments]”
“Apologies for the title gore. Like many I recently read about the near 7-figure unpackaged spec sale from two unknown writers. As an amateur, I've always known things like this were exceptionally rare, but the way some experienced pros talk about spec sales and this sale particularly, makes it seem comparable to winning the lottery. I find it quite disheartening in all honesty. Many of us (naively) hope we're writing something special and hope it'll sell. But again, that seems to be”

Also, does anyone have a copy? submitte”
