Small retailers are experiencing frustration with the increasing complexity and cost of using Shopify. They are finding themselves needing to integrate multiple apps and services, leading to unexpected expenses and limitations on essential features, particularly for businesses operating internationally. This creates a feeling of being nickel-and-dimed and hinders growth.

“I opened my shoppify storefront today to edit some of my products and had a notificaction that the prodigi app will be removed from shoppify on October 26, 2026. I'm very confused as I haven't seen this announced anywhere else, I can't find anything about it on the prodigi website either. Does this mean I now have to manually add all the products separately in the prodigi dashboard sales channel? If anyone has any information, maybe an prodigi employee who knows more can elaborate on”
“Test checkout on mobile and desktop then save screenshots of any errors for support. If it's affecting multiple brands, check Shopify's status updates first. [re: Shopify issues]”
“It was a checkout redirect. The code in my case was inside the swathe king app [re: Shopify issues]”
“Agreed. I just discovered that J and K no longer scroll up and down the Products list when you're in a Product page. [re: 'Slopify'.]”
“I've had Shopify for over 10 years and never remember adding tags with commas. However, there's now a very tiny + icon you have to hit to open the typing field. That's the big problem, and I think you may have missed that. Once you hit the + you can begin typing a tag and it will show it below, so you can select it. If you have hundreds of tags like I do, it helps. Hiding the typing field behind a tiny icon is exactly what this thread is about., though. Like, why hide a feature we us”
“If multiple stores are seeing checkout failures at the same time, I'd be checking the platform status page before touching anything in the theme. Also worth testing a real checkout on mobile and desktop to see exactly where it fails, because payment errors and shipping rate errors can look like the same problem to customers. I'd grab screenshots, timestamps and any error messages for support. If you're still running paid traffic, I'd seriously consider pausing it until customers”
“They’re just making their own UX so bad and full of friction that more apps are needed for running a store. To Slopify this makes sense since they get a big cut of all app charges. They just closed down their billing api and heymantle and made it mandatory to use their new hosted app pricing which makes them control even more of this. Instead of hiring amazing UX designers they focus on UI designers making everything look clean. Good interfaces make use of keyboard shortcuts, fewer clicks and cl”

“classic shopify move, keeping the status page pristine while everything burns. had a client's store showing orders delivered that were still sitting in the warehouse, caused a whole mess with customer service at least plus stores seem to be skating by, must be nice [re: Shopify Shipping Statuses Not Refreshing, Not noted on Status Page]”

“Did you try asking Shopify's AI agent Sidekick to do it? Just curious. [re: App alternatives? Loss of functionality due to AI Vibe coding BS.]”
“Dude shopify shippin native label printing in the admin is restricted by store location, and Sweden isn't on the supported list yet. ik the blog article mentions the EU because native carrier integrations (like DPD, DHL Express, and Chronopost) are available for stores based in France, Italy, and Spain (plus the UK). If your store address in Settings > General is set to Sweden, the label printing feature simply won't appear. [re: Shopify shipping in Europe?]”
“[Shopify] ★★ 2/5 (v11.2641.5) — The listing “suggested” fields that populate in a purple colored text don’t remember what I’ve been selecting for months. It forgets the listing category and category metafields every week. Great feature if it actually worked. Update: still doesn’t auto populate fields properly, should work on app and desktop site but does not. Update: after new update and new desktop interface, still doesn’t remember your everyday selections lol. What a joke. Update: after a”
“I thought I was the only one until I hopped in this subreddit. Shopify has turned into fucking dog shit. It used to be the best, most stable app and customer service that couldn't be touched. All of that has gone out the window. Shopify and Meta Advertising have been destroyed by AI slop that none of the users wanted or needed. [re: 'Slopify'.]”
“Amazing advice, although ESR couldn’t even fire up on my elderly MacBook as well. I’m afraid all of the newer Shopify updates has finally phased my macbook out of existence making it unusable now. Rode this laptop till the end of its use sadly. It’s 100% time for me to upgrade my friend 👌🏽 [re: Shopify New Browser Requirement* Unable to access store: 10/15]”
“[PayPal] ★ 1/5 (v10.5.2) — They removed manual package tracking and the new UI SUCKS! Everything is an add and it’s pretty unusable. Also, they package tracking only exists in settings and activity and you can only link your Gmail so if you use another email for tracking, good luck! Whoever designed this did the worst job possible.”
“Same 😭 I’ve been using an old Mac out of nostalgia purposes for a long time. Just got the notice today. [re: Shopify New Browser Requirement* Unable to access store: 10/15]”
“Numeral is a nightmare right now. They are not calculating taxes from Shopify correctly and customer support barely exists. I've been emailing about the issue for over a month and it takes them weeks to get a non-answer back. [re: welp, we just lost automated tax filings]”
“May be this could be the reason? https://romanzipp.com/blog/shopify-hit-with-phishing-attack [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”

“Greeting fellow store owners, I’m wondering if anyone else woke up today to find themselves completely unable to log into their Shopify desktop admin. I’ve been running my stores perfectly fine for over 6 years years on a 2010 MacBook running macOS 10.13 High Sierra. I was literally on my desktop dashboard just a few days ago with no issues. But today, I suddenly can't get in at all. When I try to load the login page, it completely fails, throws a browser error code, (TypeError: Promise.with”
“Has anyone seen conversion tracking become basically non existent when using either FB ads direct to a product, collection or adv+ carousel to a shopify e-commerce site? We use utm and have had success for years tracking sources. But lately it says direct or even Shop like the shop app from Shopify when I can see it was attributed to email click or a comment from them on an ad. I don't know what else to try because event manager is showing correctly but I cannot attribute anything. sub”
“Using an environmentally damaging product as a workaround to a crappy UI is definitely not a good solution. In addition, using Claude with Shopify can potentially give Claude all your sales data, including your internal pricing, manufacturers and suppliers and customer data. The vulnerabilities of LLMs are still unknown and they often produce inaccurate or incorrect information. [re: 'Slopify'.]”
“The thing I hate the most is item count now only apperaing on the bottom of the order page. There is literally no reason to not have it at the top as well and it gets crazy annoying when fulfilling orders with a lot of items. I'm currently working on my own admin interface since there is literally NO customization possible in Shopify. [re: 'Slopify'.]”
“I did 1 thing, let customer key in their stats and my shopify store can highlight the size they should be buying base on design. Return went from 0.5% to 0.1%? The number is not large enough as a good sample though. [re: What did you try to reduce returns on apparel, and what actually moved the number?]”
“I think what's tripping you up is the "Add products" picker. That always lists your whole catalog with the profile's products checked, so you end up scrolling. On the custom profile page itself (Settings → Shipping and delivery → click the profile), the Products section above the zones should show only the products in that profile, and you can click into it from there. If you want a filterable list you can reuse, I'd give those products a tag like "ship-profile-heavy&q”

“What’s your site? Let us run through it. What changes have you made recently? [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“I have a small app that calls the Global Catalog REST API for product search. Shopify's changelog says it stops serving traffic on November 2 and to move to Global Catalog MCP. For anyone who has already switched: did you hit gaps in filtering or pagination compared to the REST endpoint? And is there any guidance on rate limits for the MCP server when you're calling it from a backend instead of an agent? I can't find numbers in the docs. Any gotchas from the move would help. su”
“shopify's own form already runs hcaptcha, which is why swapping apps didn't do much. most of that spam is real people pitching seo and store redesigns, so no captcha stops them. a zoho filter that sends anything with seo, redesign or "boost your sales" to a folder cleaned up most of ours [re: Better contact form that actually works?]”
“Have tried numerous times on different cards to buy stuff. Even setup my bank account and I just get an error message every single time saying “hmm something went wrong”. submitted by /u/Advanced_Version6667 [link] [comments]”
“I have my domain on Shopify because I dropped my hosting service when i moved over from WP. So i know have Zoho set up as user@mydomain but I haven’t put a contact fork back in place that points to the email yet. [re: Better contact form that actually works?]”

“Worth noting the rep's test likely ran through the same checkout extensions and apps, so it doesn't fully rule out what you're already checking for. Worth also glancing at status.shopify.com in parallel, since a platform-side incident would show up there before Stripe tells anyone anything. [re: Shopify Payments fully verified under my US identity, but ALL checkouts instantly fail ("processing_error"). Even test mode fails.]”
“The key question is whether your actual Shopify orders dropped by 90%, or just the conversions reported in GA4 or Meta. Since you mentioned the old custom scripts were removed, I'd check purchase tracking first. If actual orders are down too, I'd compare checkout completion rates and test payments and shipping. The thank-you page comes after payment, so changes there shouldn't normally stop orders. Have you compared the actual order numbers before and after the update? [re: Shopify c”
“You anyway need plus to have custom checkout. Not sure what Shopify could have changed other than that? [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“Shopify does change a lot of things often BUT the checkout change did have a deadline that was relayed to non-Plus store owners several times before the 26th August deadline. Is it more of a GA reporting issue than an actual sales volume issue? E.g. if you ran a Shopify report for the year to date, do you see a drop in actual order volume, or is GA saying conversion has sunk, for example? If you had Custom scripts before that had GA, Facebook etc pixels firing, these would need to have been migr”

“Check if your Facebook/Google pixels still fire on the order status page through Shopify's Web Pixels (Customer Events) setup. The old additional scripts box won't report purchases anymore. [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“Dude they’ve been pushing people to move to checkout extensibility for literal years now. [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“that's a guess because nothing other been changed. Nothing, except forced checkout page update by shopify removing custom scripts. That's the simplest thing to check if nothing else changed inside the web as a scientific approach to a problem, correct? Outside things are a guess about midterms effect, that's a guess. Any other ideas? [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“Thank you for asking the actual question here. [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“Yes, it was the scripts being deprecated and removed. Everyone did have that changed forced on them but migrated to the new system or were not using the feature that was removed. [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“it was forced general shopify chekout change at the end of august. thought everybody had this change forced? [re: Shopify changed my checkout, and sales dropped by 90% — has anyone experienced this?]”
“Shopify recently changed my checkout page, and the changes were forced on my store without me asking for them. Everything was working normally before, but since the change, my sales have dropped by around 90%. Has anyone else experienced something similar after Shopify's checkout updates? I'm trying to understand what could have gone wrong. Could it be a checkout UX issue, payment failures, conversion tracking, or something else? I'm seriously considering moving to WordPress/WooComme”
Good thing we’re leaving Shopify :) [re: WHO APPROVED THIS AND WHY??]
[Shopify] ★ 1/5 (v10.2640.0) — Everything costs more money.
“Sorry you're dealing with this. A few tips to help this move faster. Figure out where the clone is hosted first. Shopify can only take down stores on its own platform. If the clone isn't on Shopify (no Shop Pay is probably a hint), your only leverage is the host and registrar. A WHOIS and DNS lookup will show who runs the nameservers and where it resolves. Report to Shopify for trademark or copyright infringement, not just "fraud." Use their report a merchant form and pick Trad”
“I’m not sure, but when I reported it to Shopify, they immediately knew it was Advanced Wishlist and told me to uninstall it. In my opinion, breaches like these should require the app developers to inform all stores with the app installed. Depending on the permissions, some sensitive customer data may also have been leaked. The Hulk App support team didn’t even tell me what happened, just that it has been fixed and that it won’t happen again. [re: Shopify shops with "HulkApps" installed could be”

“I use their discount builder app so emailed them to ask and they said Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’re aware of the issue related to our Hulk Product Options app and are looking into it. Please rest assured that our Hulk Discount apps are not affected by this issue. We appreciate you reaching out and giving us the opportunity to clarify this. [re: Shopify shops with "HulkApps" installed could be phishing customers (ongoing)]”
