Small law firms are finding it difficult to find effective and affordable marketing services. They're experiencing frustration with agencies that demand high upfront costs or deliver little value, and are questioning the overall worth of digital marketing efforts given their own limited expertise. This leads to wasted money and a lack of client acquisition.

“Lately social media marketing campaigns not driving much attention, tried UGC campaigns as well. Numbers looks fine but I don’t feel it really bringing customers. My friend (also runs similar business in another city) suggested me to go on IRL advertising specially on campuses which…”
“Somewhat correct. The execution in email marketing is being eaten, just like in every single white-collar profession. That said, there are three strong reasons to still hire an agency: The difference between good and on-brand is still something that takes time, effort, and consideration. For many clients, email is more than just sending 20 campaigns a month. It's knowing where the flows need to be updated and what angles we should be running in the pop-up deliverability. Troubleshooting when”
“Hey all- I'm opening a clinic, expected to be completed next year. I'm tryin to line up a reputable marketing company. Would love to hear what marketing company you used? What were regrets and things you learned as you interviewed with different marketing companies? Also cost too please. I read some do their own marketing. No idea how... No soliciting please. Only want to hear from fellow dental professionals, no need to flood my DMs, I don't accept any. Thanks. submitted by &#”
“Go through online publications to identify backlinks and ads they run for local businesses, ring those people who it may surprise you or not are overpaying paying as much as £1k a month for email, basic non-e-commerce website and hosting and sold ads on publications and get backlinks. Get them a mini-pc and monitor off of Amazon, setup office 365 email, transfer domain and create a new shopify store that will pay for itself, setup bookmarks and screen zoom for accessibility, help them build out”
“Makes sense. On your side then, what happens when an agency on Pro passes 15 clients? [re: I priced 7 PPC reporting tools at 10 clients. Spreadsheet inside.]”

“Thanks Good questions. A little more background: At its peak, this was grossing $25–40K/month seasonally, with approximately 20 clients, some utilizing multiple lead channels. Margins were very healthy because everything was organic. No PPC. I own the websites and have the phone systems, tracking, billing, and infrastructure already in place. Leads are exclusive, which commands better pricing, and I've maintained some of these client relationships for years. Several still want considerably m”

“Thanks for these useful insights. Right now I want to work with them and build more experience. Also do you think digital/web marketing agenices might be effective to reach out to as a software backend engineer or web dev/ software dev agencies? [re: do startups founders use web dev / software agencies for building their product, especially if the app or software is not what the startup do? for example does a startup of AI agent use an agency for building their mobile app? “This is why I stopped trusting agencies entirely. half of them are just reselling templates and pocketing the difference. I went with LocalBiz for my service pages and rank tracking, at least I can see exactly whats happening without playing detective [re: Business Owners: STAY AWAY from Hibu Marketing. Consider this your warning.]”
“we paid an agency retainer for about 6 months and couldn't tie a single sale to it, so now the only marketing we pay for is our email platform and ads we run ourselves. email is the best money we spend by a mile since it goes to people who already bought from us once. [re: Small business owners: Do you pay for digital marketing services?]”

“This whole post is sus, they don’t make that much money to hire someone at that price point, their sales haven’t increased, they’re advertising things OP doesn’t offer and they’re like “eh, not too worried” [re: Would you cancel a marketing contract after their blog posts promised customers a warranty I don't offer?]”

“A major red flag for me would be a client spending their last 500-1000 the business has on a last ditch marketing campaign. If that business fails, it’ll 100 percent be on the people who spent their last 500-100 on a marketing campaign. But, they will blame the person who made that marketing campaign. If the business suddenly succeeds, which is really rare, it will be “a miracle,” and the marketing campaign will be disregarded by the client who is so short sighted. I’d much rather work for the c”
“It's certainly a hard slog finding a reputable Agency that's for sure SEO dues take time it's more like a marathon than a sprint unfortunately [re: My previous SEO agency haven’t done much work and looking for new trustworthy SEO agency in Melbourne. Please help to find out]”
“$22k a month is wild, are you niching down into a specific industry or just taking whatever comes in”
“LinkedIn and phone calls followed by in-person meetings. Or do a road show and knock at the doors.”
“Find niche, connect with decision makers on LinkedIn, keep the target lower so you don’t lose hopes. All the best.”
“It depends, what JDs are you going to assign your marketer, if you're talking about posting on Instagram consistently that you don't need a marketer for. A marketer or marketing agencies job is to bring help you with your lead generation and overall PR. I'll try to answer your questions 1 by 1. What type of content/posts actually brought you customers? Anything that's answer the questions of your prospects for instance different between 2 year and 5 year ceramic coating and which”

“As in lead generation? It can work but there are a lot of scammers out there. Just be careful I guess - ask for testimonials/prior results.”
“First of all, sorry for the delay in my responses. I had some paper deadlines to catch. Here are my thoughts and descriptive analyses. Sorry if its too long, these are my thoughts and I didnt polish it with AI. In this review, I share mostly my thoughts, unless I explicitly say that X or Y are from Z or W literature/source. General initial thoughts: Your descriptions were hard to understand. your website was easier to understand and straightforward. I like the website. I read its texts that it s”
“It works. took me 2 years to make it profitable. Referral/lead and sales funnel model usually works.”
“Why won't people just try a local chamber of commerce first? CoC membership fees are usually negligible, there are nice local events, and CoCs often contribute to the local community, too.”
“Bring one on when you have a proven offer and you know your numbers, not before. An agency amplifies a message that already converts. If your service is still being figured out, they will burn your budget testing what you could have tested yourself with ten customer conversations. The test I would use: can you describe exactly who buys, why they buy, and what it costs you to land one. If yes, an agency can scale that. If not, keep it DIY until you can.”
“i’d test it, but i wouldn’t pay a big upfront fee. people in here seem pretty split. some are getting 10x+ ROI from paid leads, while others say referral groups worked way better. one person said they typically convert around 30% of leads that actually fit their criteria. i’d ask the company for actual numbers on lead → appointment → client before spending anything. and ideally pay for qualified appointments, not just a spreadsheet of names.”
“All that anyone can do is provide leads. Its your job to convert them into Clients. The best case i had was paying for access to a platform where leads chose three partners they wanted offer from, as they are more invested in the process but you stil have to call them fast and you ahd to convert them. Typically i will Convert a lead if they fit our criteria 30% of the time. But I will Pay more per lead for good leads that fit our profile better because the revenue is much Higher.”
“I have paid for leads since the Beginning in different formats. Google Ads, online platforms, dedicated lead generation. Our usualy strenth is that loyalty is fairly high. If you land a Client and work well. They can stay with you for years. For me, Google Ads had a roi of 10 - 15x. Lead generation was like 10x. Have money to experiment. Always. Take the experiment as a test case. If it works, it does. If not you you are now wiser.”
“LinkedIn Advertising lead generation will give you best results for b2b marketing”
“Tried lead-gen services early on and got mostly tire-kickers who never converted. Referrals and local networking brought better clients for free. If you pay, ask for pay-per-signed-client only”
“You don't actually need a full enterprise stack, a warmed up burner domain with simple follow up automation will help. Keep your volumes low and start with 30-50 targeted prospects then look at the reply rates you'll be able to know if the pitching is well or not, you can even use dripify for light LinkedIn sequences when testing.”
“However if set up well does it work? We have dedicated teams to manage the platform”
“Absolutely. We run a creative agency. Almost always, they come with a specific need, like logo/identity work or website development. Once they experience the agency, they generally stay for content development, blog writing, or other support as their ideas shift and expand. This has been really helpful to watch. We've been able to build our offering around what clients are telling us they want. Not everything of course, but the areas that fit in our wheelhouse.”
“I think this post is allowed. I'm curious what a marketing person costs, ideally in central (Tampa) Florida but remote in the USA might work ? hourly? results driven ? I'm still maintaining a day job so I could possibly afford to hire someone to handle instagram / facebook / tik tok if i have to. Obviously not looking for a massive agency; more along the lines of freelance type work. ??? (prepared for DM to blow up lol) submitted by /u/czshill [link] [comments]”
“Referrals beat everything cost wise but people treat it passive, like good work just generates them. It doesnt, you gotta actually ask the specific people who sent you one before, most never think to do it twice unless asked GBP matters less for ranking, more for how fast you reply once someone messages through it. Watched a guy loose jobs for weeks before he realized people were comparing him to 2 other tabs open at the same time. What's your reply time looking like right now, actually chec”
“Track every source to a paid job. CPC by itself tells you basically nothing if one $20 click turns into a 5k service call”
“I find my expertise in my niche is a selling point for me with clients, as opposed to either side worrying about a conflict of interest. Your bound to some client confidentiality, but having that industry specific in depth knowledge has been a catalyst for my growth!”
“yeah the generic "we book meetings for any b2b company" agencies are everywhere, no argument there. but most of them are spamming the same templates and clients churn after 2 months because results suck. if you go deep on one niche and actually know their buyers, you're competing with way fewer people. saturated market doesn't mean no room, it means you can't be the 500th generic one.”
the concept makes sense, especially for smaller compaigns
“I have a client from USA. She has a team who negotiates to bring down the medical bill. She has done it for many clients, and now she decided to run ads, so she hired me. We ran ads and got leads, but most of them leave on the checkout page. My friends said it's an offer issue. Since many of you here have worked or dealed medical bill-related stuff, I want your suggestions on how i can improve our offer so that we can help those who are dealing with huge medical bills in USA. “So much has happened in last one year that I feel I don't know what's required and what's good to have anymore. I suppose, with many of experts here, I would be able to find some proper guidelines? submitted by /u/Only_Standard_8354 [link] [comments]”
“Before replacing the agency, audit the full path from ad click to paid treatment. For a cosmetology business, platform ROAS is often misleading because the real conversion happens after a lead, call or consultation. Ask the current agency for the account change history, search-term report, campaign-level spend and leads, landing-page conversion rate, qualified-lead rate, booked consultations, show rate and revenue from completed treatments. Make sure offline outcomes are being sent back to Googl”
