“Took a really tight U-turn in a gravel lot and damaged my side fairing. I just started at this company and every damn week I've had issues with this damn truck. This time it's my fault though, all of the other shit was things I couldn't control. I decided to go back regional 2 months and its been the worst 2 months ever. I'll be back in a day cab very soon. I've tried to stay as positive as possible but I've had enough!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 2 and half years of a clean record a”

“I was talking to another driver who said that he left his truck in a friend's yard for his reset and when he returned he saw a bug on the dash. And eventually it became BUGS and he couldn't get rid of them no matter what. He said he even bug-bombed the mfer and had to clean up the interior and get the air filter changed ... and one still managed to make it, somehow. ITS POSSIBLE that he's just a nasty-ass who doesn't clean his equipment - but I do know another trucker who got bug”

“The driver obviously didn’t swing his trailer wide enough, and now my truck is completely ruined. He told me he’s been driving since 2011 and has never had an accident yeah, okay. 😒 You don’t make a mistake like this with something you’re taught on the first day of CDL school. Now I’m stuck in a hotel on the other side of the country, dealing with the aftermath of an accident that happened in his own hometown . Meanwhile, I’m the one who’s stranded on the opposite side of the country trying to”

“Around 5:30AM I was walking back out to my truck and heard a loud bang. I thought to myself, damn, that sounded like a gunshot. I looked around and saw a bobtail slam on his brakes by the fuel island and thought he fucked up and kept it pushing. Got back to my truck, pre-tripped and hit the road. When I was leaving, I saw about 12 police cruisers with lights rolling blocking the Pilot entrance. Just wondering if anyone knows what happened or saw anything. It’s been eating me alive all day.”

“So this is about the four for fifth time in a 22 year career that I’ve lost the steer tire. Except for one. all of them had been on the right side. This is the first one I’ve lost on this truck. I just came out of the shop. so they’ve seen the tire. They should have seen the tire. I seen the tire. Looked like It was a damn good condition. Any way I decided to walk down the road. To see where the tire came off at. I think I’ve walked a mile. Feels like I’ve done over a mile on rims. I guess Kenwo”

“This happened to my coworker of mine earlier this week when leaving the ferry to Finland. The ramp was crooked and he didn't think to raise the rear end of his tractor unit and none of the ship's crew thought anything was wrong until it was too late. Had the fire crew and all rush to his aid too and the ferry company admitted it was their fault and will cover this thankfully. submitted by /u/Sad_Thought_4642 [link] [comments]”

“Whatever you do - do NOT buy your truck from Flamez Concession in Cambridge. This was our first mistake. Second mistake? Make sure you have a back up water pump always on hand. RV water pumps suck and they can and will randomly break. Also - invest in a good quality generator (Honda Quiet). It will be a lot of money upfront but saves you from a cheap quality generator crapping out mid-service (speaking from experience). We’ve been through a lot but are doing amazing business wise so the learning”

“Exactly this! The GM’s at both shops will get it worked out. Keep in mind, CC is just like McDonalds…you can go to one location and get a crappy BigMac & poor service, yet the one across town is amazing! It’s all about the staff & management at each individual location. If you are not happy, don’t accept it plain & simple. Also let the insurance know what is going on too as they can assist with this as well. One more thing. That looks like a RAV4, if they used aftermarket parts as th”

“I parked at a shipper next to a truck that was nosed in at kind of a weird angle, assumed maybe it was broken down or something, curtains weren't pulled or anything. “I see guys with damaged cab extenders/ fairing, sometimes the bumper may be missing a piece, some paint rubbing if from a getting to close to a barrier in a construction zone or whatever other thing you guys have seen on the road from a company truck that is definitely not suppose to be like that. What happens after you return it? Like whenever you leave for a new job. Does the company charge you for the damage if you caused it even if your w-2? “Why are there so many trucks out there with some kind of damage that you can tell was caused by another truck? Hell, or even damage you can tell was caused by the driver of that truck? You could argue well said driver is an idiot or an idiot hit him right? That would automatically imply an idiot can't do this job well therefore some level of skill is involved to not be hitting shit/causing damage out there eh? “I have a question for the seasoned dump truck drivers. I've been running an old dump truck this summer and I get conflicting advise on letting the gate slam after dumping a pile. Some guys say that its good for clearing material, others say it'll destroy the pins. I generally tend to be pretty gentle with trucks but I can't help but feel like the gate is slamming too hard. It also seems like the geometry of the gate swings it back harder when pulling away. What are your thoughts? &#3”

“Hi all, I have a fun one for everyone, how would you fix this? I have a 16-ft box truck and I backed into a thing. This is the drip edge above the rear door. It's about 12 ft up in the air if you're standing on the ground. Apart from borrowing an excavator to try to pull this flatter I don't really know if I have any option but to cut it off and weld on a new drip cap. What do you guys think? submitted by /u/Cocktail-Caravan [link] [comments]”

“Today I was backing up to a dock in a somewhat tight lot. I overestimated the space I had and hit a metal pole. It damaged the passenger side bumper. It was completely and entirely avoidable and absolutely my fault. I thought I had it, but I didn’t. I should’ve GOAL’d and taken my time instead of trying to be quicker. It’s minor cosmetic damage. The truck is completely fine and still drivable. There was no property damage or injuries involved. No police report or anything like that. Praise God t”
