“Hi everyone, I filed my joint I-751 in 2024, and my case is still pending. My spouse and I are considering an amicable divorce, but no divorce petition has been filed yet. I have a substantial amount of evidence showing our marriage was entered into in good faith, including joint tax returns, leases, insurance, shared household expenses, and years of living together. My immigration attorney’s approach is to wait until the divorce is finalized before notifying USCIS and requesting conversion to a”

“I became a conditional permanent resident in December 2021 and timely filed a joint I-751 in December 2023. My divorce was finalized shortly afterward. In February 2025, while the I-751 was still pending, I mailed USCIS the final divorce decree with a letter requesting that the petition be converted to a good-faith-marriage divorce waiver. I hadn’t realized that I needed to submit the decree separately, which explains the delay. My I-751 remains pending. I am now eligible to file the N-400 under”

“Hi all, I'm a conditional resident based on marriage to a US citizen. We were together for a little over a year before marrying. The marriage is now ending in divorce, and I'm preparing an I-751 with a divorce waiver. I've received conflicting advice from attorneys about filing timing, so I'd appreciate feedback from people who've been through this. My situation (general): -Roughly 3 years of marriage, about 1 to 1.5 years into the conditional period -The divorce is expected”

“Hi! Could anyone share their recent N400 timeline for Los Angeles County? I filed my N400 in August 2025 with my I751 (filed in August 2024) still pending. USCIS currently shows a processing time of 10.5 months for LA County, but I’m already well past that and still haven’t received an interview notice. AP expires in summer 2027. Our current plan is to have she returning Dec–Jan (school break), back abroad for spring term, returns in summer. “My green card is set to expire end of October. I hired a lawyer I’ve used before for the removal of conditions process. He filed my I-751 around early September (9/11), but no receipt notice has come yet. USCIS has already withdrawn the fee from my account and as I understand, that means USCIS has accepted the petition? Are I-751 receipt notices being slow to arrive right now? My lawyer said that USCIS has 30 days to produce the notice and if not he can raise an inquiry? I am just worried my GC”

“My 10-year green card expired in 2022 and is also cracked and in rough shape. I filed my N-400 and went to biometrics. They noticed the card's condition and accepted my New York State ID as a secondary ID, so that was fine. My interview is coming up. A few months after filing the N-400, we got divorced, so I was no longer eligible under the 3-year marriage rule. In May 2026, USCIS scheduled a combined I-751/N-400 interview in Texas. “Something I think is easy to misunderstand about the I-751 is that it's not simply a request for a new green card. If you received conditional permanent residence through marriage, the I-751 is a petition to remove the conditions on your permanent residence and move from conditional residence to regular permanent residence. Because of that, I think it's important to look at the I-751 in the context of the whole immigration history, rather than treating it as a completely new application.”

“I’m looking for experiences from people who filed Form I-751 with a divorce waiver. I received my conditional green card a year ago, and unfortunately my husband and I are now separating because of his alcohol abuse and his unwillingness to seek help. For those who went through this process: ● What evidence did you submit? ● Did you have an interview? ● Did USCIS ask for additional evidence? ● Did you include any statement or letter from your ex-spouse? I think I have a solid new evidence packag”

“i just got approved and received my card which is conditional but since the approval date was after 2 years i believe i was eligible for the 10 year green card. can or should i file I-90 to fix it? USCIS operator suggested that but i don’t want to send my actual card as it may delay and i need it for travel/work. case was K-1 based marriage AOS. thanks for sharing your experiences. submitted by /u/Mysterious_Study_506 [link] [comments]”

“My i-751 is coming up for renewal and my husband has been having affairs and even married a second wife in a different country who has also now split up with him. He knows i-751 is coming up and is asking me to file for divorce because he doesn't want to file for divorce himself and doesn't want to pay. I have proof of his infidelity, photos and videos of him with other women. How do i proceed? submitted by /u/Jaiquittemonpays [link] [comments]”

“Hi all, my notice was sent on june 18, 2026 however I have not received it. My green card is expiring soon and I am stressed. I reached out and they told me to email the lockbox email only to get an automatic reply that my specific form is not routed through lockbox. What can I do? submitted by /u/Special-Art-3319 [link] [comments]”
