“Hi everyone, I (27F) and my husband (27M) are a bit skeptical of our final post-wedding event charge and want to see if anyone has had a similar experience, if this sounds off to anyone else, or if it sounds fine and we should just pay the invoice and be done with it. For some…”
“For my July wedding, my fiance is gonna wear a black tuxedo. My bridesmaids are wearing light blue. Here are my options for groomsmen, please keep my fiance's black tux in mind as I want it to look well together: Black Tux light blue bow ties Gray tuxedos light blue bow ties…”
“got married yesterday and our cake looked so different compared to the photo we had sent. we requested the print to be icing, small, and below center so we could add our toppers. we got none of those requests :(( should we reach out for a partial refund?”
Several posts highlight issues with wedding vendors, including The Black Tux failing to provide return labels and bridesmaids' dresses needing significant alterations due to weight loss from medication. Additionally, there are concerns about plus-one policies and the overall stress of planning a wedding.

“Has anyone contracted The Wedding Elites for their wedding? Are they legit? They have cheap package deals, which I will attach a SS. Thank you! submitted by /u/ShoeEnvironmental371 [link] [comments]”

“Hello all! I have already booked with Original Weddings in Colorado, but have recently been looking into their reviews and have been really freaking myself out. The reviews seem to be either very high or very low with few in between. Many negative reviews state that their pricing was unclear or shady— so far, that hasn’t been my experience, so I’m not worried there— however, some of the photo-related reviews also seem very hit or miss, especially in other states. I just don’t want to gamble on $”
“I'm doing a destination wedding and was planning on paying a visit for makeup/hair trial a few months before the wedding. But the makeup artist happens to have vacation planned that week so I'll need to figure out a different time to go. I could try to fit it in a different time but now I'm leaning towards just doing the trial the week of the wedding (specifically 3 days before). Has anyone done this before and how was the experience? Is it too tight of a timeline? Is it even worth i”
“i’m planning a wedding from a different state and trying to use mainly local vendors. how important is doing a makeup trial prior to the wedding? with our work schedule we can only do very occasional weekend trips, and likely wouldn’t be able to do a weekday trip to schedule the trial :/. Even if they can accommodate a weekend trial, we could try to make it work, but it would be difficult to squeeze in a weekend trip prior to the wedding. at baseline i wear no makeup to work, nor at home, but i”
“So put wedding is a month out and we booked peony luxe over a year ago, we’ve completely paid but now I’ve found a lot of bad reviews and posts about them. I really want to make sure I actually get my photos, any advice? Book a second photographer and let Peony’s show up anyways since they don’t offer refunds? My fiancé isn’t too happy and doesn’t want to cancel but I’m not sure of how exactly to go about the situation. submitted by /u/Balitography [link] [comments]”

For some context, we had a 235 person wedding at a nice mid-range wedding venue in the midwest - everything was relatively affordable as far as weddings go. We pre-purchased alcohol based on how much we estimated to go through, pai”
“Hello everyone! I’m not sure if this is the place to write this but I’m just looking for some opinions on what happened to me yesterday. I was in a wedding and paid $100 for hair and make up which I know is pretty cheap. Anyway there were 8 people getting their make up and hair done. The artist was working on hair for four girls for about 4 hours and then 12 o’clock came around and we are still needed make up and my hair and another girls hair had not been done (the wedding started at 1) the mak”
“Hey everyone! I’m interested in hiring an artist for my reception and am ready to sign the contract. However, since I hear so many horror stories of people cancelling on brides last minute or ghosting them, I asked if for whatever reason he had to cancel last minute I would get a full refund. He said no because the initial retainer is only meant to hold the date. Is this a common practice, or is he being sus. Thank you for any advice! submitted by /u/Icy_Book6591 [link] [commen”
“Well, I jinxed it and said everything was super smooth because with our wedding on August 29 (but leaving town on August 26 as it is out of town), one of the grooms men suits didn't go into production because the people at the store (Indochino) forgot to put his order in. So the groom and the other grooms man have their suits except one guy. We were wondering what the hell was taking so long to call and have them say it never went to production and they made a mistake. It is absolutely impos”
“My wedding is in 4 weeks and it’s destination (we kind of had to do this to accommodate visa-free travel for everyone). We’re paying for hotel accommodations for mostly everyone which is about $1,000 per room and doing a premium food a beverage package which is about $500 per person. I have a friend who rsvped yes to himself and a plus one, but when we were doing the seating chart we noticed he didn’t provide a name for the +1 so I reached out for him to confirm the name. He responded saying he”
“Oops: - My bustle broke 5 minutes in, so I had to carry my train all night - We handed our decor to our coordinator, so we had limited control in where everything went. One table had the wrong tablecloth and our beautiful cake tablecloth never got used, they used our bright red Target buckets used to transport greenery as vases/decor lol, which was a bit unsightly, and some of our decor didn’t make it to where we had asked, like our large floral arrangements meant for the base of the sweetheart”
“I have an October wedding. I booked my HMUA for 6 makeup applications and 5 hairstyles back in March. We discussed her trial price and told me it was $150 for hair and $150 for a makeup trial. I also can only do it on a weekday which means I’ll have to take work off (understandable since weekends are obviously the busy days). And I have to travel pretty far out to get it done at her studio. I reached out a month ago trying to book my trial and she responded a week later discussing a date with me”
“This is a very minor question, but I'm just wondering what others think I should do. I found and said "yes" to my dress today (yay!) It was my 4th appointment so I'm very confident that is the one for me. I have one more appointment booked in for next week. I'm not sure whether to cancel it or not. On one hand I have really enjoyed the process of dress shopping and when I booked this last appointment my attitude was "even if I've found my dress it will still be fun”
“Looking for real people who used it and how it went. Possibly share photos with the class too? I’ve seen a post or two on Reddit who have commenters saying they booked with them, but idk if they’re bots or paid advertising. I already checked Trust Pilot reviews, wasn’t convinced at all. “Hi! I'm looking to see if anyone has any ideas about online shops or artists who may do custom embroidery? I want to send in my Fiance's suit and get floral embroidery to match my dress. Attached images are the inspiration. submitted by /u/Worried-wilts [link] [comments]”

“I'm just starting to look into hair and makeup and I'm confused what's normal/what to ask for when reaching out. I've seen wildly varying takes on this sub. Half the posts say that booking without a trial is a scam and you NEED to do a trial first, and the other half say it's disrespectful to ask for a trial first and you should just trust them... which is crazy to me lol Can anyone who's already been through the process weigh in on what HMUAs' actual expectations wer”
“My buddy just got married and I was a groomsman in the wedding. He picked out a tux set up with The Black Tux and we all went and got our measurements. Tux came on time, wasn’t special but included all the bits and bobs and all is well until I went to return it. The shipping label that came from the company to return it with the original package wasn’t showing up in the FedEx system when I took it to the FedEx store. The employee said they weren’t sure what was going on with it, they just said t”
“When Lauren Gale bought her wedding dress in February last year, it was ordered in a size 24. By the time she walked down the aisle eight months later, she was a size 10. The 34-year-old had started taking Mounjaro a few weeks after choosing her gown. At the time she wore a high-street size 16 to 18, but bridal sizing runs small, meaning her made-to-order dress had to be bought several sizes larger. By her final fitting before her October wedding, Gale had lost five stone — and the dress she had”
