“Like the title says. We got engaged this time last year and planned on getting married early 2027. So far I have been the one who has picked the photographer, venue, church,DJ, photobooth, wedding day and food. All I have asked is for the color theme and decorations and we are…”
“Gearing up for a fall 2028 wedding. We’ve looked at 5 venues so far, and only one has given us that “wow” factor. It is a dream venue: the perfect size, historical significance, all the amenities we’d need. The only problem is that the person who’d be coordinating on the venue…”
“Does anyone else feel like getting married within a year of engagement is a little rushed/hectic? My fiancé just proposed last week and obviously we expected everyone to start immediately asking “when’s the wedding?!”, but I didn’t realize how many other things everyone expects…”

“Hi all, My fiancé and I are getting married in June and we are currently making our registry. We have been together 4 years and have lived together for the past 2.5 years. We have a lot of things already (due to the combination of…”
“Hi, our wedding isn't until 11 months from now, and we have been engaged for over 9 months. I wanted a long engagement because I was picky about my venue and my fiance and I are paying for the entire thing ourselves so we need to save up. I'm also a full time graduate student, full time working, and my fiance is constantly on deployments. So my hands are full and I haven't had time to send out my save the dates (I promise they are written out and stamped). But for the past 3 months e”
“Hey all, I’m one week before getting married in my dream venue abroad with the love of my life and close friends and family. This all sounds like a dream but between the last couple of things to pay while I feel we’ve spent so much already, the last minute cancellations, the fall outs of some loved ones and the non stop planning I am so so tired. I have one week to go and I am at absolutely zero energy. I literally feel like my body doesn’t want to continue and I have tried to stay positive and”
“Hi everyone! I am just wondering if anyone has found it more beneficial to just elope and travel vs. spending $40k on a wedding? I am still on the fence. Not sure if anyone here has, lol! For context, I am 25, living on Long Island (NY). I have always wanted a simple wedding, not a big, extravagant one. I just want to celebrate my fiancé and me with close friends and family, and wear a pretty dress. I still want the day, but sometimes I don’t know how I can justify spending $30-40k just for one”
“Looking to get married 2027-2028. Had an idea to get married at my parents Quinta. But have no clue where to start to get someone to coordinate it. I live in Canada. Might just end up going with a venue sounds less stressful. Any advice or previous brides go through this. submitted by /u/th3-girl [link] [comments]”
“Hello everyone! I've just proposed to my girlfriend of six years. First thing first I have NO CLUE what goes into wedding planning, we already spoke somewhat about sharing the tasks between us but I can tell its gonna take a toll on her, also Ive seen friends struggle while planning their weddings, its really important for me to make this time for us as stress free as much as possible. I would absolutely appreciate for those of you who've been through the wedding planning experience if y”
“Like the title says. We got engaged this time last year and planned on getting married early 2027. So far I have been the one who has picked the photographer, venue, church,DJ, photobooth, wedding day and food. All I have asked is for the color theme and decorations and we are only 3 months out and she hasn't locked anything down with style or florists. When I ask all she says is that she has work to deal with and can't find the time. I work too but have been able to do everythi”
“Have been losing sleep over this tbh. We are high school sweethearts in our 30s and got engaged in August. We don’t want a long engagement and want to have it in April. This will be in Maryland. We have a venue with a soft hold on April 17 that will provide food, drinks, tables/chairs/etc. I would need to find photographer, music, decor, and florals. Should I be worried that vendors are all booked up by now for April? Trying to keep things simple and beautiful. We aren’t looking for a super trad”
“Hiii I just want your opinions because I’m sooo indecisive! Would be helpful if you’ve had your wedding already as well. I got engaged almost a year ago and initially I did want a wedding celebration, with my daughter and niece as flower girls and would love to see my family and friends dressed up, maybe a few bridesmaids with pretty dresses and pretty decorations and having a great party to end the night but we’ve gone through some difficult family things like deaths, loss of work etc this year”
“My fiancé and I have started planning our wedding, and so far, everything is incredibly overwhelming. We’ve both agreed we want a smaller wedding, which means we are being very selective with our guest list. We also don’t want to break the bank for one day. But so far, the cost of anything/everything is very discouraging and to top it all off, family has started putting in their two-cents. I’m starting to feel like I want to elope (it’s always been an option in the back of my mind). Not a true e”
“Hello all! Just recently got engaged and I would love to hear if anyone has found a great wedding planning app or planner? We’re planning on having the wedding out of state. We’re in Colorado right now but will have the wedding in upstate NY where my fiancées family is and where he’s from. So if you also have any advice or tips on how to plan a wedding from out of state I’d love to hear it! I’ve heard about Zola and The Knot but just curious if anyone on here has used them and would love to hear”
“Hi Everyone, 👋 My fiancé (32)and I (30) are getting married in north east England in April 2027. 👰♀️🤍 We're doing a first dance sweep stake, lawn games (weather permitting) and maybe the sly peg game. We want everyone to have loads of fun. If you have any fun or silly secret missions for our guests to partake in we would love to hear it. We'd love to have lots of things for our guests to do in the awkward/ not ding much parts of the wedding. Also if you have any other fun things we c”
“I got engaged in June, my wedding is in September 2027, and I just booked my last essential vendor. My venue is full service (chairs, tables, food, drinks, some flowers, and day of coordinator all included) so that helps with taking some planning off of my plate. I feel organized, I’ve researched everything and have extensive excel budget sheets to make sure everything is accounted for — but every single wedding at my venue has a full service planner. My mom is helping me work with our decor/lig”
“Hi everyone! I got engaged about 3 weeks ago now, so we're just starting to research potential venues. We looking for a venue in the OC area that would fit 75 people comfortably without feeling like too big of a space. Our budget is 30k, and I'm going for a garden party themed wedding. So far I've booked tours for the Muckenthaler Mansion in Fullerton, the Harper (Wedgewood), and University Club (also wedgewood). Any other recommendations? submitted by /u/Traditional_Fox1”
“Okay, so I feel like I need to give the backstory because our wedding plans have gone through about several versions at this point 😂 We originally had a traditional wedding planned for May 3, 2026 at a venue in Long Island, NY , with around 95–100 guests. We had the venue, vendors, dress, everything. Then we had A LOT going on in our personal lives , and ultimately decided to cancel/postpone rather than force ourselves through a huge wedding when life was already so complicated. The funny part”
“I’v been searching for a good backdrop for my engagement/ring exchange ceremony since 1 week but no luck 😭 Can you please drop your suggestions for decor? Also, my outfit is white and my fiancé is wearing navy blue. I’m scared if I pick a white backdrop I’ll camouflage against it. Here are two walls against which the ceremony can happen. “Question for other Jewish brides or anyone who’s had or handled a wedding chuppah! We have a quilted wall hanging we want to use as the fabric, but it is a 3’x3’ square, and the arbor frame that our rental company has available that we were going to use as the chuppah structure is 2.5’x6’. Since it is not quite the same size or shape, I’m not sure how to hang it and have it look nice. I don’t really mind it hanging down in the middle with the extra 5 inches of depth, but obviously it’s too short”
“Any other US weddings being impacted by this tropical storm/ potential hurricane right now? If so, how are you handling it with vendors and guests? Are you making any changes to your timeline, etc? Our wedding is in central Alabama. submitted by /u/Fearless-Plane3439 [link] [comments]”

“Got engaged last month! So far all we have done is the guest list - expecting like 100-120 in California (yay first step!). Now i know I need to start looking for planner / venues and curious to hear what people’s experience / opinions are about a few things related to planners / venue search: Did you get your planner or venue first? I had a friend tell me her planner helped a lot with venue search / negotiations, while a lot of others have told me venue is the most important thing first… How di”
“My boyfriend proposed last weekend, and he’s now my fiancé! I was really surprised, I didn’t even know he’d bought a ring, but we are super happy. I am a late 30s bride, this will be my second marriage but my first wedding! So I am looking for some advice. Sorry I am long winded! My fiancé and I have talked briefly about our plans. I just want my best friend and her +1 to come; he is close to his parents and maternal grandparents, so they’ll be invited, for a total of 6 guests. I plan on having”
“This is my Second time engaged, second time getting married. My first wedding, I planned in a month and was happy to just invite family and a couple of friends. Money was tight and I was just trying to get it over with since we had been engaged for 3 years and already had a 3 year old. There were no brides maids or groomsmen,no flower person or ring bearer, no dance floor, no afterparty, no venders, At an outdoor restaurant open to the public, it cost me all of $400 including my dress. I’m older”

“Gearing up for a fall 2028 wedding. We’ve looked at 5 venues so far, and only one has given us that “wow” factor. It is a dream venue: the perfect size, historical significance, all the amenities we’d need. The only problem is that the person who’d be coordinating on the venue side of things was a hot mess when it came to discussing financials. I know some people who know people who have held events there, and they advised that my instincts were correct. Surprise costs, spotty communication, etc”
“hi everyone, i just need some advice on this since it is making me very nervous. my fiancée and i are supposed to be getting married next August (2027) and over this summer we toured a wedding venue and told them later in the evening that we wanted to book with them. they took a little bit long to respond to the initial messages (like a week to respond) and we finally were able to send in the deposit (1k) for the venue and claim our date which we did early August this year. i had send multiple f”
“My boyfriend recently proposed in Santorini, and I’m so excited to start planning! He has a very laid-back personality and works away for weeks at a time, so I’m putting together a solid shortlist of venues we can sit down and review together when he gets back. Since his family is Greek, getting married in Greece feels very meaningful to us. However, we are also open to Spain, since we are based in the UK and flights are cheap and easy for our guests, or Italy, which happens to be his absolute f”
“Having a wedding on a small island off Mexico and not sure what to do for the welcome party. Do we need a dj? Should there be games? What does a normal welcome party entail? I don't want to pay double to basically have another party that's just like the wedding minus a ceremony. Was hoping to just have some music (from a big speaker, no dj), hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and mingling. But I feel like something is missing or it won't be enough for my guests after having them travel so f”
“Wedding is in less than two weeks and the HMU vendor just reached out to ask if we wanted to add another artist. We currently have 8 girls getting hair done and 5 getting makeup done. Ceremony is expected to start at 4:30 PM with first look around 1:45 PM. Adding another artist would allow us to start an hour later in the morning and be done 30 mins earlier in the afternoon, but of course we will have to pay extra (~$250) to add this extra artist? Is it worth it or is this just an extra cash gra”
“My partner and I have been together for 10 years, engaged for 3. He proposed when I started grad school so of course I haven’t been wedding planning. Now that I’ve graduated and are starting, I am so anxious about planning and I’m very introverted and so is he, so the concept of having a big party is just so much for me. The only thing is our families have been looking forward to our wedding and are “excited to have a party” since Covid and I don’t know what to do. We have a $20-30k budget but e”
“Has anyone experienced venue regret? I’m afraid that, whichever venue we pick, I won’t be able help seeing all the flaws and compromises in the venue. And that that will only feel stronger once we’ve committed to one venue and can’t look back. I’m trying to be optimistic, but we’ve been searching for months and I feel like whatever choice we make will come with significant compromises and won’t look close to the wedding I’ve always imagined. It’s especially hard given the expense. But we have to”
“Hi everyone! I am engaged and don’t know where to start with wedding planning. I am a self admitted control freak, not the best at replying to emails, texts or calls if I feel overwhelmed and feel like I need someone unbiased to help me get everything booked and planned the way my Fiancé and I want (not allowing overbearing family to take over and make decisions). The wedding won’t be in the state that we live in and might be out of the country (haven’t decided where yet). Also my Fiancé and I a”
“I have an appointment with a bridal studio and made it an appointment with their designer as opposed to just trying on. I will also try on their samples and it would be amazing if I found what I want, but the main thing I want to accomplish is having a professional help me determine what will look best on my body and understand what I’m actually looking for. Finding aspects of a jumpsuit that compliments my body and features matters more to me than a jumpsuit I love the look of that I don’t thin”
“So questions about the ring bearer it a 4 ½ year old and I want to see him walk down would it be weird to have him walk after the bride has already walked? submitted by /u/DuckyRuckus [link] [comments]”
“i got engaged last week and i’m over the moon excited!!! it’s only been a week and the wedding won’t be until 2028, but we’re trying to secure a venue soon and need to figure out a rough estimate of how many people will be there. this month, my fiancé will be at a wedding he was invited to but i was not. he went to high school with the couple and is very excited for them. they aren’t the absolute best of friends but he and the groom text every so often, about once a month according to my fiancé.”
“Hey everyone, so we’re planning to get married next October, and I genuinely don’t know where to start. Every time I look into one thing, I find five more things we apparently need to figure out 😭 First things first, it’ll be around 50 people, and we want something small and fairly short. Nothing over the top. We haven’t fully agreed on a budget yet, but I’m thinking $20k for the WHOLE wedding, not just the venue. I really don’t want us getting attached to things and slowly talking ourselves in”
“Dear fellow wedding planning people! I’m in a big dilemma regarding choice of venue for my wedding and I thought I’d ask for views and comments from your wedding experience. Me and my fiancé are both 27 and got engaged this year. We plan to do a small reception (around 70-80 guests) next summer. We currently live in Switzerland but I’m originally from Poland and we decided to do the reception there to save on costs. We want to pay for the wedding ourselves but we have been working for just few y”

“My wedding is just over 8 months out, so asking my groomsmen and best man is currently my #1 priority to get out of the way. I’m giving them each a gift box including their tie for the wedding, an engraved whiskey glass and a small bottle of whiskey. I’d like to include a message in each, but I’m having a bit of writers block. I’d like to come up with a distinct message for the best man, and another message for the rest. For what it’s worth for brainstorming, The best man is my soon-to-be brothe”
“My fiance and I have been together for quite some years and have lived together for a few years as well so when we were talking about our registry, we really don’t need a lot of the typical things you’d think of when you look at a registry; we have all of our house things and furniture and a good amount of kitchen stuff already. What we don’t have is things like power tools, gardening equipment, stuff like that. So I figured, oh let’s just register at Lowe’s! But Lowe’s doesn’t do wedding regist”
“I need help, I have so many questions when planning a wedding. My fiancé and I are planning to get married in 2028 and I was thinking of going to a courthouse to get legally married a few month prior to hosting the wedding reception (party). Ideally, at our courthouse wedding which falls on a weekday, we would only have immediate family whereas the reception would have 60-80 people. Unfortunately, the day we would like to host the celebration is also on a weekday but it is somewhat of an importa”
“I’m going to be getting engaged this year and want to have an autumn wedding next year, but I’m so overwhelmed and don’t know where to even start. My future in-laws have a very large yard and a barn, so we will probably do a backyard wedding, but other than that I have no idea where to go from here or how far out I need to book things or what I even need to book in the first place. Also everything is so expensive I could cry. :’) submitted by /u/always_flowers [link] [comments]”
“Okay so I just got engaged a little over a month ago. We've agreed to wait 2 years for the actual wedding to save up and be able to diy alot of it. It'll be a smallish wedding with about 100 people. Outdoor ceremony, rented hall ,no hired help etc. Heres the thing. I feel like Im already having anxiety about planning everything in the sense that Im already stressing myself out trying to pick everything I want to do, make and buy. Realistically I have plenty of time and help but my brain”
“Hello, My partner and I are getting married next year and have booked our ceremony and reception. The wedding reception has dedicated suppliers that will help us create the overall aesthetic we are wanting. Above all I just want my wedding to feel classic and timeless; something we can look back on and still love the way it felt/looked. With this in mind we have chosen, white linen, white roses for the table decor with white powder candles in various heights, white menus and dinnerware. For the”
“Hi!!! Just booked our venue & I’m getting super excited! I love our venue, but I need some ideas on how to spruce up our ceremony space! I don’t necessarily LOVE the look of the pergola, but I do love draping! Any ideas? Can someone do mockups? “Question — newly engaged & considering doing an elopement in Barcelona or somewhere in Italy as a “just us” ceremony. We are looking at a few websites that offer packages with 3-5 min videos within different tiers. My question is, when you pay for videography, do you get the outtakes, raw footage etc. or only the final product? For context — I ask because eventually we want to do a delayed reception with friends & family (much more laid back and cheaper that a traditional wedding recepti”
“Hi! My fiancé and I are considering eloping in December of this year and then having our ceremony and reception in April, but I have such mixed feelings about what to do. My fiancé really just wants to be married to me. He doesn’t care much about having a big wedding, whereas I’ve always dreamed of having one. We’re a long distant couple (out of state) who have chosen to wait until marriage to live together. The idea behind eloping in December is that I’ll be moving, and we could finally start o”
“My fiance and I are trying to figure out how we should enter our elopement party, which is the day after our ceremony. I think we should be there as guests are coming in to greet them and make sure they get a wrist band for our open bar. My fiance thinks we should be the last to enter about 30-45 minutes into the party, with an introduction from the DJ. Has anyone had an elopement party or an informal reception after their wedding? How did you “arrive” to the party? Would it be rude to show up l”
“Hello party people!!! I need help with my wedding colors for the parents of the bride and groom! I have no idea what colors to put them in or if I should change my color palette entirely. For background I kind of want a twilight-esque wedding vibe but I’ll also attach my dress, what I picture the groom in, the groomsmen (they will be wearing a black suit with green ties) and the bridesmaids inspo. submitted by /u/Mo-Mojo [link] [comments]”
“Hey! I just got engaged and I really need some help! We don’t have the money to pay for a wedding planner, so we’re doing everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family. We live right outside of Atlanta, but I’d really love for the wedding to be somewhere more in southern Georgia since most of my family is down there. I do not want a coastal or beachy wedding at all. I’m looking for something more flowery and plant-focused — lots of greenery, flowers, and a pretty natural setting.”
“We’re planning a September 2027 wedding (in the United States, where we live) and our guest list is >70% international since fiancé and I have a large diasporic family. We’ve booked almost all of our main vendors, and being the type A bride that I am, I’ve got the save the dates and wedding websites ready to launch. Would it make sense to give our guests all of the information (save the dates + website) with the option to RSVP now, a year out? Fiancé thinks we should stagger the save the date”
“Hi everyone, I wanted to share something I wrote after years of talking to couples who have never booked a DJ before. I realized that I often end up telling the same stories and giving the same advice, so I finally put a lot of it in one place. Hopefully some of you find it helpful. The last thing you want is to invite someone into such an intimate day when you don’t actually feel comfortable with them. “Has anyone successfully planned an Airbnb or VRBO wedding? I found a gorgeous Airbnb that allows weddings and it’s 35 minutes from me, sleeps 16, and would be $4000 for the entire weekend. I understand that this means I’d need to rent pretty much everything, so I’m a little nervous. Does anyone recommend this? Our budget is $30k for everything so I’ve been having trouble finding venue+catering under $18k in my area (Northern VA). submitted by /u/honeybuns2525 [link] [comments]”
“I feel like I’m looking for a unicorn at this point, but hoping someone here knows a place I haven’t found yet! My biggest non-negotiable is a grass ceremony overlooking completely open water. No beach, stone patio, buildings, or trees blocking the view. I’m basically looking for lawn → water → horizon behind us. For dinner, I’d love long tables outside on the grass, with a covered porch/veranda or beautiful indoor space as a rain backup. Definitely no barns or rustic/lodge vibes. I’m flexible o”
“Hi, I want to marry next year in March - need help with wedding planning. 200-250 people. 80-100 rooms. Budget: wedding cost - decor, venue, food, stay, photography, vendors etc. For 55L. Location: jaipur, pushkar, goa, rishikesh or another location which can give us an amazing destination in that price. Also, I need help to plan and understand how much to spend. “My fiance and I are having our Oct 2027 wedding on festival campgrounds that a family friend owns. It’s going to be a dream, & especially for our budget! We really love the idea of everyone who would like to to camp- whether tent/BYO camper/etc. It’s a very go with the flow, weekend long party once the “formal reception” is done. All of our friends are super down & excited to camp, but obviously, we don’t expect everyone to camp. We want to make a substantial hotel block for anyone who w”
“Looking for advice or what you would do in our situation. My fiancé and I knew we wanted a domestic destination in a town that has a lot of personal meaning to us as a couple. We toured a handful of venues that just weren’t right before falling in love with our venue. We booked it about 2 months ago. I’m more on the type A side, so even though we’re not getting married until next April, I’ve already booked ALL of our vendors. We have a partial planner who has helped plan logistical things (bus t”

Some of my family thinks I'm crazy for this because all my cousins spent 30k+ but their dad also paid for the whole thing.
