“Hi everyone, advice needed. I am 4 months postpartum. I was pretty active during pregnancy - mostly walking and very light exercise. I gained 44 lbs during pregnancy. Now, 4 months pp i need to loose only 6 lbs to be on my previous weight.…”
“I’m 11 months postpartum after a C-section and I’ve been thinking about starting to exercise, but I’m honestly scared to. I’m exclusively breastfeeding, and one of my biggest fears is that working out will affect my milk supply, drain my energy, or make me feel weak. I already need so much energy to look after my baby, breastfeed, and get through the day. I’m worried that if I use up that energy exercising, I’ll have even less left for everything else. I also have no support. It’s just me and my”
“I was 136 lbs before pregnancy, got up to 186, then lost 25 lbs in the first week after delivery. Since then 10 weeks later, I have not lost a single pound—and I’m breastfeeding/pumping. Did breastfeeding help you lose weight, or did you find the weight started coming off more easily once you weaned or stopped pumping? I know everyone is different, but I’d love to hear your actual experience and timeline. And what you did to lose the weight. submitted by /u/Significant_Tie3570 [link]”

The problem is that I’m so tired from this marathon of not sleeping through the night that any more than 15 minutes, or too much upright exercise makes me feel awful. I’ve been taking baby on walks as much as I can but weather has been sucky where I live so that’s hit or miss. I have POTS so that adds anothe”
“I’m looking for people to share their timelines/experiences. I stopped breastfeeding 5 months ago, and I feel like my body is still holding on to an extra 15–20 lbs that I gained while breastfeeding. My calorie intake is pretty normal/low, and based on calorie math, I should be losing weight, but I’ve just plateaued. I used to have a pretty fast metabolism, so I’m wondering if that can change after pregnancy/breastfeeding and how long it typically takes for things to regulate. I’m 5'9"”
“I’m 1 year postpartum, breastfeeding 1 time a day, healed diastasis recti with 2 months of physical therapy, and go to lagree 3-4 times a week while training for a half marathon. My core is really strong and I know how to properly engage it while exercising, but I still look pregnant. There’s so much fat sitting on top of my abs. Looking for help! submitted by /u/heyyyyydude [link] [comments]”
“Hi all, I was fit and muscular pre baby, I'm 1 year post partum (still BF) and only now getting back into a proper routine of training a couple of times a week. Things are slowly shaping up but I'm just curious as to what i can maybe expect with chest muscles - I don't expect them to ever be the same but would like to hope for some improvement to the current form! submitted by /u/No_Influence2520 [link] [comments]”

I’ve never been over 130 even during pregnancy. I don’t understand how this is happening. I don’t feel like I’m eating any worse than I ever have but everything is just sticking to me like glue. I can’t live this way anymore it’s just going up and up: I’ve switched my diet to organic, grass fed, non processed EVERYTH”
“I’m 5 weeks postpartum tomorrow. During pregnancy I gained a total of 9lbs, since birth I’ve lost 15lbs. When is it safe for my supply to start actually trying to lose weight (calorie deficit) also, has anyone successfully lost weight while EBF and if so any tips? TIA 🙂 submitted by /u/Acceptable_Engine_23 [link] [comments]”
“I’m exclusively breastfeeding, 3.5 months postpartum and have been a lifetime WW member (lost 80 lbs and kept it off 7 yrs with WW). I’ve gained a lot of weight from breastfeeding, which I know happens to a lot of women with the hormones. I was super active in my pregnancy, I ate super well, and I actually didn’t gain that much, the weight gain all came after from the hormones, the sedentary lifestyle of newborn days, and increase and appetite and came on super fast in the first 6 weeks postpart”
“Hi - 5 months pp and looking for recommendations for home workouts that could help me lose the “pouch” belly fat. submitted by /u/Forward_Rush9760 [link] [comments]”
“Hi all, I’m in my early 30s, FTM. My pre-pregnancy weight was around 51kg. Just before giving birth I weighed around 65kg. I’m now 9 months postpartum and weigh 49kg. I’m eating 3 meals per day plus snacks but am still losing weight. I’ve spoken with a dietician and have been prescribed some shakes to take once a day alongside my regular meals (note, due to the weight loss I had a stool sample check and it came back normal). I am keen to continue breastfeeding for as long as possible (LO has alw”

I’m one of the people that eat everything in sight because of breast feeding, but my problem is, is that I eat quite unhealthy and sugary foods, trifles being one of my guilty pleasures, I have managed to cut trifles out the past few days though I will miss them dearly. I have tried to eat a bit less than I normally would today, not a lot less, I still had three me”
“Hello!! I used to work out a lot before getting pregnant and during my pregnancy-CrossFit and yoga. I’m 8 mos PP and haven’t really worked out much besides walking. I’m thinking about getting back into it but I’m always so hungry lol. What are some good recipes or foods to eat while breast feeding and working out?? I know protein is good but just need ideas!!! Thanks submitted by /u/JasmineOnACarpetRide [link] [comments]”
“Has anyone lost weight while breastfeeding starting at 6 months postpartum? If so what did you so/ did you notice any changes in supply? Currently going on 6 months PP and weight has been stuck at my 1-2 month PP weight, still about 30 lbs from my pre birth weight. I want so badly to go into a big calorie deficit but I have a hungry hungry baby so I’m not sure how realistic that is. I sometimes am able to make it to a workout class and have been walking and plan to run more soon. At 6 months tho”
“Any breastfeeding moms successfully lose some weight gradually postpartum? I lost weight initially then have gained a few pounds back. I try to eat healthy and the weight gain even started after I became more active (following my 6 week appointment). I breastfeed and don’t want to lose my supply so my focuses have just been: increase my protein, eat more whole foods, moderate exercise/walk more. Is this going to help me? I’m feeling very discouraged by the scale continuing to go up even with me”
“I always gain weight postpartum and it is very frustrating, I only gained 8 lbs with my last baby (#4) and I lost 16lbs by 3 weeks postpartum, now at 4 months pp I've gained 13 back and only 2lbs away from what I was when I gave birth, same thing with my other kids only gained 5lbs with my third and gained back 15. I also have pmos I'm wondering if that could contribute?? I feel like my pmos is actually way better when I'm pregnant and crashes when I'm pp. I also exclusively brea”
“I’m almost 7 weeks PP, FTM and exclusively breastfeeding. I had the impression that the weight gained during pregnancy would shed off quicker but I’m still almost 10 kgs above my weight pre-pregnancy. I also have so much excess fat in my thighs, back and stomach. I got cleared for exercise starting next week. What has been your experience? Maybe I’m being too hard on myself. submitted by /u/Worldly_Football7913 [link] [comments]”
“I keep seeing completely different experiences with postpartum weight loss. Some moms say breastfeeding helped the weight come off really fast, while others say they were constantly hungry and actually started gaining weight back. Then there’s the c-section belly, a lot of women say the lower belly area seems to stick around even when the rest of their body starts changing. Its kind of confusing because there’s so much advice online and everyone seems to have a different experience. Curious what”
“Hi everyone. This is baby number 3 for me. I did have plans to lose all my baby weight but it has never happened this fast for me. Yes I worked out consistently prior to this pregnancy. Idk if that's making a major difference. And I'm also now a stay at home mom, I had a demanding career 2 years ago that I left. I'm only 2.5 weeks postpartum. I breastfeed about 90% of the time. Formula for when I need breaks or rest. I quit pumping bc im already an over supplier. I was 150-155 pre-pr”
“Hi I’m seven months postpartum have been exclusively breastfeeding the whole time. Until about five months postpartum I was quite good and going to the gym and being quite good with what I ate so low sugar stuff, some snacks - I’ve got PCOS so was quite mindful and good with moving my body, but then I started getting these dizzy spells and feeling really sick so I started snacking more and that helped. Now I just haven’t looked back so I’m in a bit of a rut - snacking all the time between meals”
“I had my baby a little over 15 months ago, I stopped exclusively pumping at the end of April. I’ve been up 17 pounds since early postpartum and can’t seem to lose the weight. I get my steps in, eat healthy, I don’t over eat. The scale will not budge no matter what. Is there still a chance to lose weight from weaning? Will I ever lose this weight? I feel so defeated :( submitted by /u/FinancialClick9861 [link] [comments]”
“i had some unexpected health side effects towards the end of my third trimester and ended up gaining 40 lbs in my pregnancy. everybody always says when you breastfeed the weight just ~falls right off you~ but that has not been the case for me. I lost 10 lbs right away and have stayed at 30 lbs heavier since. I am currently 7 weeks postpartum and still establishing supply (currently have a slight under supply) and i don’t want my supply to dip, but i would love to start losing weight. I am exerci”
“I’m 4.5 months PP and I haven’t lost any additional weight since the first 10-14 days after birth. Is this normal? When does more weight loss occur? My diet isn’t perfect (there’s a lot of eating out with friends/family and days when we’re too tired to cook) and I’m only run/walking 3 days per week as that’s all I have time for at the moment. Any advice? I know my body took 9 months to grow my baby, but it’s frustrating to watch the scale not move! Edit: baby is EFF submitted by /u/r”
“I am about 60lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight and the heaviest I’ve ever been. I have been EBF for 2 months now, and I’m not necessarily starving but I’m definitely never full despite upping my protein and fibre intake, and I’m boredom eating all day. What am I supposed to be doing? Am I allowed to lose weight? How do I stop eating everything? I don’t know how any of this works! submitted by /u/EntireSlice1011 [link] [comments]”
“I’m 5m pp with my first child and EBF. I haven’t lost any weight since birth except for the initial weight loss of the baby/placenta/water weight etc. My weight was stagnant for ages but now I’m actually starting to gain weight. I know this is totally normal and probably out of my control due to hormones/stress/sleep deprivation but I was already struggling at the weight I was at and now that I’m gaining it’s getting difficult mentally. I’ve had issues with my pelvic floor so have restrained fro”
“I’m almost 7 months PP, I had 2 babies within 16 months and as of today I’m 25kgs heavier than what I was pre babies. The past 8 weeks I’ve been eating in a deficit and weight training at least 3 times a week but the scales will not budge. I also just feel physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted and drained and I wonder if replacing some breast feeds with formula might help with weight loss and overall wellness. I’d love to hear others experiences. Thank you. submitted by /u/R”
“Hi all so my pre pregnancy weight was about 125 and my end weight was about 145… now I weight probably close to 155…. I am only 4’11 so that much weight on me shows…. I feel so fat…. What is a safe way to lose weight but still get the calories and nutrients need to continue breast feeding my 11 week old baby? I want to calorie count but I’m afraid I won’t get everything I need for him.. I am going back to work overnight in a warehouse job that gives a bit of exercise but when I’m home I’m going”
“Has anyone gained weight during one breastfeeding journey and then went on to have another without gaining? I finished BF in January and had gained so much weight that I weighed as much as I did at the end of my pregnancy even though I had lost most of it the first few weeks postpartum.. I'm kind of nervous to go through that again as it's been really hard getting rid of all that weight and I'm still working on getting rid of the last 20lbs. I guess I'm hoping if I get pregnant a”
“21 weeks and wanting to plan a workout routine for postpartum!! i started out overweight (204) and not happy with my image. haven’t gained much (about 4 pounds so far) but i’m feeling motivated to get a regiment started. any recommendations on workouts? any workout plans/influencers you all know that are postpartum? i want to focus on my core because i already had/have a B belly and want to try to get myself lower in weight than what i started with! also planning to breastfeed if you all have ex”
“Hi, Gave birth 6 months back and exclusively breastfeeding. Gained around 12kgs during pregnancy and lost 8 kgs immediately after birth and 1 or 2 kgs more in first 6 weeks. But after 4 months pp, I started gaining weight and I am 4 or 5 kgs more than pre pregnancy weight. I am worried if I will keep gaining weight as I am hungry all the time and eating a lot now. Couldn't go on diet because of breastfeeding. Please tell me your experiences and if this is okay. submitted by /u/No”
“Has anyone actually managed to lose weight while breastfeeding? Currently 3month PP, and lost the 20 I gained while pregnant almost immediately. But after having two babies 22 months apart and breastfeeding both, I’m about 30-40 pounds heavier than I’d like to be. I’m worried if I start trying to count calories or diet, my milk supply will tank. Is it worth trying to lose weight now? Or wait until I’ve stopped nursing (hopefully around 12-15months). submitted by /u/BasisStunning6754”

“I'm 18 months postpartum (still breastfeeding) and it's just so hard mentally and physically to get myself together! My motivation is fleeting especially when I'm running on fumes and bare minimum sleep. This is my second pregnancy and it took me about 4 years to get back in shape after my first. I'm really hoping it doesn't take that long this time around. I've tried adding walking into my weekly routine and attempting to eat better. I may stick to it for about a week or”
“5’1 pre pregnancy I was around 150 lbs which was a little big for me but it is what it is… gained 50 lbs while pregnant… lost 20 lbs the first few months and just been a steady 180. Currently almost 8 months PP. Started exercising 4x a week in April… 30 minutes of stairmaster AT LEAST every gym day, some days I’ll do 45… my cap is 90 minutes. I also do some strength training, normal splits. Back/Bi, chest/tri, legs, then one day of hard core and cardio. Just recently started tracking my calories”
“I’m looking to get in more protien in the mornings. A lot of my friends are crunchy and recommend powders that are very expensive but only give you a few “scoops.” Are there any protien powders you all like or even shake recipes to boost protien and nutrients for breast milk? submitted by /u/hannah12343 [link] [comments]”
“Hi friends! I was an exclusive pumper for 7 months. I used the pitcher method and milk was bagged and frozen on day 2. Baby never had any tummy issues and usually pooped every other day. Now that I’m weaning and using my freezer stash, she is having horrible diarrhea. I’m talking 8+ times a day for the last 4 days. Sometimes it’s green, sometimes it’s the usual yellowish color. Has anyone else’s baby had this reaction to frozen breastmilk? Pediatrician knows what’s going on and thinks we should”
