“Nah this sub is perfectly appropriate. Nothing against the rules for posting it and already has more than 70 upvotes. [re: I hate being a recruiter]”
“Why is this sub infested with recruiters and hiring managers and HR people or even people that are fully employed for years and don’t offer advice other than you’re too lazy try doing this and then it’s the most basic information ever that never works Last I checked this is…”
“Majority of the people here are not trying to help. You for example, came in here and felt the need to basically tell me I cant handle a business and I’m going to fail. So no I’m not going to treat you with the respect that other people that actually help get. lol”
Experienced professionals are frustrated by a community space being overrun with job seekers who don't understand its purpose. This disrupts the intended discussions and value for those already employed, creating a sense of misuse and wasted time. The complaints also hint at broader frustrations with the job search process itself.

“Every time I open Reddit I see dozens of people asking for career/job advice on subs (some that aren’t even employment related) and I just keep reading the same few very general answers. Update resume, practice interviews, network, develop LinkedIn profile, etc. I’ve personally never…”
“We do not allow any commercial promotion or solicitation. This can lead to a permanent ban from the subreddit. [re: Software engineer job postings ask for mentoring more than Kubernetes. We counted 3,518 postings to check]”
“General getting started and career posts are only allowed in the pinned monthly career thread. Many of these questions are already addressed in the sub FAQ. [re: I haven't had to see any source code in like 4 months]”
“Stop spamming this post and make your own decisions like a big boy [re: Situation: Choosing between 2 IT jobs]”
“Share some posts. [re: Are you supposed to just lie and make up jobs once your employment gap reaches a certain length?]”
“This isn't a job board. What exactly are you looking for here with this post? [re: Career Change/ HR opportunities?]”
“"This is not a job". Then don't post the damn thing on a job board. submitted by /u/successfullynumb [link] [comments]”
“This is not a job board. This is a board...oh...nvm. Look at the rules on this board lol [re: I figure things out, learn fast, and fix problems | Looking for remote business-side work with a startup]”

“If this is the wrong subreddit please direct me to the correct one. The only way out is through submitted by /u/changeyourpriorites [link] [comments]”
“"Be better!" is the theme. What is wrong is that this sub has clear rules. Read them. Post career related comment in the quarterly thread Also: No posts about how to get started as a PM. Explain why you feel so entitled, why you believe that everybody in this sub should help you when you so clearly are deeply disrespectful of the rules. The irony is not lost that you claim my reply would be disrespectful. Well done. I guess you are a master at gaslighting as well. So how can your 100%”
“No, that's not what this sub is for. [re: PLEASE HELP ME GET A REMOTE SDR/BDR JOB 😭🙏🏻 (US/Aus/Europe)]”
“Didn’t wanna get flagged for nothing. People have tasks they do daily that takes up time. I handle it smarter and faster. Anything in the online/business field would be what I’m best at. Not a bot btw but I see why it feels like a bot said it 😭 [re: Anyone have something they don’t wanna do?]”
“having people that have been employed for 4+ years and recruiters and hiring managers nagging and throwing MAD disrespect under some posts is illogical to this actual sub lmao I mean, they probably live their lives day to day and come here, completely oblivious to the fact that they are one email away from joining this sub on the other side. So, I'm not entirely opposed to them being around, saying mean, irrational, unhelpful, disrespectful words which they may one day have to eat.”
“Why is this sub infested with recruiters and hiring managers and HR people or even people that are fully employed for years and don’t offer advice other than you’re too lazy try doing this and then it’s the most basic information ever that never works Last I checked this is recruiting hell where people are going through hell to get recruited and are struggling to get a job, and having people that have been employed for 4+ years and recruiters and hiring managers nagging and throwing MAD disrespe”
There’s a whole sub on here of moms going the same thing with their jobs
“They are not on Reddit. This is an echo chamber that mirrors not even 1% of CS graduates. The only people u encounter here are the ones that are frustrated. People who get a job don’t complain here.”
“Majority of the people here are not trying to help. You for example, came in here and felt the need to basically tell me I cant handle a business and I’m going to fail. So no I’m not going to treat you with the respect that other people that actually help get. lol”
“I disagree. Almost every employed SWE I know (including myself) is active on reddit. This is one of the only communities that defy that logic. I usually agree that reddit is a bubble but it's absolutely not in case of CS.”
“First learn to communicate an issue like an adult even in a Reddit thread if you want serious answers. People trying to help aren't willing to help if you can't put any effort.”

“So you are telling me I can now just browse jobs after I finish gooning when that post but clarity hits?”

“I’m not a new grad per se, I have four years of military experience as a Network TPM, and I actually started my bachelor’s while I was still in. After I got out, I finished my bachelor’s and went straight into my master’s. That being said, my fault for not explaining the scale of the company better. It wasn’t a side project. It was a legitimate company that I grew and eventually sold for the mid-six figures. Would I still be considered a new grad in that situation? Genuine question. Or is it mor”
“Nope, not the same panel. It’s the same role but in a different team too. I’m just worried if I reuse some of the content I might get flagged or something”
“Forget this 'skimming off the top' and seek out the actual agent for whatever project. OP is spamming everywhere on Reddit, while what's better for you is that you can just contact whichever agent is hiring.”
“You do not have nearly enough content to need a second page. You need to condense it down to one.”
“You keep saying qualifications in these threads a lot. Want the qualifications? Keep working in the industry and move up. Fucking working for struggling businesses for free. Figure out if that’s where you want to be. Qualifications on running a business? Ask your local business department. Make an actual plan when you’re done “feeling things out” and come back, you’ll get better answers then check the math with all the bills I mentioned above. The food industry eats people that feel things out a”
“Again read my comment above, if you can’t take the 2 mins to understand what business I am in don’t bother commenting. We are not a lead generation company, labor marketplaces help provide LABOR to companies, not match them to homeowners”
“We’re a labor marketplace not a lead generation company my friend. Also the parroting of what every one else says about trades is not helpful. Unless you’ve been in the trades as an owner you have no clue what you’re talking about. I have been there so you’re really not correct and not accurate at all.”
“That’s just stupid subs like r/salary . Then you have subs like this where people say they have not owned a dollar in six decades. That’s just the way it is”
“Well, I am UHNW after a career in tech so I know a little about the industry. You are posting in a Mentor Monday thread about getting into big tech and any comment is followed up by you arguing with people who are fat trying to get you to see that right now is a tough time to be in big tech for someone trying to get in. Good luck with that attitude.”
“Too many people think that they're being clever when they want to be some passive go-between on a market with already strong demand, and then get surprised that they can't get paid to provide a service that no one ever needed. However, it is an opportunity to explore the more expensive/luxury segment. The really skilled people aren't just booked weeks in advance, they can be booked months in advance, to the point where they don't even accept new bookings. And that makes them a ra”
“I can agree with most of these except the filing out content that already included in your resume, and “haggling the pay range”. Having to rewrite what already included in your resume is just redundant and I see no real particular reason to have to do it. Obviously there no point in complaining about it and not doing it but it still is something worth pointing out. And for the second one… since when has salary negotiation ever been considered “haggling”? It literally been a normal part of any in”
“Most people applying for jobs, need a job today- not 3, 6 or 9 months later.”
Nothing wrong with work gaps and nothing wrong with asking about them
