“I don't regret quitting, no. I got really tired of worrying about performance and stats, optimizing thumbnails, titles and scrips, doing research and so on - all for nothing. I gave it a very honest shot, probably 90-95% of my best, chased the "don't worry, just keep at it, your…”

Creators express frustration with YouTube's perceived lack of care for their concerns, citing declining support and prioritization of ad revenue over creator welfare. Some describe the platform as being on 'life support.'

“Cool so the 90 percent is a lie if your actually bout it. And blerting it out without actually adding in HOW they get that 90 percent is a disservice. And just plain demoralizing. Cause its not true. Your chances are wayy higher if your actually bout it and actually trying.”
“They're doing whatever they want. Remember this is the same company that took away the dislike button without our agreement.”
“an mcn isn't gonna save you from bad ai moderation honestly. they mostly care about the big channels that make them actual money, everyone else is just filler in their roster the human review thing is mostly a myth at this point. even partner managers have limited pull unless you're bringing in millions of views what you're describing sounds more like a copyright claim bot going haywire, especially if the clip exists elsewhere on the platform. sometimes just trimming the flagged sect”
“I don't regret quitting, no. I got really tired of worrying about performance and stats, optimizing thumbnails, titles and scrips, doing research and so on - all for nothing. I gave it a very honest shot, probably 90-95% of my best, chased the "don't worry, just keep at it, your next video will make it" copium for years across 250 videos - and it didn't work. That's fine by me. At some point I gave myself permission to take it slower and easier, worry less about optimiz”
“Is this going to be a matter of finding a site with that discoverability? Because you've got these newer video hosting sites like Gumlet and Bunny, but they are mainly designed for enterprise clients and as a Vimeo alternative, but lack the search factor. How do we get these new vid hosts to add that search factor?”
“It's platform decay , it is structural to capitalism and it will continue. These comapnies aren't aiming to increase their market share, they have no incentive anymore to make better products. What they're aiming to do is extracting more value, even if it means providing worse products (like Google Search for example).”
“Its the Mr Beastified YouTube. There are so many different social media platforms now that I honestly wonder why people want to start on YouTube as its not the same as it was 10 years ago.”
“it's just the freaking gurus aka scammers with their hyperbolic click-baity titles”
“Yes, they "somehow" made it work by censoring the entire internet, jailing dissidents, curtailing free speech, enslaving ethnic minorities, nationalizing industry,... So yeah, let's trust those fuckers to do the right thing At least with YT I don't have to put my trust in that alarmingly ridiculous president with the emotional capacity of a toddler, YT still has to follow the rule of LAW. If YT tries to fuck with my business and wrongfully terminates or demonitizes, I can easil”
“I'm gonna add my voice to the chorus. It'll get buried, but whatever. Here goes. There is an element of luck to this shit, but I think people use luck to a large extent as cope. Huffing that shit like a cancer patient huffs a fucking oxygen tank. I'm not saying that about anyone here, but some people do use it as a "fuck it, I quit" card. Luck is how I got my first 150k subs. Luck. Pure fucking luck. And it happened twice. Once 9 years ago and once when Covid hit. I had a c”
“Good Lord. Everyone wants free content, and screw those hard working content creators that get screwed by YouTube. They should just provide free content and not make money to earn a living.”
“Youtube is obviously thinning out what it doesn't want on its platform. Thousands of hours of people spitting into a microphone. Just why?”
“The people getting terminated are either full of AI slop, or Indian bot accounts. And nothing of value was lost.”
“Sure, let's al move our content and livelihoods to a Chinese platform controlled by a communist authoritarian government. Solid plan, I'm sure it will be much better 😏”
“Well, if enough people coordinate and stop paying, then they would stop this nonsense. It's just that enough people need to join”
“No, I don't expect people to do that. But it is/was commonly known. That's why I said that.”
“It’s easy to see cynicism if you’re ignorant on the topic, but it’s not that, it’s realism. Number one issue any new platform will have is trying to figure out how to stamp out all of the bots and AI content that will take over immediately and would overwhelm the real content by an extremely large margin to the point where the real content might as well not even exists, and fixing that would require a whole lot of infrastructure and employees from day 1. Stuff like that is also way more expensiv”
“Why not ask your favorite creators to host their videos on their own website then?”
“He could and it'd be successful until he makes it into a company, because then he will have a board who will see the financial potential and then force Felix to be nothing more then a chair in the room and reformat it into a sponsor platform like YouTube.”
“you mean they would sell out to youtube? youtube cant forcefully buy anything, people just like the millions more than their company”
“Are we deadass right now... These mf'ers be doing anything for profit. submitted by /u/MinecraftNerd2021 [link] [comments]”
“youtube would probably buy it, thats how most corp win the competition now also youtube is too big to fail”
“I mean several costs are absurd, enough youtube was losing money for the majority of its existence. But this wasnt really the point. Prices increase all the time, naturally, due to inflation. If the logic stated is used then the right way of doing it is to steal everything. And I think the way thats stated is a wild take. As I said I dont mind adblocker/people using it, but sometimes I see odd justifications for it, aside from the simple "I dont care about the model, I just want no ads, reg”
“I'll go against the grain and admit that it's aggravating as hell that there are better creators in my niches! But it's even more aggravating that this one guy's zero-production-value videos are getting more views than mine just because his channel is 10 years old and everyone in the niche knows him and not me. The only solution is to not think about it, except to watch long enough to see if there's anything in those videos worth integrating into your own. Otherwise, block it”
“censorship of the smallest things under threat of de-monetization has made everything so sterile.”
“I was exaggerating to be funny but seriously, the current youtube CEO is worth 200 million. The former YouTube CEO was worth 800 million. Wealth like this is disgusting. You or I will never have even a fraction of one percent of it. Stop licking the boots of your oppressors. It's embarrassing.”
“Lol no. They couldn’t even if they wanted to. People don’t realise these companies don’t always know what they’re doing.”
“Ow that's why people are canceling their premium accounts left and right, and people using add blockers and brave browser, because youtube is doing so good. Thanks for your explanation on this topic. Please stay seated while your house is on fire, nothing to see here.”
“YouTube is working worse than usual, I can't resume a video where I left off, so I have to remember or write down the timestamp with a pen like it's the fucking 1950s. Cancerous shit platform, but at least the ads are always up to date. I hope they go fucking bankrupt submitted by /u/Specter_Zer0 [link] [comments]”
“then people be like: "i don't know what to do, i warmed up the account, i added 750 tags, i checked Random BS App for outliers, i copied Mr Beast last video, i optimized for SEO, i have 10 alt channels that i use to like and comment my own videos, i posted to every subreddit there is, i paid for youtube promotion, but i got 10 views, all are mine". "ok, calm down, what's the video about?" "what video?" it would be funny if it weren't so sad”
“the fact that you still waste oxygen in this planet is a miracle and a curse, you and your shareholders do not belong in this planet everyday you make youtube extra annoying to use, just like you. submitted by /u/CakerDeCake [link] [comments]”
“YouTube is a job that asks a lot out of you. If it was a full-time position at a media production company, which expected you to do it all alone, they'd be asking you to basically do the jobs of up to 10 different employees. The difference between being a solo YouTuber and doing the same thing at a media production company is that you don't even get paid as a YouTuber, unless the thing you're making actually ends up working really well. At this point, I wouldn't treat it as a job”
“Nah. I mean not in any real or sustainable way. The trick to becoming a successful artist is secretly hoping to get rich one day while putting in the blood sweat and tears, and maintaining a very REAL and very AUTHENTIC love for creating. Money is the byproduct, the side effect of that passion. Can’t put the cart before the horse. Not without fooling a shit ton of people including yourself. Stick to corporate.”
“I make low 6 figures and there's no way I'd make this from YouTube. Even more than that, I think any job will make more than YouTube on an hourly basis for the vast majority of people. I'm doing YouTube for fun, and as a challenge. Same as working out, kinda, except that also has health benefits. I'm not working out for money, y'know?”
“The good content is out there. It's similar to the music industry. We have the most amazing music from the greatest talents ever. But you will only find it if you know where to look. Because the main stream is completely owned by big companies that control everything.”
“"but i believe you can make good content prioritizing the money you will make." The only reason for the comment”
“And it’s your position that all people should only have jobs that are their dream careers? Our cities would run so poorly in that scenario?”
“Let's keep it real YouTube is just horse shit filled with Community posts from channels you don't give a fuck about, Shorts, lame ass reaction videos, stupid commentary videos, Other people stealing content and claiming it as their own for clicks and views, clickbait thumbnails, and AI Slop That's quite literally all it is now Who else can agree? submitted by /u/SBJTV [link] [comments]”
“Very unlikely, they care less about us than even the Gaijin devs, which are known not to care about the War Thunder players”
“That's not how it works unfortunately. Something else will come along and that will be really amazing then it'll get popular n theyll slowly ruin it with ads and algorhythms until it's so bad we find another new thing and so continues the cycle of enshittification”
“no its way to far in to be mended. its all about the money now. AI, ads and people paying for premium.”
“I believe so! MrBeast has been on thin ice lately, so the more he pulls this bullshit, the better it is for us. The key to that is to understand what's really going on past the algorithmic bullshit. As a creative from North Carolina myself, I know he doesn't represent North Carolinian creatives as a whole, and I hated him before it was cool. I don't even watch his content, and yet I've always seen him as a complete show-off, but now he's become a complete sellout.”
“like literally what do you think the content manager is gonna do, that’s something you take to the top, this random employee isn’t gonna do shit submitted by /u/Far_Can4956 [link] [comments]”
