“This is my first ever big project, i got the 3d print about a week ago and absolutely love it. I cut and add hexagon dowels in this sword but i came to a problem. The dowels were too big and i had to sand it down to make it fit. Whats your tips on getting the dowels to work…”

“I printed a site miniature out of PLA and knew there would be visible joints. I have glued the pieces together and now I am filling the joint with silicone caulking and I am not loving it. What is your go to tips and tricks…”
“Just got back from NYCC. My shield prop snapped in transit. My fault, should’ve bought a hardshell golf bag. Not sure what the best course of action would be to fix it. Worked so hard on the prop and don’t wanna restart. Thanks! submitted by /u/Slight-Win7275 [link] [comments]”
“Hello, i must print those covers for my house, they cover the bolts on the floor. They must be two pieces, but the original snapping system sucks with those pins (I think it's weak if printed). I wanted to make a fish tail snapping style but i don't know if this Is right, any suggestion? submitted by /u/Level_East_8476 [link] [comments]”

“Hey, i recently got a A1 mini, but i would like to print something bigger than the plate allows, specifically, a case like this . I the proceded to cut the model in the slicer and print it out as a protototype... It came out quite well, but now i am wondering what the best way to solder this pieces togeather would be. I saw many alternatives online, from uisng glue, to using a sold3ering iron or even chemicals able too melt and solder plastic togeather. Any reccomandation is wellcome submi”

“Hello. A month ago, I had a sword for my cosplay that was put together piece by piece. I’m not sure if this was the right thing to do, but I used super glue on the joints, and it’s starting to come apart at the seams. I’ll be taking it apart again soon, but what’s the best way to put these two pieces back together? What do you guys use? submitted by /u/merakli_tilki126 [link] [comments]”
“I have a baton in multiple pieces that I wish to run a steel rod through. Ive done it before with pre-cored models. I can do it piece by piece, but am concerned about them lining up post print (resin) Are there any scripts or tools that would make the core on several pieces at once? submitted by /u/Eineegoist [link] [comments]”
“This is ABS plastic, so instead of glue (which will break) I would try "welding" it back together: use a small screw driver and heat the tip (needs ~ 400°C) with the hot tip you can melt together the broken off parts. You will first have to find the small clips that broke off and unscrew the broken-off bits of the window control unit. Try to "dry" fit them first, maybe temporarily locate them with sticky tape.”

“I want to print this part (it is a 60cm long overhead housing for an ultrasonic sensor, the extended round side is going to be mounted unto a round pipe and then bolted) planned on using a 1mx1m printer but then it is having a mechanical problem so i can not use that. I am going to use a desktop printer... the problem now is how I am going to split and then join them after printing since the desktop printer can't print large model. how do I go about it?? submitted by /u/Minute-Pi”
“With there being so many options for joining parts which do you use and why? Do you use mechanical methods like hot staples or glues/resins, and which works (or doesnt) with each plastic type? Im asking because there is always something new and could use any updates... submitted by /u/MattReedly [link] [comments]”
“Its supposed to be a Cosplay Mouse Head, I need to print it for my best friend's birthday, I only have 6 days, And I need it printed now! I had to spilt the model into 4 parts this is the side snout part, I am using a creality ender v3 ke, and Petg filament from temu, I am kinda new to 3d printing, There's only 2 supports https://preview.redd.it/twsx6ou5i5mh1.png?width=711&format=png&auto=webp&s=94e695eed3ab547491adaf58bdcfc090b393c913 submitted by /u/animalover84”
“So im trying to make a like sheild for a cosplay thing, and idk how to connect all the big flat peices of this, so it wont like break and will stay together when its like moved around a lot and shook around a bit, so idk what to do i could like screw the parts together but idk the whole thing is way too big for my a1 so i gotta cut it apart submitted by /u/Kammo1116 [link] [comments]”
“Looking for suggestions on how to best temporarily fix these two parts together. The entire assembly is very long and it needs to break down at this point for transport. Current idea is get 2 toggle latches with 90 deg hooks and mount those on the inside. Then have low profile hook and loop on the rounded mating surfaces. Other idea is to create a bracket that butts up against the square surface, mount that to the long piece, then use threaded heat inserts to accept screws. Parts have low infill”
