“Hello. I’m new to 3D printing and I got my hands on a FLSun Q5 to start out with. Issue is, no matter what I do I can’t seem to get auto-levelling to work out at all. In the video you can see all works somewhat fine until a certain point where the printer almost seems to be…”
Several posts from new 3D printing users express intimidation and a lack of direction. They seek advice on getting started, finding free print guides, and troubleshooting common issues like clogged nozzles and bed adhesion.

“I’ve inherited an Ender 3 Pro and have no prior 3D printing experience, so I’ve been following the usual setup advice online. I’ve done manual bed leveling with a paper and ran a test print ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2987803 ) and it hasn’t been sticking well and printing very thin, even after almost a dozen adjustments and re-attempts. There’s some kind of auto-leveler installed so I tried using the v2 test and updating the gcode accordingly but it’s still not sticking very well, and c”
“Picked up my first 3D printer today (Ender 3 V3 plus) and when I got home I realized I I don't have a spool holder. Plenty of files for that but is there a pro tip on how to hold a spool while I print an actual spool holder? I picked up 3 spools of PLA on the way home so can I just use a dowel or something and suspend the spool between the other 2 boxes? submitted by /u/BatchWerks [link] [comments]”
“Just picked this up from a friend was wondering how would I even get started with repairing something like this. I don’t know much about 3d printers, but the belt needs replacing it seems to be stuck in the printer head too. Was told couple of wires got melted together too. But anyways if I anyone knows of any resources that would be great. I did find a video of a teardown and rebuild from the 3D print zone yt channel so I did start there but more information would be great too! submitted”

“Im not the greatest with computers but im great with an ipad. Ive just been printing free stuff on makerworld but id like to try creating my own designs to try. Is there any apps you'd recommend where I can create on the latest iPad air ? I tried tinkercad cad but it seemed really basic to me. My wife is a teacher and I have kids so id like to design orginal fidget toys, clickers and other basic stuff. Anything you recomend is greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/Kurthemon [link]”

“My mom asked me to make a post asking for help with her 3d printer. I don't know much about it myself so if you have any questions I can relay them to her and reply. My mom has a Bamboo labs X2D. She's using Bamboolabs transparent real PLA. Temps were the Bamboolabs automatic settings. Outer wall 50 inner walls 200. She was using Bamboolab software. Used glue stick on the bed because we were having adhesion problems. First couple of layers were fine, walked away, came back hours later, w”
“Hello, I've never done any 3d printing or modeling so I'm completely new to this. I like anime and I like collecting figures but the only figure from a character I like is 500-1500 euros so I wanna 3d print the character myself. I made this stuff with VRoid studio and downloaded something off if Booth to get the clothes, the sword I downloaded off of some random website too. I downloaded my VRoid character and put it inside blender and idk what to do now. My local library has a 3d printe”
“Recently received this grip case for my ayn Thor bc it looked similar to my skull-n-co grip case I bought for my switch lite, costed about $12 USD. This might be me nitpicking here but for $34 USD I thought the product would be more "polished" instead, I saw that there are lots of noticeable jagged and sharp edges. Idk much about 3d prints but I thought people usually sand those stuff down to make it look nicer and I also noticed small divots, where I think padding was supposed to be.”
“first time doing 3d printing. i’m using an anycubic cobra with 1.75mm pla filament. i cleaned the bed and made sure the temperature settings are to the exact specifications. no matter what i try, either the first layer comes out uneven and stringy, or it just doesnt adhere at all. i’m at the end of my rope here, what could i possibly do to fix this!! submitted by /u/Pure_Ad9543 [link] [comments]”

“Apologies for all the questions but I am slowly climbing the rock-face that counts as the "FDM Printing Learning Curve". I've been messing with Fusion 360 to try out some designs and I need a little help with text sizing. I want to use my FDM printer to create some bits an pieces for wargames. I've tried adding some text to them by extruding and "cutting" into bodies and neither seems to work well at the scale (3mm letters). See photo for details. At what size do lett”

“I got my first 3D printer, a Bambu Labs A1, back in March. It currently has 1448 hours of print time. I then got an A1 mini back in July, and it currently has 112 print hours. When I first got my 3D printer, I felt like I needed to learn CAD, and I had a desire to learn, but my ADHD kept me from doing it. Well, now that’s medicated, and I have the ability to focus. But after all this time, I haven’t run into too many situations where I was like “man, I can’t find this print file, I wish I had th”

“I got a print online, and it printed smaller than I liked. I broke the small print. I learned how to increase the size to what I like. The defect, if it is one, I'm a week in, so I need some help. The defect, is on both the small, and larger print, in the same spot, and I am wondering if I can fix this somehow, or what is happening. Are the little squibble spots in each line causing the split in the print? I seem to have found them in the G code, but don't quite understand deleting them.”
“I recently bought an Elegoo CC2 and I am now curious on what accessories I should get, I'm a teenager so on a limited budget, I want to know which accessories I should prioritise for a total of £150, not necessarily CC2 specific but just 3d printing in general, all advice is appreciated, I really appreciate it. submitted by /u/Old-Needleworker-377 [link] [comments]”

“I was hesitant about buying a printer, and even had buyers remorse after my purchase. ...but the very first print i made saved me $69, and that's not hyperbole. The knob on my Samsung dryer has a cracked key hole sleeve. The part that keys into the machine to turn the shaft when you turn the knob. This caused the knob to slip and not always turn the shaft to change the dryer setting. It was SO annoying. I tried super glue, tape, and many other methods to fix it. A new knob costs $69!! So the”
“I'm new at 3d printing and just bought a second hand Kokoni EC1 for the start. Right now Im using their filament, but does someone have this printer and use filaments of other companies? Do other filaments work well? submitted by /u/KnowledgeableBoar42 [link] [comments]”

“I bought this Ender 3 second hand and haven’t had a chance to deep clean it yet, so excuse the cat hair and dust. I have done 4 successful small projects on my Ender 3 and then wanted to try to create a roller for a little stand that I planned to make. I walked away from it and didn’t realize that the PLA was gunking up the nozzle until it was far too late. Is there an easy way to get this off or did I completely ruin it? Very novice in the 3D printer world, so any tips or tricks are welcome as”
“So to start just got this printer about a week or so ago. Started off fine, or at least fine for me(1st picture) Then went to make multiple of the same print on the plate, everything fit and lined up in orcaslicer with no faults or warning. Go to print and part way through noticed that some was lifted, missing, etc.(2nd and 3rd pictures) I thought it was because I forgot to level the plate(circle back to new to print, thought auto level meant it "auto" leveled during the print not sure”
“Let me start by saying I've owned a printer less than 24 hours, I have some friends running them and they finally convinced me to buy one. I had some idea of what to expect but now I'm having issues. I got a barely used K2 printer, less than a week of run time. Last night, using the creality cloud mobile app, I managed to get a small figure to print successfully but this morning the PLA filament doesn't seem to want to feed/print. I have cleaned the bed with 90% iso, so I don't t”
“I picked up a Dremel 3D20 at the local share shed. It has filament in it. I’ve never 3D printed before. What do I need to know to get started and test it works properly? submitted by /u/Brilliant-Side1887 [link] [comments]”
“Hello all, First, I really appreciate all the help I’ve seen y’all give others. I know there are some pretty serious 3d printers on here and I’m a little nervous to ask a question that might be a stupidly easy answer. So, I was given a Creality SE-6 for helping a friend I know it’s an older model, but it was free and it’s what I can afford. I’m using PLA at a 210 nozzle and a 60 bed. I’m usually printing at 100%, but I never got a manual so I have no idea what the actual feed speed is. I’m using”

“So I have creality k2 combo and loving it. Learning ever day. But I'm kinda scared to print I'm multiple colors, even small stuff. Don't know why. I know it takes longer, but for some reason Im a little afraid of it. Is this kind normal. I know I will do it but for some reason when I see that the print will need to change colors a lot it makes just nervous I guess. I know I'm being silly. Any good advice. submitted by /u/spiff01 [link] [comments]”

“I am new to all this and Google throws up lots of different stuff that I don't yet have a handle on. So I thought this would be the best place to try get some simplified and to the point info. I want to do some poured silicone figures and items. I would like to use the 3d printer to make molds to pour into. I am aware that some silicone doesn't properly with some filaments. So the questions I have are as followed. For those who have used 3d printers to make molds for pouring or making it”

“I have just recently gotten my hands on an Ender 3 VE SE( I think, haven’t memorized the name yet) and finally got a pc to use solely for printing. I have zero experience with CAD, modeling, or any other kind of software for STL file editing. I’ve done a tiny bit on the Creality software but that’s it. What software would you recommend for a cheap beginner to use? submitted by /u/Apprehensive-Beach-4 [link] [comments]”
“I'm a bit new to 3D printing so my terminology won't be great. I have a Creality Ender V3 SE that is printing PLA. I'm also using the Ultimaker Cura software, in case that's relevant. Also, in my area, my current room temperature is 50-60 degrees F. I used to print in the Summer where it worked the most. I had my printer for over a year now and have been printing perfectly fine with little to no concerns. But recently, my printer slowly started acting funny and had difficulty ext”

“Hey all, recently got into 3D printing (after some troubleshooting it finally worked, yey!) However can anyone tell me what went / is going wrong here? It was going swimmingly and then it kinda shit the bed with those lines there. Using Elegoo PET-CF at 270°C Bed at 100 °C Not using crazy speeds at all. Also applied some printer glue. Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/GwNNwG [link] [comments]”
