“My husband is a maintenance mechanic, and he brought home this small plastic piece and asked if I could try to design and print. So I did so in Tinkercad. However, when I put it in the slicer, it only wants to print the middle and not the sides. Can anyone take a look at the print? I'm using the Bambu Handy slicer, and I tried Orcaslicer. I don't often design my own prints, so any help is greatly appreciated!!! Here is the direct link: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/iEhFo5hXdAs-sensor?”

“I recently got in to 3d printing using my dad’s and was curious about how to make my own models. Particularly learning how to design and print my own doll bodies and faces (no ai programs though). If anyone has any advice/resources or some videos to watch I’d be very grateful! submitted by /u/Fearless-Carrot3579 [link] [comments]”

“Hi everyone, Brand new to 3D printing, I downloaded a rose and I am wanting to change the petals a bit, I went to Tinkercad but it says the mesh is too complicated, does anyone know what program I can use to tweak the project? Thanks! submitted by /u/CatInternational7401 [link] [comments]”

“Good morning everyone, Recently, my father and I bought a 3D printer, a Flashforge C5 Pro (for now we print with PLA HS). We’ve already had a lot of fun using it together, but now I’d like to start designing and creating more of my own projects. Since the printer is located at my father’s house and I live about 40 minutes away, the trial and error approach is not always the most practical option. Because of that, I usually try to do some research before printing something based purely on intuiti”

“Hello! I am not new to 3D printing but I am new to 3D modeling. I have printed items like floppy starfish and stingray fidgets. I would like to make my own floppy inspired mesh designs but dont know where to start. A friend of mine recommended fusion 360? Would you guys recommend that program for projects like that and if so are there tutorials aimed at creating models such as this? Thank you!! submitted by /u/Sweet-Ratio-1978 [link] [comments]”

“Is there any 3d/cad tool that doesn't require 621 degrees and 926 majors? I just wanna cut model A in half, take the bottom edges and build a simple wall to the edges of model b, but apparently the cad softwares dont think that simple, oh you "just" wanna cut something in half, well thats dumb, not like knifes or saws exist how about you go thrpugh like 10 weird steps that require a 30 minute tutorial submitted by /u/Kittysvoid [link] [comments]”

“I’m looking for something or some way to create 3D models for printing. Whether it be an AI generator that I’m able to tweak when it doesn’t work right or somewhere I can make my own models. I’m brand new to 3D printing. I’m just trying to make a gift for someone and can’t seem to find what I’m looking for already made. I appreciate any help submitted by /u/linksalt [link] [comments]”

But I’d like to make more custom stuff. Especially simple parts to fix my cars with. Mostly little annoying clips and brackets. “I have an invention that I am working on. I know exactly what I’m looking for and have an image with some technicalities, including general size and material, which would be silicone. But I am really struggling how to go about getting a cheap or free CAD. And how to get a prototype maybe 3-D without spending a lot of money. Can someone help me? I feel like I have some pieces in my head of what steps I need to take, but I don’t know if it’s in the right order and how to actually execute, especial”

“I have only created really basic stuff and a friend wants a small version of this sculpture. Is this doable through the slicer or would I need some CAD software. I'm a newbie so I like the challenge to help me learn but not really sure where to start. How hard would you say this is 1/10. submitted by /u/chitownbears [link] [comments]”

“Hey guys, can anyone help me understand how I can easily create my own 3D designs? I’m also considering getting the designs made by someone, but I have no idea what the usual market price is for 3D design work. If you have experience with this or know someone who does 3D designing, please guide me on the process and approximate charges. Any advice would be really helpful! submitted by /u/y4shh_hhh [link] [comments]”

“Hello, recently i had a problem with designing things i wanted to make. I'm searching for some tips from anyone who has some experience with producing their own things using 3d printers. How do you design your things? Do you first approx your measurments or you draw some sketch on paper or what? Thanks for all replies in advance. submitted by /u/Dredbro [link] [comments]”

“It's pretty basic, but I have no clue where to begin. I used to have Inventor back in high school, but I can't afford a license for that or remember how to use it for that matter. Where can I go to get this made easy? I don't mind doing it, I'm just making it for my girlfriend, so I'm not wanting to spend a lot of money to make it, as it's just for fun. submitted by /u/maxnolen [link] [comments]”
