Amazon Flex drivers are upset by low block pay

“Anyone else get like 3 reserved offers for base pay and then nothing after declining them? Like, sorry, absolutely not going to reserve a garbage ass offer a week in advance just so y'all can penalize me when I cancel because I can do better.”
“Why are blocks that have been reserved offers over 100 dollars since I’ve been doing flex for two years, this week all at 65 and 74 dollars a block. Literally 25 plus less per block?! What is going on?”
“Is it me or Amazon flex is just getting worse by the day, can’t rely on it anymore, it was good but now, it’s just so bad, like the pay, the extra work you have to do now, trying to get a good block is like impossible. Seriously I remember like 3 years ago, I had Amazon flex but…”
Several Amazon Flex drivers express dissatisfaction with the decreasing or inconsistent payment rates offered for delivery blocks. They feel that Amazon is strategically lowering pay to individual drivers, leading to frustration and a reluctance to accept certain routes.

“Ok I’ve gotten used to picking up $40-45 1 hr 30 min shifts. Since yesterday, Amazon won’t show me a 1.5 over $37. coincidence or is Amazon doing it on purpose ? submitted by /u/Revolutionary_Tap198 [link] [comments]”

Seriously I remember like 3 years ago, I had Amazon flex but I never actually tried, didn’t used it for almost a year, mind I was seeing really good blocks, but one time I got a block $150, I took it and was heading to the station but ran into a traffic, couldn’t make it, called s”

“Just wondering if you guys find it reliable to wait until at least on the day to book your block? These pay rates for when you book a block well in advance are a joke (amazon need to sort it) and the only way I feel somewhat compensated is when I book last minute with higher rates submitted by /u/claude25 [link] [comments]”
“I accepted a last-minute block to earn extra money 2hr 30 min $82.50 thought it was cool but Amazon really wanted to f me today profit after gas and fast track is 20 cents lol submitted by /u/Outrageous_Gap_597 [link] [comments]”
“Im taking a day off, but if it paid enough id go do a block, but ive watched all these blocks time out now and they wont increase the pay, im just looking for an extra 10-20 bucks to cover gas but nooooo, I wish I lived somewhere that it actually surged good They'll get a van driver to come in and do this before they pay anymore around here, or let it time out 5 times until someone desperate sees it submitted by /u/Sufficient_Tooth_949 [link] [comments]”
“What mindset are you in when you accept a 3-hour block for $61.50? Seriously, I want to understand. I’ve been doing Flex for years , and I’ve noticed a pretty significant change over the last few weeks. When gas prices started climbing, instead of seeing 4-hour and 3.5-hour blocks, my station started offering mostly 3-hour and 2.5-hour blocks. On the surface, you might think that sounds better because the blocks are shorter. But here’s what happened: the number of routes basically doubled. I spo”
“I just looked at my earnings history from like two months ago and compared it to the shit Amazon is paying now… and honestly, I don’t even feel like picking up any blocks anymore lol. The difference is crazy. I used to actually get excited when I saw a good block pop up. Now it’s mostly 3 hour blocks with garbage pay. I switched over to Instacart for now btw 😂 Anyone else feeling the same? submitted by /u/Potential-Pattern-49 [link] [comments]”

“Fellow flexers in California, are you finding it worthwhile to grab blocks right now with current gas prices? Funny that Amazon said they would adjust rates but I’m still seeing $25/hr blocks. Personally I’m not taking as many blocks as I used to. I’m trying to mainly grab 4hr blocks but now it’s all about 1-2 hr ones that are a waste of time and effort. submitted by /u/tijuas_86 [link] [comments]”
“Has anyone else noticed how badly Amazon Flex batch pay has dropped lately, or is this just happening in my area? When I first started just a couple months ago, I was seeing: $77 for 3 hours $48 for 2 hours $24 for 1 hour $108 for 4 hours Now it’s around: $67 for 3 hours $46 for 2 hours $24 for 1 hour $96 for 4 hours Like seriously, what happened? We’re doing the exact same work, dealing with traffic, gas, mileage, parking, and everything else, and they’re just quietly cutting the pay. A few dol”
“Looking at the available blocks today - no one wants to take them. Sunday blocks got released - 25 min later they're still there. Maybe half got taken. No 4h blocks - and I suspect that same ~40 stops routes are now rebranded as 3.5h blocks. At this point, I also don't see much reason to take any blocks, with a good chance of being sent to Long Beach. Your thoughts, guys? submitted by /u/FlexDriverAirline [link] [comments]”
“What in the actual Banana is going on? These blocks are so low. Usually we get : - 4 hrs when offered at base pay for $98, when surged it can go up to $131. - 3.5 hrs at $91 & when surged at $121 - 3hrs at $81 & when surged uo to i think $117. Now look at this.. we both have been tapping the past couple of days, it specifically started last week when we saw the LOW LOW blocks rolling in. And no more 4hr blocks either.. $73.50 for 3hrs!! WTAF?! Anyone in the same boat or is our .com stati”
“I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, I had a block scheduled from 6:45am-10:15am for $94.50 this morning. I’m up and ready to go and checked to see what other offers were this week and I had a notification on the app to ‘check my schedule’ and it was just gone? Nothing in my emails either and I tried updating the app. I get those offers frequently but it was literally there the last time I checked at 1am. submitted by /u/winnie-rae29 [link] [comments]”
“The closest instant offer place i have is an hr and half away. And since diagonal doesn't count i realistically have zero chance to even get the $50 as I highly doubt there will be any left out of 5500 by Saturday. This is a promotion specifically designed for those who can get to an instant offer place. I only have a .com near me so best chance is the fri and Saturday block line. submitted by /u/javibeme [link] [comments]”
“Y’all, I’ll never play with jeff bezos and cancel those blocks late again. Feels good to be back. Can I ask does it still count against your standing if you’re cancelling before the 45 minute late cancellation window? submitted by /u/Revolutionary_Tap198 [link] [comments]”

“There are dozens of carts sitting here that with dozens of blocks not picked up for 2130. It’s 2129 and not a surge one. Amazon just don’t give a fuck. There’s 20 or so more carts on the back side that can’t be seen in these pictures. The Charlotte market is garbage. submitted by /u/JamieB078 [link] [comments]”

“It’s fucking crazy that Sundays are literally the ONLY day I can grab a 3.5 hour block for $122. Which just proves they COULD offer blocks at those rates the rest of the week they just don’t fucking want to. Meanwhile, I’m out here having to take 3.5 hour blocks for $94 during the week. What a fucking joke. submitted by /u/Potential-Pattern-49 [link] [comments]”
“LIKE WHAT????? Pls tell me if this block is the same for you guys or not I wanna know before I accept this BS submitted by /u/Some_Mind_2654 [link] [comments]”
“To all the people who work at DPL7 stop taking these low ball offers…. It went from $89.50 then people started taking $87.50, then its $86, now its $82.50…. STOP the routes are over 100 miles and so spread out its not worth the money, you’re dumb and stupid for taking the lower pay each week, you’re ruining it for the rest of us and yourself… just be quicker at accepting blocks that are worth the time and money… submitted by /u/Klutzy_Orchid_9260 [link] [comments]”
“Gas is higher than its been in years and Amazons response is to send reserved offers that are ALL base pay. Anyone else from VMC3 seeing the same? Other stations? I know I’m not accepting them submitted by /u/Southern_Stranger782 [link] [comments]”
“I tried to hang in there and even do surged blocks but I can’t make it make sense anymore. People on here joke about we pay Amazon to work but I’m not too sure it’s a joke at this point. I’ll try again when gas goes down, blocks pay more, or if I literally have no other choice but to pick up a route. submitted by /u/Lasting_Greatness [link] [comments]”
“It’s very strange that when I do Surge Fresh block and I don’t get tips, but on regular paying blocks I do. I’m very suspicious now. Anyone experiencing this? submitted by /u/Dr-TQ_Leo [link] [comments]”

“Hey yall! So I've been seeing a lot of 4 and 4 1/2 hour blocks in my area. I'm new to flex but not new to gig work. I also do spark and the time listed is very much how long it takes to deliver. However looking at other posts it seems I could finish up a 4 hour block in 2 ish hours. Is that right? The early morning ones always surge and I'm tempted to do them but I also want to make sure I can get back home before school starts for my kids! submitted by /u/ajpiper123 [lin”

“What's going on with the pay down here? Only $10 and $11 blocks; this is insane. Has anyone been able to get decent pay this whole month? submitted by /u/Efficient-Truth-6261 [link] [comments]”
“So Amazon SSD releases 150 offers at once & they suck!!!! Literally $54 for 3hrs & chances are you end up with almost 50 packages😤 Just realizing through another Worker that if you do the one hour blocks & a Customer leaves a tip Amazon will split it between all Drivers that deliver to that address same day which is crazyyyy!!! One Lady had 11 Whole Food deliveries fit $18 & NO tips!!! I’ll never accept those! submitted by /u/BlackBeauty50489 [link] [comments]”
“Gas is $4.45 out here. How and tf are we supposed to survive with weak a** blocks like this? They can’t be serious. Do they consider or think about the price of gas or wear and tear? These blocks alone couldn’t even buy me a full tank of gas. This is absurd. submitted by /u/OkAgent1867 [link] [comments]”
“I have taken a total of three one hour blocks which where about $21-22 *plus tips. They've all been in addition to at least one other block or other gig work so it is at least worth it for me. The first two I did not get a single route and go paid which was easy money for me because I live a little over twenty minutes from the station and have a vehicle that is pretty good on gas. This last 1 hour route I did end up getting one package which was about 5 minutes from the station and to my sur”
“So let me start off with that my 4hr blocks are a whopping 74$. I know right, fat cheddar! I do however move like lightning and get them done in 90-150 minutes so that’s why I still do them. These guys decided to throw a curve ball the other day and send me for about 124miles (when including getting back.) I am pleased to say…..that Mr.Kisses & Andy Bunz blessed me with a 5$ block adjustment!!! So stoked guys yaaay!!!! submitted by /u/dieseldnb174 [link] [comments]”
“Told myself ain't doing no 3 hour blocks unless it is 70 bucks. So I waited, and waited, BAM Got one. Next time it was 69, i said fuck it whats a dollar. Next time 68. Then 67. Now 66. I stopped. Fuck it. I want 67 min. They are not just low balling all of us together, their low balling you as an individual to see your pain point. Sneaky bastards submitted by /u/dcjjjzz777 [link] [comments]”
