“Does my cherry barb look physically okay? I can’t tell if he’s clamping his fins or if he looks sick. He hasn’t been all that active, won’t do much exploring, and won’t leave this specific area of the tank. He still eats (He goes nuts chasing food), still occasionally dives down to forage in the gravel or nibble at the leaves of my plants like the others do, and will sometimes chase the females, but I’m not really sure what to do at this point as other than those thing, he doesn’t really do much”

“Hello, I believe I’m going to have to cull this lil guy. Just for better understanding, does anyone know what may have happened to him or her? The shape and belly area have changed dramatically in the last week. 2nd photo is from a month or 2 ago. Thanks for sharing your experience and thoughts! “Sorry for the bad photos but the all orange has been hiding a lot and noticed it looks a little bit more chubby it looked like the black and orange fish in the other photo these are my daughters fish and I was wondering if anyone could help me out is the fish pregnant or just a big eater 🤦♂️these are variatus platy submitted by /u/Puzzleheaded_Bit197 [link] [comments]”
“I have been observing the fish for a couple of weeks now. Initially, I suspected it was pregnant, as it spent most of its time hiding in the vegetation and behaving territorially; however, I can now see through its belly. Is there anything I can do to save its life, and is the condition contagious to the other fish? submitted by /u/powerbart [link] [comments]”

For a while everything was going fine until a few days ago my rainbows started dropping dead. “Sorry if I'm not describing the issue properly, my english isn't the best. I noticed these things on him a few days ago, but I didn't really notice if he had already had them when we got him — which was Saturday. I have no idea what it is but it really concerned me, doesn't look normal. Aside from these bubble like things on him, he's also been behaving weirdly? I mean, he's been eating the sand from the aquarium, and I don't know if that's exactly normal. He'”
“Hiiiii sooooo my rosy barb has a lump on her right side. Of course this comes up during college apps but alas. I know it’s barely visible, but it’s still concerning, especially because in July one of the males had the same problem and passed two weeks later. I chalked it up to organ damage from a parasitic infection he had last year, especially because neither Prazipro, Kanaplex, nor Epsom salt baths helped. By the time Metroplex arrived, it had already advanced to dropsy with pineconing, and he”
“TLDR: growth protruding from betta that was recently unwell and recovered from pineconing. Only noticed the growth yesterday and has rapidly grown over the last 24 hours. First two photos are last night, third was this morning, the others are this evening For some backstory, this is my boy Disco. About 3ish weeks ago, he developed some bloating which I treated with a fast, epsom salt baths, and daphnia. He developed some dropsy during this, but seemed very bright and happy so despite knowing thi”
“I don't know if it is anchor worms. The mass doesn't have the shape of one. I wonder if it an injury from bumping against some of the drift wood. Should I quarentine the fish or try to pull the mass off? submitted by /u/ihatemybog [link] [comments]”
“I’ve noticed a lesion on my cherry barb, I think it’s bacterial after comparing her to others, she’s swimming slightly wrong and is bobbing up and down only slightly but differently to the other fish. I’m doing extra water changes to help but i have invertebrates and scaleless fish in the tank. Any suggestions on what to do or dose? submitted by /u/DifferentFuel3082 [link] [comments]”
“I've isolated him just in case, but he has this weird spot on his dorsal fin. He is still active and eats eagerly, ive had him isolated for about 2 days. I know the glass is gross, this is my quarantine tank. If you can see, the dorsal fin is kinda transparent above the dot. I've had him for 4 weeks, with his crew of 8 total harlequin rasboras. I quarantined them without treatment for 4 weeks, because they were healthy and didn't need treatment. They were quarantined in a 10 gallon t”
“Pics are hard to get but theres a bubble like growth on my wcmm's mouth. Its eating and moving ok and its the only wcmm i have in my tank so it couldnt be from sparring. Tank water has been treated with salt but the bubble isnt going away for a week. Should i separate him from the rest of the tank? Quarantine? “I just got 2 julii Corys from my LFS just a week ago. They are small and have a lot of hiding places so I don’t see them often, but today one of them reappeared with a bright red/pink object protruding from its gills!!! There was no sign of this a week ago. It almost looks like a worm! I did give bloodworms two days prior. Could they be related? I’ve never seen anything like it. “just noticed this on my rainbow shark. I left town for three weeks and had somebody tending to my fish while I was away. my rainbow shark likes to hide so I didn’t notice it right away when I got back. it could have happened anytime over the last month, don’t know for sure how long it’s been there. is this a wound or an infection? is it possible that my fishsitter did this? is it treatable? is it contagious to my other fish? is it fatal? He is acting completely normal, doesnt Appear to be in dis”
“Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help identifying what’s going on with my guppy. He has developed multiple lump/bubble-like growths on his dorsal fin. The lumps are almost the same colour as the fin rather than looking fuzzy or cotton-like. The end of the dorsal fin has also become whitish, and the fin seems to be hanging/held differently than normal. I’ve also noticed that Lava frequently stays near the surface of the water. I came across a few posts where people described very similar growths”
“A few days ago, I noticed my juvenile swordtail seemed to have an anal prolapse. I isolated it and yesterday gave it an Epsom bath (half a teaspoon in abt 2l of water) and today i noticed this. What is it and how do I fix it? submitted by /u/uh-aight [link] [comments]”
“Noticed this guy's belly early this week and can't decide what to do. Thinking it could be an internal parasite. No new fish added in months. Tank is 48 gallons, heavily planted and has been running over a year. No ammonia or nitrite, nitrate between 5 and 10. What are your thoughts? I'm located in Canada so medication options are limited submitted by /u/NB25 [link] [comments]”
“6 neons, had them for over 6 months and never seen this before. Only other tank mates are harlequin rasboras. The coloration is fine on the fish just like the rest of them, the photo lighting makes him look paler than he is, so no change there. This happened overnight, had nothing yesterday. Looks really fluid filled like a blister submitted by /u/HugsNoKisses [link] [comments]”
“1 week ago my goldfish got this bulge on his head, and right next to him another one is growing, they are like bubbles, transparent, and I don’t know how to help him or what’s going on submitted by /u/madylunie [link] [comments]”
“This is one of 3 I got from someone on aquaswap, the other 2 look fine. This one has had this growth since I got him so i assumed it was an injury from the other tank or from transport or something. Figured I’d just keep an eye on him and see if it gets worse because it doesn’t seem to be affecting him, but I feel like it’s getting worse. Might be paranoid but I think it’s grown a little bit and it looks like a part busted in this video. Is there anything I can do for him or just keep watching?”
“What could this white bump be? Mr. Oto is the last one of his kind in my 35gal well planted community tank. No other fish shows sign of sickness, can't see anybody else with a similar white bump. I had this oto for over a year. Should I quarantine him? Should I treat the whole tank? submitted by /u/Rina-yah [link] [comments]”
“Hi, is this Beta fish sick or just extremely over wight. We had problems with high temperature in his akvarium, and he used to have tetra fish companions, but they disappeared. We don't know if it was the high temperature that killed them or if the Beta ate them. If he is sick, what can it be? submitted by /u/Dragons_Story [link] [comments]”
“Hi guys i just got these mollies a couple days ago and i was told they were both boys but this white one looks fucking HUGE and it's just a pooping machine which I heard is a sign of pregnancy . The part where I become confused on if im just crazy or not is because all of the mollies looked like this in the store, but they all couldn't have been pregnant? Im only asking because this molly is acting different from my other molly. If anyone thinks she(?) is sick, I may return because I don”
“Just after some advice please, my neon tetra that ive had for maybe 8 months (one of my older ones), has grown a bubble like growth on its mouth, i cant see any other of my fish with symptoms, it also seems to be struggling swimming, its isolated at the moment, ive read it could be cotton mouth, but before I try treat has anyone had before Temp- 24 degrees C Ammonia- 0ppm Nitrates- 5ppm Nitrites- 0ppm submitted by /u/broggy24 [link] [comments]”

“Little background this is Shadow and he’s about a year old, I got him right after one of my cats passed away last year. He’s in a 5 gallon planted tank, temp is constantly at 80°F and parameters are good (I test weekly). He’s got a bunch of shrimp friends (sometimes snacks) and he is a little chunkier than I’d like but it’s not horribly so. I noticed he had a bump under his head a few weeks ago so I treated him in a bucket with some Paraguard to be safe and it’s just slowly gotten bigger since t”

“A few days ago, we lost a rosy barb from our original group in our first tank five years ago. Just one from the original school is left. I bought him four friends, because he was appearing agitated, glass surfing etc, I assume from being alone. He seemed interested, hanging around the bag while they acclimatised. They schooled together for a short time but now, two days later, he's separate and back to his glass surfing behaviour. The tank parameters are ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 20, pH”
“just showed up on her chin (?) the other day. she seems fine and healthy, parameters are perfect, no noticeable differences in other tank mates behavior, and everyone gets along well. is it just a little booboo or something? haven't seen it before. could be nothing but i have no idea submitted by /u/Commercial-Yoghurt95 [link] [comments]”
“My dear Betta is showing signs of dropsy, still moves around, and has an appetite but is worried he's constipated since there are no usual brown poo sacs. There are almost clear a bit white stringies in the water, some said that's the poo and it's internal intestine issues. I've been fasting him for 2 days since I thought it was constipation and did a epsom salt bath yesterday. Do I still feed him? And if so what instead of pellets Do i do a full tank change to get rid of the stu”
“My mom befriended our new neighbor that has this goldfish with a tumor, my mom told the neighbor I will happily care for their fish and now its in my room! I didnt want this fish and dont know what im doing, it's tank looks kinda gross and small I tried to scrape away some algae, theres a filter but its not very strong and i looked up the brand its from some cheap chain pet store. Ive been doing research and got aquarium salt, stress coat, dechlorinator and did my best at a water change but”
“It’s hard to see in the pictures because bone broth did not want to show me his left side, but there is a bumpy spot on his side with some raised scales. I’ve never had experience with fish tumors or anything of the sort before, so I’m wondering if anyone knows if this is one, and what I should do. submitted by /u/toadsterrr [link] [comments]”
“Hello there, looking for some advice regarding our Congo Tetra (appropriately named lippy) He has had a lump in his lip not long after buying him, he’s been in the tank now for 4 weeks (we cycled for two, have had a few problems with Ammonia and nitrite spikes but we are just about thru it now) Lippys lump on his lip WAS white (see first photo taken 15/08) we isolated him but was told to put him back in tank. He’s very happy in himself, can’t see any damage to fins, seems to be eating, swimming”
“The fish is not mine, saw it in a store; they said it's not available to purchase. They couldn't really pinpoint what it was. The growth is perfectly symmetrical and quite white, the fish seems healthy and I couldn't see other symptoms other than the "bubble" submitted by /u/nostradarius [link] [comments]”

“I carefully outweighed the benefit of getting Hewbie back home sooner rather than later. I can continue the final 2 days of meds in his tank. He is doing zoomies around the tank! I’m confident I ended up making the right decision.🐡☺️ Quarantine was really starting to stress him out too much and so was the declining water quality of having a 12 inch fish in around a 15 gallon tote. submitted by /u/AydenLincoln [link] [comments]”
“I have two rainbow shiners in a 40 gal; started with six but when I went to transfer them to an outdoor 200gal these two evaded the net: I CANNOT seem to catch them without tearing the whole tank up. So, they live here now. A week or so ago the first one started getting rounder, while the other stayed the same. They still have a good appetite, they’re still moving around plenty, behaving like normal. There are no external signs of injury or illness, and they’ve been fed the dame diet of Fluval B”
