“What would be the ultimate consumable/chemical list? I have essential tools like a power washer, air compressor, DA, buckets, interior/exterior/wheel brush’s, drills with every attachment, and microfibers etc I’m curious about what chemicals you’d have in a dream list, money obviously matters, but I’m interested in all price ranges, and I know with detailing it’s really not a game of higher price, better product. From a full strip wash/decontamination, to polish/correcting, coating and then main”
“Hi! I have an nd miata in soul red with the soft top and bbs/brembos. I just got full front ppf+ceramic coating and i’m looking to put together a detailing kit for it. very new to this world but so far i have soap, quick detailer, tyre dressing, a couple microfiber towels and applicators, a wash mit and a drying towel on the way. I figure i’ll need to get a pressure washer, wheel brushes and a foam cannon but im not sure and if so from where. is there anything im misding or ways i can simplify t”
“For car detailing! My bad I meant to put in for car detailing the car windows [re: What’s everybody opinions and thoughts on the double sided magnetic windshield cleaner thingy??]”
“(Picture of my new Lincoln mkz reserve 2018 3.Ot) looking for recommendations on your favorite car wash products, wax, polish, sealant, wheel cleaner, etc. i want to know your ENTIRE routine. I am going for a wet car look but I am a newb and there is so much products out there and am just curious on everyone's preferences. I am not going to do clay (I might take it in for a detail and do that after winter) but if you use that feel free to add that in :) I think I found a hobby I genuinely am”
You can get a wet coat concentrate which is a lot cheaper
“I really like this stuff, but it is too expensive: nextzett 92470515 Cockpit Premium Interior and Dashboard Cleaner, 16.9 fl oz I use it everywhere except the passenger seat, which gets 303 to make it slippery.”
“I’m only going to be honest based on my experience. I bought Leno’s garage on a whim and it’s surprisingly a solid product. I can’t speak for all of it but the leather conditioner and bug & tar remover have been solid.”
“I like to detail my own car, it's a 2026 C8 Z06! I used to have people come to my house and detail it for $60. I broke my right shoulder blade during the early learning stage of my motorcycle riding journey so of course for the next few months following that I had to pay to have people come to detail my car. Well that's over with now so here is my little setup I have put together. What else should I get to keep my V8 monster looking its best? I know I need to get clay bars to help apply”
“I've been following this sub for awhile and it got me into detailing my own car. I recently just bought a 2026 Accord Hybrid Sport and it has fully cloth seats. My 2022 Altima SR had leather so I would just just Pink Perfection to clean my seats and then follow by Superior Products for the plastics (forgot what it's called, it's green). I'm trying to figure out the best product and method for maintaining my seats. No deep stains. I do have P&S Carpet Bomber and the P&S Fi”
“You don’t want to condition these of you can help it, I like shine supply leather and interior cleaner. It keeps them looking nice with a satin finish without being slippery”
“What the is best product for new car black plastic trim. I'm a little thrown with products listed as a "restorer". I mean I've used several excellent products to darken faded trim but I'm looking for something just for UV protection if that exists. submitted by /u/Asleep-Schedule9940 [link] [comments]”
“Used 303 protectant (amongst other detailing products) on vinyl, plastic, pleather, and bedliner coated products for our indoor and outdoor displays at an aftermarket auto shop. That stuff is the truth. It held up like crazy in the blasting sun on a 6 lane commute road in an industrial part of town. Easiest product to sell because it goes on with no real effort and lasts like crazy. I always wondered when 303 would jack up the price or dilute the formula. I haven’t bought a bottle in five years,”
“Hello everyone, I was just wondering what’s a good product to use to clean screens on an interior like the gauge cluster or infotainment screen, as when I use normal glass cleaner it always leaves a streaky mess. Thanks submitted by /u/Icy-Violinist7764 [link] [comments]”
“In the game of keeping our cars cleaned and maintaining you can spend a lot or a little. What’s your budget and I’ll be happy to provide some direction”
“This is my first black colour car. Pls help me buy products, and clothes to clean my car’s interior and exterior. How many clothes should I keep and what type of gsm should be used in which places? Also, pls mention any cleaning products to clean areas that has bird drop and other dirt. submitted by /u/Haunting-Setting-168 [link] [comments]”
“I’m curious from a mechanic’s perspective: how do you usually advise customers to keep track of maintenance between service visits? I’m thinking about things that are easy for owners to forget, such as: Oil and filter changes Brake inspections Battery checks Air/cabin filter replacement Coolant checks Other periodic maintenance A lot of owners remember the major service, but may not remember when they last performed a smaller maintenance task or when it needs to be done again . I’ve actually bee”
“Hey all! I detailed for several years a while ago before moving on to a different career. I recently got a nicer car that I’d like to take care of and I’m curious as to changes and advancements in products and techniques since I’ve been gone. I’m looking for recommendations on products and best care for someone who lives in an apartment complex. There is a covered dual car wash bay I can use, luckily. This is also my first black car so wondering if I need to treat it any differently. I don’t hav”
“My current bottle of tire dress and interior quick detail are about to finish, and want to condense the products i leave around. Current mainstay BH Touchless Mckee 914 Rinseless KCX Glass cleaner KCX Pol Star for all interior clean And I’m looking to get something multipurpose for tires, and interior dressing and possibly also engine bay tho that’s not something i pay too much attention to. Easy to apply without needing to wait 15 minutes to wipe off. Does Carpro Perl do well for all these? And”

“Id like to start detailing and to start off, i have a bit of outside stuff (wash mitt, buckets, wheel/tire brushes, clay bars) and i have a general idea of what i should need for the outside part. For some background, im still in highschool, and i have a daily car that i want to make money so i can repair and upgrade it to my desire (Z32 300zx specifically) and id like to target detailing as that side hustle so i can afford upgrades and maintenance and start fixing some stuff up. I have a okay s”
Fine Detailing. Went into their store front and purchased. Their awesome.
That’s great! Nothing like having a car you love and keep clean
“So I have 4 slim detail co ceramic coatings (great deal 29.99 and I had to get free shipping so needed 4) and one gtech combo… did I mention we only have 3 cars in our household lol. That is definition of Stu k in rabbit hole and damn you I need to get free shipping trap”
“I'm a big fan of Gyeon products, especially Wet Coat. That alone always makes my car look incredibly glossy and it beads like crazy.”
“Is it a small dealership or a major one like a Ford dealer? The larger dealerships care more about getting the car in and out rather than actually detailing it because they have a lot of volume. You'll probably run it through a tunnel wash and give it a quick wipe down and vacuum and send it on its way. You also won't be making the same money you would make if you were detailing for yourself or even another company. Some of these places want to pay you $14/hr and work you all day.”
“Hey everyone just as the title says! Whatever it is related to detailing! I ask because I like products I can stretch. I'll start by saying my current favorite is luminus Mint shampoo!! And wheely clean but the 2x industrial concentrate. (Yes I know he's a complete dbag) submitted by /u/DIYorHireMonkeys [link] [comments]”
“Carpro reflect and orange CCs HDO da pad. Zero cut but full gloss - you don’t want to cut a new car anyway. If it’s bad, uro fibre pad with 3d one or ps rehab.”
“Interesting. Hadn't thought of HyperSeal for interior. How long on leather seats and steering wheel?”

“Hello everyone, I picked up my brand new Model Y Performance yesterday, and I am loving it. But the dealership was almost 4 hours from where I live. Which means the front bumper is already covered in bugs on day #2 :( I stopped into AutoZone and was overwhelmed by the number of products and choices. So naturally I came to Reddit and went down the "car detailing" rabbit hole. Needless to say, while I am more educated, I am also more overwhelmed haha. I live in a townhouse with a garage”
“Jeez I wish we had ONR here in SA. Seems like such a versatile product. Im a big fan of gyeon. Specifically wet coat and tyre express as they're so easy to apply.”
“Mequiar’s PlastX for getting rid of fine scratches on the plastic shield over the instrument cluster.”
“honda has the shittiest leather, steering wheels get torn with finger nails, the whole leather surface of the seat bolster in mine was worn away after a couple of years. whatever they're doing, it needs to be done better.”
“It works really well if you have multiple cars too. I clean mine and my wife's car on the same schedule. So I only have to get out the tools and products needed for whatever I'm doing one time.”
“Hey man, RSX owner here. The headliners arent too bad to clean up. Just a damp rag usually or very diluted APC Dont give up on the seats if you arent swapping or repairing soon. Keep them clean and moisturized. Try to rig something on the drivers seat for your booty. Youll be wearing that foam tf out and carry flakes on your ass lmao.”
“Hey yall, I got this 2006 Acura RSX Type S that I'm trying to detail inside. Its leather is so delicate and is notorious for it breaking/cracking throughout the years. I haven't detailed its interior since I first got it. There are prominent stains on the headliner and white streak on the passenger side doors plastic that is hard to get off. What detailing products would yall recommend to tackle this old Acura project? submitted by /u/badc_27 [link] [comments]”
Which colour cars are the best for not showing light scratches?
“Use the Curveball Detail Brush. Absolutely best way to apply to knobby truck tires”
“P&S and Carpro. I started with P&S and just finish with Carpro for that showroom looks”
“I corrected my wife’s F33 with 3D One on Rupes D-A Fine pads (yellow) using a Beast. Came out amazing and I think that’d be a good place to start. Good luck.”
“All of them in my honest opinion are excellent. I mostly use Meguiars for all my cars”
My current go to is Meguiar's Gold Class, ONR and groits 3 in 1.
“ONR, TEC582, Aquagloss (or another tire shine) I couldn't have a nice clear car without black tires.”
“This except id probably go tec582 instead of d156 - and I say this has someone who loves d156 and went though many gallons fot my personal cars.”
“Ultimate polish (and compound for that matter) are great products. Use the junk ArmorAll on the fender liners. Useless for anything else”
“Whats the material and what are you driving? I dont have an answer but im super interested in the interior design and what the 123 numbers do.”
“Yeah. My car is pretty new and kept in a garage. Likely just use the quick detailer and protector stuff once in a while. Rarely, I’ll spiff up the engine before Caffeine & Octane.”
