“Rigid with the car detail vacuum accessory kit is always a solid combo. The box style ones are really sturdy, can even sit or stand on them in a pinch.”

“Unless you got a can it's a huge machine to haul around for mobile detailing. Would be very surprised if you use it often enough to need it. An extractor head on your shop vac will be all you'll need.”

Auto detailers are frequently encountering water spot issues during the detailing process, despite efforts to move quickly and maintain cleanliness. They're also questioning the value of extractors versus shop vacuums for extraction purposes and seeking advice on equipment choices like reverse osmosis systems.

“Rigid is just so damn good for the price. Also, they sell a “detailing accessory” kit for like $40-$50 that comes with a new hose and like 5-6 different attachments for detailing”

“Getting into professional detailing and was wondering if a steamer is reasonable? If so what do y'all use it for I have seen multiple detailers use it but no clue what for. Another thing what is a good degreaser y'all use preferably from AutoZone or napa. Last thing how long does a full detail take y'all? submitted by /u/d3poblaster08 [link] [comments]”

Brush and a vacuum?

Do u have any preference as to which towels to soak and for drying. rn cant seem to decide on the right ones. I have a general idea that i could use costco or edgeless towels but can't make up my mind. And what would u suggest for drying towels?”

“Hey everyone, I’m setting up a mobile maintenance service in office basement carparks (no water tap, no power). Volume: ~30 cars per 6-hour shift (daily drivers with light dust/water spots). Constraints: Must be streak-free, paint-safe, and zero water on carpark floors. Current Plan ive been thinking: Battery pump sprayer pre-soak + Garry Dean Method (ONR/rinseless + 8-sided folded microfibers, never re-dipping a dirty towel). Questions: Is Garry Dean the fastest paint-safe method for this volum”

“Try a um…shop vac…seriously, it’s an actual brand and the one I have will suck the balls offa goat!”

“As others have said they aren't as powerful as a normal shop vac. I keep one around with no filter installed and use it exclusive for wet”

“I've been doing my own detailing for 10+ years, and check around online to see the latest tips and tricks. Especially with detailing youtubers, something has been bugging me: is nobody doing anything about the water runoff? When I detail my car, I go to a self-serve place where the wastewater goes to a treatment plant. My local city and utility are pretty explicit that they don't want people washing their cars in the driveway, if the wastewater runs straight into a storm drain. And then”

“I've been using the same Rigid for 8 years, now. The Shop-Vacs have never given me more than 3 years of service before burning up.”

“Initially looked for a spot cleaner and Bissell Little Green seems like the people's favorite. However, I don't have a shop vac and it is more powerful and seems versatile/general-purpose, essential for any home owner. As far as I can tell, shop vacs sucks better and therefore does a better job of cleaning--it just lacks builtin dispensing of cleaning solution that comes with extractor spot cleaners but this should be easily compensated with a spray bottle. Will a shop vac be able to do”

“It was an inference. You said blowers are effective regardless of a coating. That’s not true. A blower will have very minimal effect blowing water off a car with no coating.”

“You better have a good wax/sealant/coating on your vehicle to use any of these.”

“I have a Metro Vac Air Force Master Blaster. It does an outstanding job drying my car. https://preview.redd.it/hntz19j41nfh1.jpeg?width=5059&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=11a63071d37e2454447c803c712fad75bfbe1f50”

“I have the Ego it’s big and expensive but I already had it so… works great. Added the stubby nozzle. The Ryobi with the long tube for 120 is a good deal if you have batts”

r/AutoDetailingJul 26

“I use a regular 40v Ryobi blower which I chose because I already had the batteries. I learned that there are special focus heads that improve the ability to blow off water, which are an aftermarket purchase. Still works great but I’d imagine the focus head would help. At the end of the day you’re probably overthinking this, buy according to your budget and I’m sure you won’t be missing whatever 10% improvement a bunch of research and cross shopping will get you.”

“I recently got into mobile detailing and I bought this shop vac mostly for the convenience of it. I've done a few details now and vacuuming is by the far the most difficult part for me. This vac seems like a battery hog and imo I feel like it's underpowered. I struggle with cars that have sand and excessive dirt. I've watched tons of videos going over vacuuming technique which I've implemented, and I still feel lackluster. I'm starting to think it's just a underpowered va”

“I am looking for a mop for washing and, even better, a spinning head that would work for waxing. It needs to be <3” to fit between the roof rack and the roof. submitted by /u/FineDragonfruit5347 [link] [comments]”

“And that right there is why I never wash my car during the day unless it’s in the winter!”

“3-4 hours of work, it was a enjoyable time. Clay, polish, wax, roof protectant. Couldnt find my camera, had to use a crappy phone to take them. Saving up for reverse osmosis now, had to drive it to a self wash, drive it home and do the hard stuff. Her cars cooler than mine but I still get to drive it occasionally. https://preview.redd.it/5alrjas0u9dh1.jpg?width=5120&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2e323b161e5c074524d6d1da4b4d07eb61c41496 https://preview.redd.it/2mxnnbs0u9dh1.jpg?width=5120&a”

r/AutoDetailingJul 14

“Hello detailers. So I have a question since I see a lot of people here saying that a shop wet/dry vac is better for extraction than an actual extractor (in terms of value etc). I have this vac, but I don't know if it's powerful enough for it, even with the right attachments submitted by /u/Fit_Bobcat1843 [link] [comments]”
