“Having the exact same issue, just worse. A friend of mine is a specialist car painter and he told me the only way is to actually repaint it. I’m still not getting it done as prices are in the sky. [re: Is this paint too far gone?]”
“About as long as your local body shop says it’ll take and as much as they charge [re: How long and how much would this cost to fix? (Sorry couldn’t edit earlier post, had to repost)]”
“I got a buddy who can do it for 350 but it wouldn’t look good [re: How much would it be to fix this deep scratch on the doors?]”

“Hi. I found a small sent on A pillar. My question is if this can be reworked easy or not? I plan to sell the car and I do not really want to park the car somewhere for a week to have it done for 200 or 300€ (middle east Europe). What do you think? Is pulling out neccessary? “Stealerships around my area even like toyota and ford charges $300 an hour for labor now. Its pretty insane like do doctors even charge that much per hour? [re: This is paintable right? Or Am I crazy??]”
“For this same exact repair on my car it cost me about 5,500 dollars and i got so lucky that it was so cheap and didn’t include painting the new doors. I left them a different color. But removing and replacing b pillar, headliner, airbags, repainting b pillar and installing similar color side doors that all was included for 5,500. 1,500 of that was parts alone. And now it doesn’t run right from the crash. Worst mistake of my life repairing a crashed car. It now has to go to a shop to be fixed as”
“The part was $85 on my 2014 Grand caravan. Took me about 2 hours cause I've never opened up the door before. I'm assuming it would take a competent tech an hour of billable time. Depending on how much they upcharge for the part is how I got to $300. I didn't call anywhere cause it looked pretty straight forward and it was a Sunday when the window dropped and wouldn't go back up.”
“For $94.50 for 4.5 hr, is this worth it? I got this done at least 3 hrs. Does anyone know which time is for Mansfield area since I stay close by there. submitted by /u/BBOI_214 [link] [comments]”
“Is it “normal” for them to take over a month to get back to you with their inspection report?(indiana) Yes I have texted/called the adjuster asking for updates Yes I’ve called the customer service number and all they do is try to get a hold of the adjuster and if not his supervisor in which even his supervisor doesn’t call back/answer. Yea I have called again and the customer service rep called/did a internal message to the supervisor supervisor(boss) and immediately after that I got a call 5min”
Estimate says 13.9 hours of total labor hours. Not sure where you got 40.
“At least $4-5k$ in repairs, both doors need paint, prepped, primered and clear coated. The panels are dented too. Not to mention that it needs blending of panels as well.”
“Probably need new doors, paint matching... the most expensive part, i had some one side swipe me, estimate was 7k needed a new driver door, and buff or paint, on a 2019 corolla”
The non-reusable Door Appliques are likely on backorder again.
“That's what I was thinking too. I didn't think it would take this long so I got a rental car with the expectation that I would have my car back in a reasonable time but the completion date kept getting pushed back multiple times. I definitely should've asked to keep my car until the parts arrived (if that was the reason for the delay). Too late now since they said I would get my car this Friday. They're in the reassembly stage. Lesson learned for sure.”
