“My Zoey has her third eyelids visible a lot of times during the day. Should I be worried? I took her to the vet and she did a lot of tests and found nothing wrong. Zoey doesn't seem to be bothered too, her eyes aren't red, there is no discharge other than an ocasional bugger, she doesn't scratch them, nor over clean or seems to feel any discomfort. The vet told me to ask here on reddit, since she isn't an expert on the breed, Zoey is a Maine Coon, so that we could know if this is”

“Our lovely 3 year old BSH girl with no prior history of any problems developed a corneal perforation over the past month. Unfortunately the vets referred us to an eye specialist only today and we were devastated to know it was this serious. Is there hope with corneal graft? Or would we be making her more miserable? If we delay surgery, she’s going to lose her eye. I’m also hoping she magically recovers and the doctors are acting out of caution. Any advise from folks facing similar problems would”

His right eye is semi closed even when looking up, and it seems to be annoying or a bit painful, for he often keeps both of his eyes closed. “So my cat has very humanistic eyes for a feline. They don't shift in different lights like normal cats. She is female, born 3-30-25, fixed, she's a siamese ragdoll, weighs about 7.5lbs and we reside in the PNW. I've noticed this her entire life, there doesn't seem to be a reason to worry but im curious as to why this is. They are always circles and her pupils look like they spread out over the color in her eyes. She doesn't seem blind or affected by any loss of vision like Go”

Does anyone know what this might be? https://imgur.com/gallery/cat-s-eyes-jCyHN2Z I’m making an appointment tomorrow when the vet is open, but trying to prepare myself for what this might be. “Hello! Possibly a stupid question, but should I be worried that my cat has round pupils pretty much all the time? He's a little over 1.5 years old, seems to be in good health (eating and drinking normally, not lethargic, no limping, etc). But I've rarely seen him with slit pupils? I have witnessed them turn to slits in bright sunlight like normal, but otherwise its mostly round. Articles I've read have mentioned it being a symptom of an underlying condition, but because he seems heal”

“Woke up this morning to our baby boy with a super red eye and it looks like it’s swollen too, did he hurt himself? 😭 or has anyone seen this before? Would love advice on what to do for him he’s acting normal submitted by /u/Zuriwolf [link] [comments]”

“A couple of days ago, I noticed my cat was getting a lot more eye boogers than usual, but only from one eye. A little while later, he started squinting that eye. I did some research and thought it might be conjunctivitis, and I saw several places recommending chamomile tea as a home remedy. We’ve been gently cleaning his eye with chamomile tea about 3 times a day for the past two days. It does seem to have improved somewhat - I’d say it’s about 30% better. He can now open his eye almost complete”

“Hello! My cat Oliver’s 3rd eyelid has been showing for multiple months. I took him to two vets and neither knew what was causing it. I did have a fluorescein stain done and they said it wasn’t a corneal ulcer. They prescribed some antibiotics eyedrops which I gave him for the recommended time but I didn’t see any huge improvements. He doesn’t seem to be picking at it but he keeps the irritated eye squinted. Oliver is 20 years old so I get he’s going to have some problems but I just worry about h”

“I have a one month old kitten in a litter od 3 boys. He had eye infection in the second week after birth for 3 or 4 days and it resolved with me cleaning his eye with warm water. Now yesterday I noticed he has eye discharge and swollen eyes, I cleaned again and the swelling seems better and the discharge looks crusted now, no active discharge seen. “Came home from work and my 9 year old male Siamese cat's eyes looked like this. Bloody/rusty color drainage. No known injury. No squinting or any other symptoms. He is acting like normal. He is also UTD on all vaccines. Should I take him to an e-vet (closest is 1.5 hours away) or would it be ok to wait for his vet to open on Monday? “My cat was scratched in his cornea by his big bro while playing and it was swollen shut and looked pretty bad on Saturday. Fast forward now his eyes looking good and I’ve been giving him 3 diff eye drops and one pain medication orally. Do I have to keep giving him the oral medication ? “My cat has been lethargic, and lack of energy since Tuesday evening. I noticed on Wednesday that his inner eyes were a little inflamed and I thought maybe he had conjunctivitis. I made an appointment with the vet and the earliest I could get in was Friday, I noticed on Thursday that his eyes were looking better but he wasn’t moving from the couch or anywhere for the last two days. I saw him get up to use the litter box once but other than that, he just would not move from the couch. Long story s”

“Me and my partner just noticed that our little voids eyes seem quite cloudy. He is only 2 years old so we are unsure what could it be and all veterinarian clinics are closed for the weekend. Planning to order an appointment as soon I can but Im afraid it can be smth life threatening. “For the past few days my 6 y/o male cat has had slimy, reddish brown gunk around his eyes. It comes out in long ropes. He's not squinting, he can blink normally, and his energy levels and eating are the same. What's causing this gunk? I've talked to a vet about this and he recommended we try eye drops for the next few days, but my cat hasn't been letting me give him the drops more than once a day. submitted by /u/Then_Acanthaceae2337 [link] [comments]”

“I don’t know how useful this will be considering I can’t post images, but my cat seems to be acting just fine outside of the fact that I noticed she has som noticeable redness and pale red streaks on her other wise gold-yellow eyes. It’s not as extreme as most you’d see on google images, but definitely noticeable. She had gotten two separate scratches early in the year and late last year from fighting with our other cat. They healed just fine and no one noticed these streaks after. The other cat”

“For context: My dog was scratched by our cat on the face below her right eye, but the scratch did not directly hit her eye. Afterward, she developed a fever, and her right eye started to have a bluish or cloudy appearance that is now also affecting her left eye. Before she became sick, she would often lick my nasal mucus while I had a cold and fever that started last Tuesday; I recovered last night. I am concerned that her symptoms may be related either to the cat scratch or to her exposure to m”

“What is this dot on my cats eye? (Two photos linked here: link ) Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this. For a few months my four year old cat Cleopatra has had these spots on both of her eyes. The photo only clearly shows one eye but it’s almost identical on both. When you look at her eye from the side it looks like it’s on the ‘surface’ of the eye , not in the interior of the black. That’s why we’re wondering if it isn’t cataracts but ultimately we’re not sure. Thanks again! submitt”

“My cat has always had a bit of eye crusts and eye gunk. it's never been something I've been concerned about, it's never been swollen and she never squints, she also has yearly vet check ups and the vet has never been worried. This past few days she has had more of an amber liquid appear, in quite a large droplet. Anyone have any experience on what this could be and if I need to be concerned? “I have a 15 year old Japanese Chin with dry eye. At the beginning of August he got an infection in his left eye. The vet put him on Ofloxacin drops for 5 days in addition to his regular Optimmune ointment that he has twice a day. I took him to the Opthamologist on August 11th and she switched him to Moxifloxacin 3x a day for five days. After that was done she switched him from Optimmune to Tacrolimus twice a day. “Hi there, I have a sealpoint domestic medium hair cat who is 5 years old and neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He recently (about two days ago) started squinting a bit on one side. It went away, so I didn’t think it was a big deal, but it’s been swollen on and off now everyday for at least a little while. No discharge, no redness of the actual eye, no goop of any kind, just kind of pink swollen eyelids on his left eye. Is this something worthy of a vet visit or should it resolve itself? I’m”

“Hi everyone! I adopted a cat from the shelter about a month ago and after a week of being home he came down with cat flu. I got him meds and he recovered but about a week after the initial symptoms he started having a weird mark around his eye. The vet did some tests and didn’t find anything, they recommended to keep an eye on it and give him more medicine if it flares up. “About 5 years ago our cat got scratched by another cat on the eye. He had to get surgery, and he’s always had a small slightly foggy patch on the corner of that eye Lately he’s started getting eye discharge/crust. This has happened once before and went away on its own, but now i'm really worried since it has happened again. She is 18, soon to be 19, so i know it could be anything and am very upset. The reason i'm curious about it being rabies is because about 5 days ago my mom accidentally left her out iin the backyard too long (the cat likes to sleep out there in the day and evening), and i discovered h”

Shes still playing and running around acting like a crack head but I still wanted to check what was going on. I looked into her eye and saw what seems to be a little eye boogie. Its a small clear foggy spot on her eye that keeps moving around every time I check. The only reason why I dont think its a parasite is because it wasnt wiggling around.”

“I have a 7yo maine coon cat. I noticed his right eye was weeping today, and he sort of squints with it, i.e. while the left eye is fully open his right eye prefers being more closed.
