“2 days ago I brought my kittens to the vet because they had diahhrea after starting to wean. The doc gave them a shot of antiparasite, some weird paste thru the mouth and some vitamins. One of the kittens is fine in my opinion but the other still has diahhrea. I don’t understand why. They are both eating normally. They are around 5 weeks, eating kitten pates. 4-5 weeks old Only 250g but eating and active. They were left to die in a box by someone. Unfortunately not gaining much now. Refusing kit”

“A few days ago, I acquired a 9-month old intact female Boston Terrier pup through a common friend. Pup had never been seen by a vet prior. I took her first thing to our vet for a physical and vaccines. This was yesterday. Pup was found to have a moderate heart murmur (which was a heartbreak) but vet didn’t mention anything else immediately of concern. We talked about vaccine schedules and planning for a spay. Anywhoo. I had forgotten to ask the vet about a few spots of thinning hair on her upper”
“I have a three month old cavalier pup who had some of his routine shots this morning. I brought him home and with an hour of the shots he was agitated and had extreme facial swelling. It’s unusual, but allergic reactions can happen after any vaccine. My pup had anaphylaxis and could have stopped breathing if I hadn’t got him back to the vet in time! Such a scary drive. I just want to remind everybody to watch your pups after vaccines for four hours. I can’t imagine what could be if I had left hi”
“Hi we have a 15 year old female Westie and she has nasty looking skin infection , we took her to vet and they gave us antibiotic pill and spray that we used for 2 weeks. Things seem to get better and now it looks bad again. She hasn’t started to lick it yet, but any idea what this would be? It’s under her back left leg. Edit: she’s spayed, 14.5 lbs, recently switched her to wet dog food as she was losing a bunch of weight, issue started 2-4 months ago; link to photos submitted by /u/”
“My sister’s dog got into some cocoa powder earlier today and has already been to the vet, but my sister had to work so now I’m watching her. She was given subcutaneous shots and gabapentin as treatment and further instructions to monitor her. Is there anything specific to watch out for? She’s panting pretty hard which I’ve read is a typical reaction but I’m not sure if there’s a threshold of excessive panting I should be concerned about. submitted by /u/WellEllipsis [link] [com”
“My pup had his last parvo vaccination 3 weeks ago. On the same day, he was given a NexGard Spectra flea and worm tablet. Around that time, he also ate some rabbit poo. At 2 a.m. he developed bloody diarrhoea, followed by soft, mucus-covered stools. Another dog that ate the same rabbit poo also developed gastro, which resolved with antibiotics. I put my pup on boiled chicken, rice, and Pro-Kolin/Promax, and he seemed completely fine. However, when I reintroduced his kibble, his stools became very”
“So my poor 11-week-old old male labrador named Pablo has been itching an awful lot recently. Took him to the vets who indetifiied fleas. He was perspeciped some oral tablets and anti flea and soothing shampoo. This meant Mr Pablos first bath. All was going well with his bath, until he completely started freaking out, moving uncontrollable, making noises i never heard before, showing teeth which i never saw, it was as though he was being murdered, i was shocked but remained calm myself without ov”
“*not asking for health advice, just help for administering treatment prescribed by our vet!* Hi! Our JRT puppy got an eye infection and we were given antibiotic eye drops for her. She had to have an eyedrop at the vets and she was fine. The next two days we did 2 drops a day at home and again it was fine. Then this morning I tried to give them again and she turned round and bit me. I was really surprised and feel really bad. She continued to growl if I even had the bottle in my hand. I spent a g”
“Female Portuguese Water Dog, 3 months Hey all. I’m a bit worried. Yesterday we went to the vet, and they applied Advantix above her nose, and the rest on her body. The product started spreading towards her eyes, as I noticed the hair around them becoming oily. Since then, her eyes have become red, and she’s been pawing at them. She has no other symptoms. Obviously, I trusted the vet, but after searching online, I found that apparently you’re not supposed to apply the product on a puppy’s face. H”
“Hey all, my 4 female month old kitten woke me up this morning vomiting and hacking. I checked down her throat to make sure she wasn't choking on anything, and didn't see or feel anything, and for a bit afterwards, she was 100 percent normal. However, 20 minutes after, she started hacking again. She hasn't done it again since, but im worried and feeling paranoid. Is that common? Debating whether I need to call out of work and take her to the vet, or if im just being overly cautious. I”
“Advise on feeding bland diet for those on potassium bromide Hi what do you feed your dogs when they have upset tummys (diarrhea) when they are on potassium bromide as i know the salt/chloride levels play and important roll in how effective the medication is and it needs to be consistant . She has colitis now and again and normally do a bland diet for a couple of days and she recovers. Also is diarrhea a side effect to the potassium bromide has her body adjusts,Im worried our usual bland diet of”

“Hi, my cat died 4 days ago. This are the results of a blood tests he had done something around an hour before death. I believe his vet should know that he is in agony by those.. but they were talking about some cautious prognosis, which didn't sound like he could die 10 minutes after leaving clinic. 12 year old male european cat. Other symptoms: Liquid in pleura drained around 2-3 weeks ago. He was taking dehydrating meds since then. RTG 2,5 weeks later, last sunday, showed some kind of.. in”
“Hi! This is totally on me because due to all the stress somehow I convinced myself that the 13th is a Tuesday and I’d call the clinic on Monday. Anyways, obviously I only realised today that the 13th is on Monday and thats when my cat has a scheduled dental procedure, extraction due to resorption. One tooth will be extracted for sure but maybe more, based on the X-ray’s. My question is: how long before the surgery do I stop feeding her? I take her in at 8:30, not sure when exactly they will star”
“This feels like too much to read but it feels relevant. I'm sorry about that. I currently live in Europe but am originally from the USA. I moved in late summer 2025 with my spayed, female cat that was estimated at a year old when I took her in so now she's eight years old. She started peeing just outside of the litter box/on litter mats, on bath mats and door mats early on but I'm not sure when. This has spanned across two US states and here in Europe. In the first US home, I took he”
