“I have been away at college and recently was told about my cat developing a wound around his nose area. My mom stated that a foul smell was coming from a clear liquid that was coming out of his mouth. He was licking and constantly itching his nose area, causing a wound to open and bleed. She took him to the vet where they prescribed an antibiotic, and said that it seemed like he had been hit in the face. He is an indoor cat and is constantly around the family, someone would have noticed if this”

“Hi! My almost two year old black cat has started getting a kind of crust/scab on the top of her left ear. She is in good health. When the crust is away it looks red, almost bloody, but is not dripping. It has taken some of her hair with it (not a lot, maybe a few millimeters). I noticed it about a week ago and originally thought her sister was just nibbling on her, but it’s still there and looks a bit more red. Is there an ointment I should get for her? I’m wondering if it’s an infection or just”
“my boy kitty, about a year and half old, has got these scabs on his nose, and he looks like he’s hiccuping when he’s breathing. he’s purring while it’s happening too, but i’m worried he’s having issues. i’m terrified and can’t sleep worrying so much. he’s acting normal and eating and sleeping and playing as usual, but i’d love to know if he’s okay. i’m terrified. thank you in advance i have videos of it but it won’t let me upload. submitted by /u/Dry_Caterpillar2624 [link] [com”

“I noticed my cat has some bumps on his nose. My cat is 2 years old and neutered he may be a Turkish angora he has the features, but yeah I noticed them on Thursday and they haven’t gone away. They felt firm, I petted his nose and he stayed calm so I don’t think it hurts him. He dose go outside. pictures submitted by /u/No_Experience_7205 [link] [comments]”
“My cat has had a cut on his nose for 2-3 days now and has been acting strange since. The cut has since dried up and is now scabby and I have also noticed small amounts of what I believe is clear ptyalism on the sides of his lower lip. Should I take him to the vet sooner than later? Or even to the vet at all? He is a 3 year old indoor tabby (orange) cat submitted by /u/CheeseMan1227 [link] [comments]”
“4 year old female, spayed, came from the shelter 2 years ago. Currently in FL. She had tapeworms when we got her but we got that resolved quickly when I noticed it. No parasites came up at her annual exam 4 weeks ago. She’s been eating fine while I’ve been gone, not as socialized as usual, and I did have to move four weeks ago, so I was home for about two weeks and then gone for two weeks. She is also now living with two dogs which she hasn’t loved but we’ve kept them separate and she’s been act”
“My 5yo 9.5 lb DSH boy has had chronic URI since I fostered him as a baby, and has since been diagnosed chronic destructive rhinitis; and cultures have identified pseudomonas aeruginosa. He’s had MRIs, ct scans, countless rounds of antibiotics and steroids, and nasal flushes- as his vets have expected, his congestion always returns. After his most recent nasal flush he was diagnosed with a collapsing palate due to his constant congestion as well. At this point, his internist vet is recommending f”
“Hello, I have been catsitting my brother's cat for two weeks and half. During this time he's developed some lesions on the upper lips that the vet guesses are due to Eosinophilic Granuloma. Vet said we brought him at the right time before it got really serious, and since he's young we have good chances of him getting well without it reappearing. He's also possibly developed a cystitis, seeing I found a little trace of blood in the litter two days ago. He has been given antibiotic”
“Hi. I have included two pictures here ( https://imgur.com/a/9TgaEp9 ) For context: my cat (male 4 y/o) has dealt with eosinophilic granuloma complex basically since he was pushing a year old. He (thankfully) has a pretty mild case and will get reactions here and there, the course of action usually is to put him on steroids (2.5 mg prednisone) until it goes away and then take him off. Recently he has been having paw issues (which is new) and we’re trying to figure out what it is, environmental, l”

“Hello, As the title says, we've noticed a small black spot developing under our cat's nostril. It's black, smooth, and shiny. It doesn't seem to bother him at all - he's shown no signs of behaviour change or discomfort. Just wondering is it nothing, something to keep an eye on, or a trip to the vets? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you. He's a savannah cat, about 10 years old. No history of illnesses yet, thankfully. We're based in North Yorkshire, England. ”

“Hi everyone! I noticed a small area above my cat’s left nostril where the skin looks slightly redder and the fur seems thinner than usual. He had something very similar on the other side of his nose sometime in 2025. I took him to the vet back then, and I was given CLX Wipes to clean his nose and paws. I vaguely remember the vet mentioning a possible fungal infection, but I’m not 100% sure. The wipes contain chlorhexidine and climbazole, among other ingredients. He otherwise seems completely nor”
“So I visited my local vet a few months ago, told him that she has few bumps on her skin near her face and neck, he told me that she has fungus infectiod and thus told me to use an antifungal spray on her daily for a week and apply an antifungal shampoo every 2 days. She was feeling way better by doing this but fast forward a month from them, those bumps have been growing again and it's getting worse from last time as she keeps scratching them and making it ever severe. I will visit the vet a”
“- Zoey, 5 year old spayed female cat, shorthair, roughly 10lbs - Patch of dry skin in her wrist with what I thought was a cut that was bothering her - Patch of fur missing with red spots on her face - No other symptoms appetite, activity, or behavior wise. - She does have deteriorated bone in her wrist and is inflamed so she will be getting it amputated eventually. She also has asthma that flares with stress. - I noticed her wrist spot on 7/28 and her face spot 8/7 - no vet visit yet - Central/”
“We went to sleep as usual and put our cats in their "room" (something we have been doing for years). When I woke up this morning, one of my cats had this on their face and in the whiskers area. It seems to be two wounds. My other cat has nothing. What could have caused that? My two cats do play fight, but my other cat is quite smaller so I am not sure she could have done such damage. The room is kitty-proof and I double-checked this morning and no sharp object or anything unusual was l”
“She is a young cat, just over a year old and I noticed this scratch on her face. She got them on her back a few weeks ago but after giving her flea medicine they healed but I am assuming them healing and the flea medication might not be correlated photo • Species: shorthair/tortoiseshell • Age: 1 year • Sex/Neuter status: female, neutered • Breed: shorthair • Body weight: average • History: none • Duration: a few weeks • Your general location: New York submitted by /u/Hairy-E”

“My cat started getting blackheads a month ago after I used a plastic bowl. I switched 2 days later to metal and ceramic. Since then, her blackheads go back and forth on how bad they are. I’ve just been using a warm compress and gently wiping. I took her to the vet and he said to use an ear cleaner for pets bc it helps with acne. I haven’t gotten it yet, because I’m worried about using anything on her skin. In the past week she’s grown 4 bald-ish patches. submitted by /u/leavemealonet”
“My cat has chronic itching - without any visible skin issues. Over the years, I have tried giving my cat Zyrtec, switching him to hydrolyzed protein, and switching him to lightly cooked/freeze dried raw food. None of these solutions have worked. (note to moderators: not asking for advice on the raw food). The only thing that has helped is prednisolone and gabapentin. I unfortunately had to euthanize my other cat about a month ago after losing her to cancer. A week or so later, my current cat sta”
“My orange and white cat has been having some skin issues which initially was thought to be a hotspot. We treated with an antibiotic shot and some anti-inflammatory meds however he has developed new sores on his chest. He also has a ton of decent size scabs under his neck and jaw . My vet is now recommending a royal Canin rx rabbit food . My issue is I honestly just can’t afford it. And to boo I would need to put both my cats on it because they are gravity fed even though only one has a skin issu”

“I noticed about a week ago that my cat had a bump on her chin. It started small, like a pimple, but it kept growing and getting worse. Turned into like a big ball of black crust. I held a damp cloth on the wound until all the black crust fell off, then I cleaned out the wound and i'm currently applying antibiotics. The thing is- I looked up chin acne on cats and I don't see any pictures that look as severe or deep as hers, so I'm not sure if it's even acne or something else. She”
“Hello. My cat had a little scar under his nose a few days ago. He was acting fine. Next day scar got worse, i cleaned it with chlorhexidine. Next day she had a lump in his throat at left, scar got worse and he had lethargy. We took him to vet yesterday , he had high temperature. Vet gave him antibiotics yesterday morning and told us to give him for 5 days. Yesterday all day he didn't eat but at night ate a little. This morning and evening ate very little. He touches water but drinks very ver”
“Hi everyone, I want to ask about this black spot which has appeared on my cat’s nose. It started appearing gradually in March and back then I noticed the slightly darker spot but assumed it was just dirt from his food or him sniffing around places, and we thought it’ll eventually go away after a few wipes. It didn’t really get bigger in size but it does seem abit darker and today i took a closer look and realised it’s not something stuck to his fur, but rather something growing there as there’s”
“I have a black male short haired indoor cat, about 6 years old at 9.7 lbs, and recently I haven't had time to get him to the vet to get his yearly vaccinations. Although, today I saw this sort of rash around his eye and was wondering if maybe if it has something to do with his missing vaccines or something else entirely. I already have a schedule to take him to the vet this coming week but I want to know if this is an urgent matter that needs my concern. cat pics submitted by /u/”
“https://imgur.com/a/aZgMmYw My mom’s cat, Gus, has developed circular scabs all across the bridge of his nose, with some traveling close to his eyes and lower nose. The scabs get crusty and fall off, and they leave a bald patch once healed. He doesn’t seem bothered by them but when he washes his face with his paws they will come off and bleed. No oozing of the scabs, they are dry. He had the same problem last summer, but they went away in the fall. This year just one or two came back in late spr”
