“My cat just had her second surgery which was a hernia repair from what the vet stated. Now there is a larger lump at her left groin area. Is this normal after hernia surgery and with healing? She is 10 yr old cat, female and spayed, 12 lbs. She is eating fine, getting around…”

It's soft, feels like a fluid build up underneath. He's eating well, going to the bathroom, doesn't seem to be in pain. The incision site looks ok as well. The vet isn't working today, I'll call them in the morning to bring him in. Does anyone know what the cause could be for this or have”
“Hi all- long story short my 1.5 year tabby ate a few hair ties and went in for a enterotomy about 5 days ago. His incision to me looks better than it did a couple days ago. Its definitely less red. I just want to make sure the crustiness is normal? It’s just slightly gross looking but no weird smell or discharge. He is acting normal and peeing/pooping as per usual. Hes on gabapentin q8h so he’s slightly sedated which gives me some anxiety because I hope it’s not masking anything else. Thanks! Da”
“On Thursday, my cat had a thoracotomy to have a mass removed from her mediastinum. Surgery went okay and thankfully the surgeon was able to remove the entire mass which he sent to analyse. Three days later, my lovely cat was able to poop. But now, i'ts been three days/ almost four since the last time she went to the litter box and she hasn't pooped since. She is on a diet of wet food mostly, which I have her meds mixed inside; I also give her dry food. She is not drinking as much water a”
“I got this fantastic little girl, Midna, from my local animal shelter on Sunday. She had just been spayed 2 days prior to when I adopted her. When I got her home I noticed that she had a little lump on her belly about an inch or so below the incision spot from her surgery. It doesn't seem to bother her, has been seemingly getting better over the last 4 days, and doesn't seem warm or sensitive to the touch. It's about the size of a dime. I have a good picture of it, but this subreddit”
“My 9 month old cat has this huge bruise with some swelling over her upper and lower site of the incision. Initially after spaying only the lower site has some mild bluish like bruise which i first thought was the color of the disinfectant/iodine. She was spayed on 8/9/2026. We noticed she wasnt doing well on 13/9/2026, and by this time she has the bruise+swelling over both upper and lower incision site but not where the incision is. She suddenly stopped eating and was less active. So we went to”
“Hi! My 5 month old DSH kitten was just spayed last Wednesday. 2 days ago I noticed a lump under her incision and took her back for a recheck. The vet says it’s a seroma but I have felt seromas and this doesn’t feel like they did. It’s very firm. The lump only shows when she is laying on her back, otherwise completely vanishes. The vet did an x-ray and said no intestines past abdominal wall, but if she wasn’t on her back for the x-ray, I’m worried they just missed that it is actually a hernia. Is”
“She had to have surgery because she had a MCT tumor near the base of her ear. Tomorrow the vet will call to check up on her. But in the meantime I keep looking at the wound and thinking "that doesnt look like the proceedure we agreed on". The reason is there is a notable bump where her ear used to be which moves when she tries to twitch her ear. I thought he was going to take the whole ear and sew it closed over it so it would be smooth, but it loooks like he left cartillage behind. Th”
