“Hi! My cat needs to take some pills, and he used to take them easily with Churu. However, he's now on Hill's c/d prescription urinary food, so I'm not sure what I can use to give him his pills anymore. Does anyone have any recommendations…”

My box of churus isnt getting here til tomorrow, and im fresh out! My roommate has a 3 month old kitten, and has the lil tiki cat kitten tube treats. Shes ok if i use them, but also that a cat she knows ate a lil kitten food and had kidney issues from it. My old lady just got senior labwork done and the vet”

“I’m looking for some advice about my 6yo male cat. He has a history of urinary blockage at 2yo, so he has been on Hill’s c/d prescription diet for the past 4 years. Currently, we give him 1/4 cup of the dry food in the morning and 1/2 can of wet in the evening. I’m noticing with the wet food, he eats it so fast that 9 times out of 10, it comes back up again within 5-10 minutes of eating. We tried switching to a slow feeding bowl which made little difference. He has already been evaluated twice b”

“I need help with my male cat’s prescription diet. He is currently on a catheter and has been eating Royal Canin Urinary Care. His catheter will be removed by the vet tomorrow, and I bought a bundle of Royal Canin S/O, which will be delivered tomorrow. Is there any other food that can be cooked for him? Are there any homemade foods you would recommend that could help dissolve his crystals? Species: Cat Age: 1&5months Sex/Neuter status:male Breed: Persian Bigbone Body weight: 4kg History: just”

Vet said super early catch for both conditions and they’re not overly concerned as long as they’re both being treated. Issue is, his hyperthyroid diet is the only food he’s allowed to be on since it’s iodine free. He’s allergic to thyroid meds so can’t go that route. The kidney meds are powdered, taste like shit,”

“At work I found dog treats, it says the only ingredient is chicken, but I was wondering if there’s anything hidden ingredients that wasn’t listed that would be dangerous for my cats to consume? “My cat had a urinary blockage last week, he was given a catheter & kept at the hospital for 36 hours. They sent us home with 3 cans of Royal Canin urinary SO & some urinary SO dry food. I've ordered a box of the cans & dry food on Chewy, but it's taking so long to come in. I even got 2 more emergency cans of food from my regular vet (2 cans was all they had), but my order is still not delivered yet. He's now almost out of wet & dry food and the order won't come in”

“Help! Bengal, 4yrs, 4.2kg, FHV: I’ve been giving her tuna within her biuscits as an evening meal, sometimes a full tin (water) and most the time half a tin. Her feline herpes has started flaring up and I’ve just researched on the off chance it may be something to do with the tuna. EVERYONE says do NOT feed your cat more than a treat size every now and then. I am freaking out! I took her to the vets the other day to have her examined but didn’t mention this. The cat is walking normally, eating an”

“A few months ago, I lost my 10-year-old male cat, Leo, to kidney disease. I recently started nannying and still am, so I live with the family for three and a half days each week. The first weekend I was away, I came home to find that he had passed away. Ever since then, I've had constant anxiety that my other cat, Morticia, will suffer the same fate, even though she doesn't show any of the signs Leo did. I also know kidney disease is more common in male cats than females. Right now, Mort”

“Hello! I’m seeking advice regarding my cat’s diet. After his PU surgery in March, he has been on a prescription urinary care diet (he was given both wet and hard food. Hills c/d). However, he stopped eating the wet food, and will only eat dry. He does drink some water independently, but we worry that it’s not enough. Our vet has said that it’s okay if all he will eat is the hard food. However, my s/o concerned and is wanting try other (non-prescription) wet foods to ensure that he is getting eno”

“TLDR: 11 year old cat with asthma, arthritis in front of elbow, and gingivitis has been recommended omega 3, but she’s so picky. How can I help her? Hi! I just took my family’s 11 year old (presumably) tabby cat to the vet because it was time for her yearly (my family really didn’t take her and her brother to the vet consistently… usually whenever there’s a concern). This time last year, she was diagnosed with asthma. While her symptoms seem less now, vet said her lungs were crackly and said we”

“This might be a stupid question, cat doesn't seem to like RC Renal/Renal Special. “Jack is a six year old neutered male orange cat, 10 pounds. He has had two urinary blockages and is strictly on hill’s prescription diet C/D. He receives no treats of any kind. “We have 3 cats in the house; normally I’m responsible for feeding them, but this morning my little sister did instead. We normally feed them a mix of dry+ wet, or dry + a little bit of (plain, canned) tuna. When I came back this morning, I found out that when my sister couldn’t find the wet food, she used a packet of Sunkist garlic herb tuna she found in the pantry instead. In total it was about 2/3 of a packet split 3 ways. Is this enough to call the vet ASAP??? all three cats are 13-15 lbs, an”

“My dog was diagnosed with very early stages of kidney disease. I was recommended that we give him hills science diet k/d of Purina NF….but also he is a big ole Boy (Malamute) and I am going to spend aaloottttt of money on those diets fast. If it’s what I need to do, then I will make it work financially….but I was wondering what other diets are recommended out there? I also read just focusing on low phosphorus diet and then changing up proteins is important. Any suggestions would be wonderful tha”

“Hi everyone, I would really appreciate your advice on how to make this difficult decision. My dog was diagnosed with TCC on July 3rd. he is very shy and sensitive. We recently found a few radiation oncology options for my boy, and I’m trying to figure out which one would be the best fit for him. We live in the SF Bay Area CA Our current options are: 1️⃣VCA West Los Angeles — we can schedule a consultation next week and may be able to start treatment sooner. We have not had the consultation yet,”

“15.5 year old indoor only male tabby, I’ve had him his entire life. Wet food only diet, Royal Canin renal food. Preexisting conditions, all monitored and managed: -HCM (very mild, at his last EKG the vet was not concerned this would impact him before the kidneys did) -high blood pressure -CKD (stage 2 last he was screened) -chronic pancreatitis as a result of IBD He takes 2.5 mg amlodipine to control BP, gabapentin for comfort, and Mirataz as needed to stimulate appetite(usually give this every”

“While I was applying nexguard to my cats neck he jerked his head and some of the oil splashed onto the fur on his side. I wiped off as much as I could with a pet wipe, and then used a soapy paper towel, and then used a wet paper towel to get off the soap. Is that enough? He licked off all the water from the paper towel and I am worried he ingested some submitted by /u/orilch [link] [comments]”

“My fully indoor 5yro cat has had a few weird symptoms over the past week. I caught her scooting on carpeted areas twice in the span of 3 days, which she has never done before. She also vomited up food with two large hairballs about 4 days ago, and this morning she vomited up food again. I suspect she had diarrhea once about 5 days ago, but other than that her stool seems to be normal, and no signs of parasites in the stool or vomit. I have heard her meow while using her litter box a few times, b”

“Hi all. My 12yr cat tore his LH CCL. Vet confirmed complete tear and offered two options; 1. Excap repair. 2. Conservative management (8 weeks crate rest). He did advise that chances of recovery without surgery for a complete tear are very low. I've read every article I can find regarding CCL tears in cats and opinions seem to be very 50/50 on if cats with a complete tear can heal without the surgery, and many studies lean towards advising against doing the surgery at all...Does anyone have”

“I have a 5 year old female cat and recently found an orphaned newborn kitten that I was bottle feeding. I live in a studio apartment, and was struggling to keep them separate after a few weeks. ( my older cat hates other cats, so she would stay away on her own… she was also a orphaned bottle baby I found ) This kitten had eye goop but had a smaller eye or squinted one eye specifically, I thought it was due to a scratch or something in it. I took her to a vet where they did fecal, deworm, flea an”
