“Yeah it seems to just follow some internal logic to each bank, cuz it's not all that consistent even with the same bank and different card products. It's definitely annoying when you need to meet SUBs and the card isn't here when you have certain purchases coming up that would…”
“I'm still perplexed at how this is so difficult for them. US bank is the 5th largest US bank yet this is something that they just can't seem to get a handle on. It would be one thing if setting up transfer partners was difficult, but we've seen fintech startups like bilt, rove…”
“I can't believe it, US Bank is a transfer partner bank now. US Bank. Ethiopian Sheba Rewards just got US Bank on the transfer partner map.”
Users express mixed reactions to US Bank launching transfer partners, with some finding the selection limited or unimpressive. Several users had already cancelled their cards or expressed skepticism about the value of the new partnerships.

“It looks like US Bank has announced transfer partners for the USBAR. Of course as they’re incompetent, they didn't send out an email notification, so I'm not sure when this went live. Does anyone know when they announced this? Here’s what I see: 1:1 Flying…”
“How is the card "useless" if you use Tap to pay it gives you 3% back on every purchase using Samsung Pay. 3% back on every single purchase (at least until it's nerfed). I absolutely love this card for the majority of my spend and already earned the initial $200 cash back. I'd it perfect No but compared to 95% of the competition it's excellent. With the obvious caveat you are a Samsung phone user.”
“I'm still surprised that Kroger/USB were apparently unable to find anyone willing to do a portfolio transfer, or a new bank partner. The 5% on mobile wallet (even capped) was insane though. I'm wondering if Kroger/USB tried to shop the portfolio, didn't get any bites (or at least reasonable ones), and then threw in the towel figuring it would be better to not offer a new cobrand with inferior rewards in proximity of discontinuation of the old card and recent memories knowing it's”
“Which card gets you 3% on everything else ? The apple one seems like it's on select merchants.”
“absolutely not /kəmˈpedədiv/ in USA for redditors [ that is somebody who can do at least a basic research what rates one can get on cash and what cashback CCs are out there ] ... the same goes for wire transfers ...”
“That used to be effective, but these days I am finding most banks don't have US reps or have no way to transfer you to them. There clearly are plenty of English-speaking people overseas though because every single person I talk to at AmEx is clearly outside the US and yet they speak/understand English just fine. I guess it's just cheaper to contract the firms that hire anyone with a pulse.”
“Yeah it seems to just follow some internal logic to each bank, cuz it's not all that consistent even with the same bank and different card products. It's definitely annoying when you need to meet SUBs and the card isn't here when you have certain purchases coming up that would help.”
“Yup this. Those knuckle busting manual machine are boat anchors. I threw mine out years ago.”
“All the domestics have exclusive partnerships with other banks. Thats not gonna happen.”
“US Bank finally clarifies the situation with their transfer partners . Please check out the article. Hopefully it'll get better soon. Getting 3x points for mobile wallet spend on the Altitude Reserve is sweet though submitted by /u/defawnyaniko [link] [comments]”
“As long as Flying Blue is an option, that’s a win. But I am surprised that “U.S” Bank doesn’t have any domestic partners. I would assume that many folks who bank with U.S. Bank are typically flying domestically. The international flyers are all on the Chase UR points game.”
“I'm still perplexed at how this is so difficult for them. US bank is the 5th largest US bank yet this is something that they just can't seem to get a handle on. It would be one thing if setting up transfer partners was difficult, but we've seen fintech startups like bilt, rove, and even the discontinued Mesa card able to set up transfer partners. Despite their size, US bank just seems perpetually stuck in the stone ages.”
“Wow. Not a single domestic partner without exploiting codeshares? That’s just unreal. This would be like finding out Amex’s Resy credit now only applies to Long John Silver’s, Applebee’s, and Del Taco. What an absolute joke of a card now. They might as well have just partnered with Malaysian Airlines and started running a “get lost in your vacation” promo.”
“BOA is a standout now that every other bank have transfer partners/points programs. They're the only major bank to offer a cashback based loyalty program instead.”
“I product changed mine to the cash+ a few weeks ago. Ha ha. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway for me with those partners.”
“I can't believe it, US Bank is a transfer partner bank now. US Bank. Ethiopian Sheba Rewards just got US Bank on the transfer partner map.”
“No regrets from me either. I especially did not want to have yet another portal to deal with.”
